Ah, um.... so... [Piglet glances behind him, wringing his little pink hands in front of him.] So these eggs... they are Bad? I mean, Owls you see, have eggs. And I think those would be Good eggs... But IF they are particularly Bad... what might be the best way to get rid of one?

... Safely. I mean of course, safely.

[ooc: Am winding up a vacation *that hasn't had internet until just now* and dealing with airports and such tomorrow. BUT will reply when tucked back safely home in the evening!]

Pinoko
30 March 2013 @ 06:22 am
[The recording begins with Pinoko approaching some dogs at a pet store, somewhat hesitantly. She waves:]

Hello!

[The dogs happily bark and woof at her in greeting, but the sound startles her and she falls backwards onto the floor, judging by the sudden change in perspective and the loud smack!] Waaaah...! [They all look too big...

Next, Pinoko tries to get the attention of some cats, who lazily half-acknowledge her or continue to ignore her existence.]
Don't think they like Pinoko much...

[Now, she's peering into a tank full of turtles. They inch around at a slow, plodding pace.] Kinda boring...

[Pinoko tries to reach into a bird cage with some food, but winds up with her arm covered in birds.] KYAAAAA, help, they're shtampeding! Or shwarming! Whatever thish is called!

[The next is a brief shot of tarantulas accompanied by a terrified shriek, and followed up by a blur of colour and the sound of hurrying squeaky footsteps:] Pinoko's lonely, but not THAT lonely! A-anything but shpiders! Shorry, ekschuse me, I'll come back again another daaaaay!!

[The next video feed begins while she's in her room, sitting at her desk while the cell phone is propped up against the wall. She's cupping her cheeks in her hands and looking miserable:]

No luck sho far. It feels like my life'sh turned into a gag comic. [She sighs in disappointment, leaning back into her chair before blinking:] Huh? What'sh thish?

[She hops down out of her chair and checks under the desk for something off-screen.]

... an egg? [She brings out one of those large, colourful eggs scattered around the City.] It's sho beatiful!

They were cute before. I guess they're kinda cute now too. Still.

'xcept they're kind of...wild. I don't know if anyone's figured out a way to um...deal with them without you know, killing them uh but if anyone has...

[ it would be a lie to say he hadn't grown fond of one before it hatched, grew, and spawned an appetite for a sizable planet... ]

Well, that'd be good. I wish they didn't grow like that...but this is the City... [ sigh ]

Roxas, are you...

][ private : ventus ][

I need to talk to you. Not at home though. Or the ice cream place...Xanadu maybe? Should be okay until a dragon shows up, at least.

Well so much for trying to teach'em. Just when I thought I'd seen it all. I mean dragons...blimey.

Doesn't seem to be getting better either. Anyone out there ever deal with this before or is this the City's way of saying stay in doors?

Princess Rosella of Daventry

[Accidental Video Post]

[Amid the sound of a clatter and some general fussing (the former owing to the device striking the ground, the latter to the fact that good gracious there are dragons outside and they are growing), the video switches on, presenting for the Network's viewing pleasure a lovely shot of bookshelves, the Library ceiling, and a flash of Rosella's red skirt.]

--other it all, this is hardly the time to be clumsy. Oh, just a minute, um...dragons, dragons...

[An arm extends, plucking a book off the shelf.]

...Wagons?

[And that book proceeds to go thump as she promptly sets it aside without further comment.]

Honestly, I can't find anything today! Spellbooks, cookbooks...um, drat, let's see, that'd be...spellbooks about dragons, so a cookbook about...oh, let's try snakes, then?

[She scoops up the device and trots briskly through the shelves, still murmuring to herself.]

Lizards, snakes-- [She removes another book, this time from a different shelf.] --To Serve Man. ...Augh!

[Yes, well, when you have dragons on the brain, things tend to get jumbled up--and asking the Library for a cookbook about dragons might just give you a cookbook for dragons, instead.]

Oh, drat it all, there's got to be something in here somewhere!

[And with another rustle of fabric as she continues on her way, the video ends.]

[OOC: WOO DRAGONS. Rosella's worst nightmare--or, well, one of them, at least. She and the Dead Poets will be enacting these shenanigans from here on out, so stay tuned for future developments! And feel free to action her up in the Library if you're in that area. o/]

[ Clary's video is of her bedroom. At some point during the night the dragon got out. She doesn't really know how. Only that she's sitting under his wing while it chews on everything nearby. ] Oh -- don't, I need that. [ She crawls closer to fight back her sketchbook, tucking it under her arm and trying not to flinch when the thing snorts smoke at her. ] You can have the pillows, promise.

[ Then turning back to the feed. ] Um, they're growing. [ A nose buries itself in her red hair. ] Should they be growing? Because I don't really know what to do. I don't really want him to get out. [ Because she is his momma now. ] Anyone got any information?

Dr Robert Chase
30 March 2013 @ 04:24 pm
[A very mussed, crumpled looking doctor blinks into the camera. Oddly, from the office visible behind him, it looks like he's at work.]

Um, my paperweight just hatched.

[Yes, 14 hours in surgery yesterday and the rest of the night crashed out asleep in his office have left him a little out of touch. But he's getting caught up with events rapidly as a small pink claw hooks over his arm and a little pink dragon scrabbles her way up onto his shoulder.

And makes a noise suspiciously like a sneeze. One which showers a glittering spray of rainbow coloured sparkles all over Chase.

He pulls a face.]

And I think it's got the flu.

[ooc: Yes, it IS the silliest dragon ever, but when she's fully grown she'll be causing a miniature geomagnetic storm, disrupting electricity flow to the hospital. And creating a very pretty aurora over it. Open to voice/text/action at any stage from bitty dragon to massive magnetic terror.]

Sooooooooooooo...... the little tiny small surprise is not so petite wee bitty. And they were so p r e t t y as eggs~! But these creatures will grow and growl and grow.... So many! So big! So few things to eat for so big of things!

WE CANNOT BE HAVING AN INFESTATION!

Your most WONDERFUL SUPERB TERRIFIC deities will fix drive out the vermin~~. The sky shall be opened to take up all of these dragons. One ring! One ring to pull them through and take them away. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY, AND IT IS OUT. NO ONE AND NO THING BUT THE BEASTS WILL PASS THROUGH!!!

But but but my dearest my darling ants it is taking a liiiiittle time to open this gateway! It will be there so soon, so soon. If the tiny small baby citizens MUST keep these...pests THEY MUST FIND A WAY TO KEEP THEM A MANAGEABLE SIZE. If not? THEY MUST GO! Lina wishes you good luck~♥!

[ooc; The How to Train Your Dragon plot continues! Now that the dragons are growing and growing, the problem is apparent. A gateway will appear in the sky at 12:01am April 1st and will stay open until 11:59pm on April 3rd. It shines and lulls the beasts to a daze and pulls them up like a tractor beam or makes them fly through it. The gateway will be open only so long. Now is the time to find a way to keep the dragons small through science, magic or deity deal!

EDIT: For plotting purposes (and because it is never easy to say goodbye) the dragons do not have to leave as soon as the portal opens! The more the dragons resist, the more wild and unruly they become. Better get to the shrinking or wrangling soon!]

Ruby Flint
30 March 2013 @ 06:26 pm
[The feed shows a baby dragon with bright red scales crawling across the floor of Ruby's apartment. The camera's shaking in her hands a little.]

I liked this thing far more when I still thought it was a dinosaur.

[The dragon opens its mouth wide and out shoots a small fireball. The rug and the bottom of the curtains of Ruby's apartment are now on fire.]

Hey-- hey! Stop that!

[She grabs the first thing she can lay her hands on - a frying pan - and whacks the dragon with it sharply. Whereas before he'd looked playful, now he just looks very angry with her. She wouldn't be surprised if he tried to burn down the whole apartment now.]

If anyone wants him, take him. Please. Otherwise I'm going to be eating dragon stew tonight.

[She drops the camera abruptly to try and deal with the fire.]

Theodred "Theo" Kaylin Sammeth
[The screen opens up to a shot of one of Theo's undead rats scurring across, blocking the view. Some cracking noise follows, like an egg hatching to be exact. And then a very shocked Theo making a very shocked exclamation.]

What the... agh... Dragon!

[And then a gun shot.

A long pause follows before..]

Damn evil buggers.

[The video shuts off.]

Ginny Weasley

093.
When you've got a dragon keeper for an older brother, you tend to pick up a few things about his studies. So let's cover the basics, shall we, before it all gets more out of hand—and keep in mind that the dragons I know are probably not the same as this lot but there's got to be some overlap, right?

1. Most breeds aren't fully mature until they're about two years old, but since this is the City, we're going to have to ignore the logic of this part. Because obviously fire-breathing and flying are coming along quite nicely. Lovely.

2. For the love of Merlin, don't approach them alone. Or even unarmed. No, it doesn't matter how big or small they are. It's still a dragon. Charlie might love them but that doesn't stop him from getting hurt on the job, trained to handle them or not. Back home, it takes about a dozen wands to Stun a dragon and you're mad if you think you could take one alone. (And that's coming from me.) There's a reason dragon hide's so valuable; it's one of the toughest, strongest things out there. Magic can get through it but it takes a lot.

3. Following up on #2, don't hack them off. You might think fire's all they've got against you and if you can protect yourself from that, then you're alright, but they've got claws and their tails could snap you properly in half if you aren't paying attention. Sometimes they'll have horns or spines. Every bit of them could be a weapon. That being said—

4. Leave them alone. There's no predicting anything in this place, but dragons are animals, really, so how much different would they be? You don't just corner a unicorn and expect it to adore you because you're a nice person. They don't know that about you, do they? People get gored by unicorns if they aren't careful. Don't provoke the poor things if they aren't doing anything.

5. But I've got my wand if you need anything. I'm no Harry Potter, I haven't dueled a dragon by myself, but I've seen it and I know it can be done. And that's all that matters, isn't it?

I'm sure we all wish Charlie Weasley was the one here for this mess, but he's the only one in my family who hasn't come by the City. Not even on a visitor's weekend. So you'll have to make do with whatever I can remember from his stories about Romania and hope we won't have to make our own.

Lacus Clyne
30 March 2013 @ 11:37 pm
[There's quite a bit of smoke in the room, causing Lacus to cough daintily before she begins her message. Also, a very large, scaled, purple tail is visible in the background.]

I think I waited too long to move him outdoors, and he's getting very... [a worried glance over her shoulder as her new "pet" lets out a roar] large. And larger by the hour.

If anyone could assist, I'd be grateful.
