That's what everyone keeps saying. I feel bad for everyone that's stuck here permanently, though. I imagine it's been a while since a lot of you have seen home.

Four and a half years for me, yeah.

I usually try not to think about it, because it's just too depressing. After the first couple of years you just sort of... don't want to remember.

[ whereas four years seems like such a short span of time to someone who's over 200 years old. dax knows she doesn't look it, that this current host body is youthful and doesn't show any signs of the years she carries with her. sometimes, she forgets that members of other species aren't so long-lived, that they don't have ways of living on past death like the trill do. ]

I can understand that. I would think... If I were in your shoes, that it would hurt too much after a while. That it would be easier to adapt than to try and live on hope.

Yeah. After a while it's easier to just settle in, make a life here, and just keep your hoping to your prayers at night.
