Arthur Pendragon
21 March 2012 @ 09:00 am
[ the feed flickers on to to show a wide swath of bright sky and leafy greenery. There's also someone off muttering on the side and a periodic thud as other, random things hit the ground. ]

Okay, so I have a weird whatever thing; some coins, although certainly none I've ever seen before; and my sword. Whoever just left me here could have at least had the grace to leave me some food. Even Merlin can do a better job then this.

[ there's a pause, before the rustle of clothing is heard ]

Right, well, there's a lake nearby. If I keep heading due west... [ he's spouting nonsense, he doesn't know where he is, but he did believe he spied a lake in the vicinity. It was as good of a place as any to start. ]

Very well, best to get on with it. [ Arthur's face shows briefly as he bends to scoop up his random collection of things. It's not pleased, but it's not angry either. It's showing nothing but determination. He may be a prince, but he's a resourceful one too! ]

((ooc: Arthur woke up in the Wilds today. Action welcomed to anyone who feels inclined. Also, backtags more then welcomed since I know several were looking forward to this.))

[Now that Saya's back, she's different. Changed. At least for today anyhow.

She's been wandering the penthouse like a caged animal. No moral filter on a Chiropteran Queen seems to equal the sort of 'beast' she really is. Or someone comparable to her sister Diva.

Luckily, all her lack of morality for the day is hinging on her annoyance for one particular Chevalier. And his 'partner' in crime as well. And today, for once? She has no qualms on calling them out.

Unfortunately she doesn't think enough of things to private this either. She's just calling like any good Queen would, fired up to settle this once and for all.]

Karl. I'll deal with you first.

[OOC: Forgive the spam as of late and the lateness of this one. Backdating this to the 20th so Saya can be hit by the 'The Worst Of Me' curse. No moral filter = a beast, more or less.
Be glad she only has eyes for Karl and Rido.]

[Charlie, looking a little annoyed and a little tired, has her back against a white wall. And she's surrounded by books. All of them recipe books. She's seated on a floor and she's thumbing through them and if anyone looks carefully, there's a hint of Petrichor's tail sticking out from her zipped up jacket.

Yes, she snuck her cat into the book-store. No, she has no fucks to give about it. She knows the device is on. It switched itself on a few minutes ago and she recognized the little red light for what it was. She just had nothing important to say until now. Her tone is flat and she hardly spares the camera a glance. It's all books right now for her, anyway.]

Everyone survive yesterday alright?

I'd rather not spoil a perfectly nice day by dwelling on an ugly one, but I will say that I'm certainly glad that curse we had yesterday is done and over with, and I certainly hope it's not one we see again anytime soon, and that's quite enough of that.

But it's lovely out today, and there's no curse, and it's the first day of spring! This is the fourth one to go past, now, since I came to the City; I remember it was just coming up on the first of spring back home in Daventry, too, before I left, but then when I came here it was August and I had to wait another whole seven months before the dates lined up the way they ought to. It's so strange to think that I was seventeen, then; an old friend of mine once told me that the first year here seems to take the longest, but then every other year after seems to fly past a bit quicker. She was right about that, I think. But then, she was usually right about most things.

She always knew when I was keeping secrets, that friend, and I usually do keep one around this time of year. You see, it's my brother's birthday today, the first of spring. And...we're twins, so that makes it my birthday, too. Though it's a bit strange to think of a pair of twins separated by four years in age, isn't it? Alexander's still seventeen, just as he's been four times around now, but today I'm turning twenty-one. It doesn't feel so different than twenty, really, and I'm glad for that. And for all of the friends I've made in all this time, too.

But speaking of friends, I have a promise to keep before the day is out, so I'd better not linger too much longer or I'll never make it! Happy first of spring, everyone! I hope it's as wonderful for you as it's always been for me.

[OOC: Yup, it's her birthday today--the fourth she's had in the City so far. WHEN DID SHE GET TO BE TWENTY-ONE. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS. And her 300th post, too! It's an exciting day. She's got a visit to make to Ellington before the day is out, but I know there were some Sekrit Party Planz™ in the works, so feel free to action her up, divert her, whatever! She'll be out and about basically all day, and I'll roll with whatever. o/]

Elijah Morgan

I gotta say, I ain't never seen a city like this before.

[After that observation, he takes a moment to adjust his hat and clear his throat.] Assuming I'm usin' this thing correctly, and assumin' likewise that any of y'all out there can hear me... The name's Elijah Morgan, the Elijah Morgan, best damn hunter of fey on either side of the Atlantic. I was en route to the States last I recall, but it seems there's been some kinda...mishap, I guess. Now, I had some important business waitin' for me back in America, so if someone would kindly show me the way outta here, that would be very much appreciated.

Secondly, ah... If anyone happens to see a big guy in a black mask and veil, maybe carryin' around a big ol' spear, that would be my partner. [A beat.] Work partner. His name's Aðalgeir and he ain't much of a talkative type, so if any of y'all would let me know where he is, that would also be very much appreciated.

[After another pause:] Geir, if you can hear this yourself, I need you to contact me pronto. I'm near this big fountain right now, but I ain't stickin' around long. [And the connection cuts out.]

[action // video]

[SPLASH! The viewscreen gets splattered with water as one Nick Ryves tumbles unceremoniously into the fountain.

He quickly gets out with all the grace and offended dignity of a cat. A normal person might have made some kind of exclamation, a cry of shock, or start calling for someone they know.

Nick doesn't have to do any of these things. One quick glance around is enough to tell him Alan isn't here, and this isn't England.

If you happen to be passing by the fountain, you might want to leave. Fast. Close to a cold, west, confused Nick Ryves is not the safest place to stand.]

Merlin of Ealdor ♣ Emrys
[So. Arthur's appearance means that he needs to throw this together in a bit of a rush, while going to get the bloody prat. Thus, it's better to make it voice because then at least no one will notice his nervous fumbling.]

I really hope I'm doing this right.

Okay, uhm. The... blond man who just appeared naming what he's got on him, and muttering about a lake and heading west, he's, uhm... I'm Merlin, and he's Arthur Pendragon, and I think some of you at least know who that is. Who.. we are. He's from my world, but the thing here is...

I'm sure most everyone here now knows of my... abilities, but Arthur doesn't because, uh.. it's banned, back home, and he's the Prince, so that would be troublesome.

I don't know if this is quick enough - I should have thought of it before - but just. Please try not to let things slip about it, to him?

[A pause, and his voice goes just slightly quieter, as if he's muttering to himself more, now, than talking to the device.]

I... might want to consider telling him, huh? It's not like it's going to get me executed here.

[And then he raises his voice again.]

But in that case, I'd rather be the one to do that, so... yeah. Don't let him know.

((OOC: Action too if anyone would like to catch him on the streets while he's doing this, but he'll be in a bit of a hurry and very distracted so that thread wouldn't last long. And any other responses will come later, in some hours-ish I guess?))

So, was the a curse yesterday or are you all actually cool now?

Most of you are pretty lame so I'm guessing the former.

[Fail!filter to Alexis]

[A long pause, and then, in a strained voice:]

My apologies for my behavior yesterday. It was completely inexcusable and unacceptable, and I understand that you have every right to feel angry at me.

[There's a wince in his voice as he continues:] And...although it was a curse that caused me to behave so reprehensibly...I know I must accept whatever punishment I am dealt for my transgressions.

Again, my deepest apologies.

Does anyone really believe the devil made them do it?

Then, why should we be comfortable applying that logic to curses?
