You not knowing how something works makes finding myself here even more weird.

[Lydia's mouth opens, forms into a delighted smile.] Danny.

Are you okay? Is everyone at home okay?

[Given the way time and space can fluctuate outside the City's bubble, she's not sure if he's Danny-Besties-With-Jackson or Danny-Dating-Ethan, so she's hedging her bets until he indicates one way or another.]

[ He should be used to it by now, the weirdness that surrounds everyone he knows. But he isn't, he doubts he'll ever be. Until someone clues him in, anyway. ]

Everyone's fine. I was --. [ He shrugs. ] About to head out. [ This isn't his cellphone and he wonders if maybe he stole it. ] Where are you? Where are we?

It's hard to explain - actually it's relatively easy to explain, just hard to believe.

You're in an interdimensional nexus called The City. It exists between space and time and multiple realities. But I only think you're here for a day, maybe two.

[Despite her hope, it's still a shock and it's hard to keep her voice from doing a little flip on the second syllable.] Jackson?

[It is of course accompanied by a whole range of emotions that render her speechless for a few moments.]

It's kind of hard to believe but we're...kind of in a place that's outside of time or space or anything. Yes, I do know how crazy that sounds.

Well, we weren't exactly friends, were we.

[That doesn't mean Lydia's not glad to see you alive, Erica.]

In fact you kinda tried to kill me along with Isaac, though he and I have had time to get over it a little bit.

[She and Isaac both effectively belong to Scott's pack, for all intents and purposes. That makes it difficult to hold onto that sort of thing in the face of united purpose.]
