Theodred "Theo" Kaylin Sammeth

[When Theo comes into the casino today he's not alone. He has girl with him. No, strike that, a very striking woman. She towers over him by a good few inches, with blonde, almost white blonde as opposed to Theo's more sickly blond, hair that flows down her back in waves and legs that go a long way down.

She's also wearing a wedding band, one similar to Theo's.]

And this is where I've been working. I think the last time you were here it was a big party... but that was for Meyer's birthday. Let's see who's around here and I can introduce you to people.

((Replies will come from [personal profile] sostylish as well as Theo's. Come meet his wife!))

[He's hoping, somehow, that someone'll show up that he wants to see. In the meantime, he's keeping himself busy, getting the casino cleaned up and ready to be opened at five. That gives him a chance to pause and address the video, though.]

The majority of you have probably already been welcomed to the City. Those that haven't, well, if you need a drink and some gambling to keep you entertained, I'd suggest coming on down to my casino. It's called Lucky's, you can't miss it, and maybe we'll offer drinks specials tonight, just because people need something to deal with being stuck in a strange city for a weekend.

[A long pause as he looks away from the camera for a moment, and then back.]

And if I know you... from home... it'd be nice if you'd drop by.

[Rose stands in front of a counter piled with clothes as she goes through varies garments and starts to fold piece by piece as in front of her are a number of people wandering around the shop. It’s unusual for a weekend even with pre-holiday sales. She stops her work as someone approaches with a sales question.]

Yeah, just so you know everything today is buy one, get the second for 50% off. Hell of a deal, yeah?

[She grins as the customer leaves and she looks down at her device.]

Reckon it’s shaping up to be a great day today.

I'm not sure how this works, actually.

But if you're someone I care about from Beacon Hills, I definitely want you to get in touch with me.

She seems furtive, like she's not really expecting any kind of response.]

Oh, it's Visitor's Day again.

[She's standing in front of the cafe/salon/boutique, Passioné, ducking and diving the crowd that doesn't seem to be letting up at all. That's to be expected.]

Hi all you beautiful people. If I know you from home, you better come see me or else. If I don't know you from home, well, I like to talk to strangers. If you are either are in need of clothes, a haircut, or food, come see me regardless. There'll be a friends and family discount today because I said so.

[ooc: She's still from Season 4 so no telling her any canon details pass that. Otherwise, go wild! Action/Video/Text, whatever.]

There are really only so many ways to rephrase the way you greet one of these weekends. I almost feel like we ought to have some pamphlets prepared ahead of time, just to run down the basics for those who haven't come our way before... this is where you are, this is how long you'll probably be here. We have guides for new arrivals, an abridged version for visitors hardly seems ill-advised. Maybe we should even invest in those "Hello, my name is" tags - it does happen often enough, after all.

[ His tone is largely sincere, though some might pick up on the slight jesting quality to it. ]

You know, for as much as the City has changed, there are always some days when it feels the same as it's ever been.

[ ooc: Fourth wall go! He's from late S3, but has some vague knowledge of later canon. Very vague. No dupes of existing House cast plz, unless you're that player. And on that note, some of you might get hit by a series-end Wilson because I hate myself. ]

Well, there's only one thing that that noise can mean. By now, I'd quite hope I'd recognize it. So we're being inundated with these 'tourists' again, it seems.

As ever, I never manage to do as I say--to keep to myself, well inside, away from the windows and the Network, and all the rest. I've quite given up by now, really. I know I'm bound to appear on the Network, at the very least, and there always seems to be something I need to do on days like this. And it never seems to work entirely anyway when I do try to keep away, if only because it's rather difficult to keep away from all windows and it does become rather tedious. Sooner or later, I do find that I have to go out for one reason or another. And that is all to say nothing of the fact that there are a few people who seem quite capable of coming into the opera house as they please, despite all our efforts to the contrary. And I don't think warning them about He-Who-Kills will do any good either.

I shall, however, keep a close watch for Merry. Riff, if he's here, will find me immediately, so I know I needn't even watch for him. He'll always find me. Merry, though, I shall watch for.

I haven't much hope or wish for anyone else from my world to pay me a call. Although I do recall that my uncle came for a visit one year. And there has frequently been a young man come to call who seemed strikingly familiar but whom I'm sure I didn't know.

Although, there are yet others who seem to come into the City on days like this whom I should still like to see, even if I may not quite hope for it as I did with Riff and now with Merry so long ago and so often.

The little clutch of girls is back under my window, as I knew they would be. By now I'd be rather disappointed if they weren't there. It's still rather flattering. You would think they'd have grown tired of me by now, but perhaps that's the way time works in and out of the City. I shall be tossing them letters again this time, and I do hope they see this on the Network so that they'll be able to catch them. It would be a shame to have them fall to the ground unheeded.

And, yes, exciting as it always is at first, I know I'll be quite exhausted after a few moments of it. But I think I shall be a fool today and show my face. At least I'm quite aware of my own foolishness. And perhaps there's something clever in that.

Welcome to the City, I suppose.

Though why anyone would visit the City, I shall never understand.

~C.

It's been a while since we've had a visitor's weekend...and there's so many people here!

Well, welcome to the City, everybody! I'm Rapunzel, and if we've met before, welcome back! If not, well...first time for everything, right?

To all the visitors- The Jasmine Dragon Tea Shop will be having specials all day today. Buy a medium drink, get a free pastry, that sort of thing. Since it's a special occasion and everything.

Well, have fun, and don't worry--you'll all get to go home soon.

[ooc: Open to EEEEVERYBOOOODY. God I love 4th wall weekend.]

[ He'd been on his way to the library to return some books when he'd first noticed the crowds. It had been a little disconcerting, rereading the last chapter of a particularly interesting tome only to run into a queue of people he didn't recognise. Especially with so many of them as confused as he is.

So once he breaks away - Merlin, he really wouldn't want to be working in a cafe today - he digs out his device.
] Is it just me or is it really very busy today? [ He has to sidestep someone with a quiet pardon me before he starts up again. ] I've never seen so many people arrive before, is it a curse?

Ginny Weasley here. Still here, really, so come say hello.

[She's somewhere outside, maybe just off the Square and heading towards Xanadu. She's paused to film this, holding the camera up in front of herself and the crowds passing behind and around her.]

Home turned up a few days ago in the City so I think it'd be a treat for it to continue. I don't care if that means I'm getting spoiled. This is the closest I can get.

[Chekov had called to tell her that it was Visitors Weekend, and Korra almost decided to stay holed up at the Beach House. She's been here for over a year now. She's seen them come & go so many times, has spent so much time without them... would they even recognize her? (Her clothes from home have gotten tattered beyond repair -- she's dressed in jeans and the polar bear dog hoodie Hei had given her.) More importantly, would she recognize them -- or are they now as good as complete strangers? A part of her doesn't want to find out.

But. If they are here... she can't leave them alone. They'll need her help.

Half dreading, half-hopeful, 100% queasy, Korra and Naga hit the City streets, looking for familar faces.]

[Voice Post]

--st give me one moment, then; after all, if you're here, then there might be others to say hello to, as well!

[Shuffle, shuffle.]

Hello, everyone! It's so very nice to see all of you again. Goodness, we've been at this rather a number of times by now, haven't we? A few times a year, at least--once per season, I think, it used to be for the longest time--and we're already a fair few months into my sixth year by now, so that's quite a lot of visits! But I'm certainly glad for them; it's always nice to see everyone.

If you'd like to come down to the Blue Light while you're here to visit, we're having specials on food and drink for visitors, and dancing and music and merriment besides. And, er, I'm still not very good with making drinks, but I'll be trying my hand at it at the bar, so if you should be looking for me, that's where you've the best chance of finding me! Oh, and--

[Mumble, mumble.]

Er, as I was saying, Alexander's come to call today, so you might see him about, as well! So please do come down; it'd be so very nice to see you.

[Shuffle, shuffle.]

There, now, with that all settled--what's this about a princess you've met, then?

[Click.]

[OOC: Feel free to action Rosella up at the Blue Light, or engage her brother Alexander ([personal profile] catnapped), who's also come to visit for the day! As per usual, she's canonically from just after the end of Perils of Rosella, and Alexander is currently from just after the end of Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder. But if something comes up that I don't want her to know, I'll just have her forget it, so have a party--anything goes! ♥]

Dewey
23 November 2013 @ 07:13 pm
[ Dewey has seen one of these before - and having seen it before, he's not taken by surprise when it comes back around. Everyone made it clear it was a regular occurrence, after all.

What it does mean is a stream of people who won't be sticking around - and the thing is, Dewey actually has gotten to miss his brothers in the months he's been here. So he decides that, in their honor, there is only one way to deal with this influx of people who won't be here long enough to give him trouble.

He has found his way up onto one of the shorter buildings surrounding the square, and there he has constructed a short wall fort comprised primarily of cardboard. He has a store of water balloons, paper airplanes, a remote controlled helicopter and a selection of plastic paratroopers. The paratroopers are because he's going to play, thank you very much.

Pass by and see what happens. ]

I'm relieved, honestly, that this curse still comes around, even with the Deities gone and everything different. Not that any of it is that different, really, but I've always liked getting visitors.

I've honestly lost count of how many times I've seen this come around-- it didn't used to last a whole weekend, did it? I'm glad people get to stay a little longer-- the ones who enjoy it, at least-- but it must be a bit inconvenient, finding somewhere to stay over, being away from home.

I hope you enjoy yourselves. Make the most of it. Carpe diem.
