no ic-cut, blah blah context )

Hey, hey, hey! Don’t you touch my clothes, dude! ( he’s advancing on him immediately, wheeling himself over towards kazu to you know, shut the window down on his insolent fingers. only what he actually does is something more along the lines of just outright shoving kazu towards the floor. ) Nothing of mine is going out that window!!

( Ikki shoves, and Kazu’s first instinct is to shove back. ) Oi, should’ve thought of that before you started dumping it in my room.

( his feet kick down against the floor as soon as kazu’s hands are on him in an attempt to keep his chair from wheeling backwards. he pushes right back against him, fingers tangling in the fabric of kazu’s shirt as he rises, very shakily to his feet. ) Where’s your concern for my stuff!! My precious stuff!! This stuff is all I got here!

It’s the same shit you’ve always— ( except he goes on automatic as it registers: fingers closing around Ikki's wrist, because what is even going on. ) Ikki, what the fuck.

Damn—! ( he swerves around on the heel of his cast, knocking over the container of akito’s glitter and tumbles out of the window in one smooth and completely horrifying movement. who the hell even owns glitter. his fingers let go out of kazu’s shirt as he falls through the threshold and down in a cloud of rainbow glitter. )

Fucking glitter—! ( he yells out before he disappears into thin air, arm outstretched towards kazu and the window. )

[[ooc: kazu is orange, and ikki is blue, who is briefly leaving for a much-needed canon-update! he’ll be back in a day or few. ]]

[So the video turns on and Sif's expression is...not a happy one.] I am not one for wanting to make these sort of things public, but...

[First off, she hopes everyone believes her, because - yes, she is. This sort of thing comes with best-friend-since-childhood privileges. Sif turns the device around. It focuses on -

Thor. Sitting on the couch in his apartment. Without a shirt off. Eating poptarts.

In the background, there is music. Loud music. He looks up. Such puppy dog eyes.]

Sif, I can never find anyone like her. Though I wish only for the best for her, is it selfish that I wish her here? [He pauses. Leans back, opens his mouth, and-]

NEVERMIND, I'LL FIND SOMEONE LIIIIKE YOUUUUUUUUU, EVEN THOUGH I WON'T...

[Another poptart is consumed. The video focuses on Sif again; she is most serious.]

I want to know who broke him.

[ooc; Thor is blue, Sif is normal. She really is.]

[There is a moment of darkness as the feed turns on until the scene soon fills with light as Klarth popped his head out of the mountain of sand, coughing from suffocation.]

W-What.. what in the--

[He quickly looked around to find himself now homeless for his roof had collapsed by turning into sand and all of his things buried beneath. A look of panic all over his face as he drops the device and hurries to dig them out.]

WHaaaa!! What's going on!? My things! My precious artifacts and research!

[AP for Judith!] )

[ooc; Open txt/messaging though for AP please contact me if you want to plot something specific! Thanks~]

[For anyone that's in the Glass City, this will come off static-y as hell. Images will distort, freeze and audio will come off wrong. Words will be missing and cut off at the wrong times. But it is clearly Charlie and Ed in a van, checking over blankets secured over windows. Ed's checking it frequently and Charlie's swatting his hands away.]

Would you stop that?! [It's Charlie. She sounds exasperated. She gets an annoyed look from Ed, a look that does fuck-all to hide the worry.] You keep checking it and it'll end up falling. Leave it be.

How do I know you even bothered to secure it right to begin with? [Ed. Still sounding annoyed.]

You could try trusting me, you know.

You---I don't want to. [There's the sound of a metal door creaking open, a hiss and video of Ed flinching away from a small shaft of sunlight and Charlie speaks again, picking up her device. The door slams and Charlie notices the device is running.]

Any explanation for what's going on, here?

(ooc: Red = Evil Ed. Black for Charlie. This is before she and Evil find the rest of the caravan of magic and ineptitude BUT SHE WILL FIND THEM! after she and ed raid a few buildings and flirt argue more.]

Doctor Emmett L. "Doc" Brown
[Hushed and awed, just above a whisper -]

Great scott.

[He trudges through the sand that has encroached on the floor of the building he's claimed as his workshop, one that had stood on the outskirts of the City. It's little more than a few half-standing walls now.]

One could hardly say there was a shortage of sand - a curious enough development, it seemed - but this is an extremely drastic and critical turn. Despite my limited experience in the City, I am forced to conclude that this is far more than a simple curse. My understanding is that the lengthy build-up towards this implies something of a far greater significance and a less fleeting nature.

[Then there's the rush of air that signifies a large, heavy sheet being lifted - off of the still-disabled DeLorean. Work's been done, though, and it doesn't have that far to go. There's an audible breath of relief as he finds it intact.]

In any case, these circumstances certainly warrant a bit of reprioritizing...

[ooc: As noted, this is open to action if desired! He's in the Desert City, so if you're in Glass, assume the appropriate distortion. Annnnnd I'm at work right now so tags will be slow/delayed.]

Mr. Blonde | Vic Vega
15 February 2012 @ 01:50 pm
[ Don't mind Mr. Blonde sitting on what used to be a couch, reloading his gun. He's got an ugly tiger-striped tie wrapped around his neck to help keep the sun off it, as well as his pair of sunglasses. ]

Anyone know if the Underground is still intact?

[ Carla had stored some water there, but he's sure as hell not going to go digging for it if it isn't. ]

Aya Fujimiya
15 February 2012 @ 02:26 pm
[The video turns on to show that Aya is out in the desert, his sword sticking up in the sand behind him.]

I need everyone I know to report to me right now so I know where you are. I don't know how long this will last but it may be better if we find a way to band together.

[He shields his eyes as he looks up at the sky.]

Be careful out here as well. There's not telling what will happen.

So it seems we've become divided by an event that has created desert and glass. Thus far it seems that the glass is far safer than the sand others are trapped in.

Still, it would be a shame to lose people to the desert and what mysteries wait for us out there.

After all, I do have two sons who haven't contacted me to let me know if they are safe or not. I would hate to see either of them perish due to events like this. [One can almost hear the smile in his tone as he continues on.] Though, I am aware that one of them is lost in the desert even if he wished for me not to know the fact.

Don't die now, Cain.

Your father wishes you to live.

Lantis
15 February 2012 @ 02:40 pm
[It becomes clear right away that Lantis is in the Glass City. However, that's not what seems to be on his mind. No, not at all.]

Eagle, where are you?

[Ah. There we go.]

Gin Rummy
15 February 2012 @ 03:08 pm
A'right, this ain't a big deal. I was in Iraq, for fuck's sake.

If any y'all try to slow me down or rob me, you gonna get a cap in yo ass.

Lockdown
15 February 2012 @ 03:22 pm
So the woods surrounding the Death's Head turned to sand. I've been on desert planets before, I ain't scared.

[He revs his chainsaw a few times to make sure it works, then converts it back into his left arm.]

Oh, and by the way, anyone who wants or needs my help, you better have some payment handy, or arrange for some kinda payment. Otherwise you're slag outta luck. How many of you honestly think you'll last a nanoklik out here?

[He turns off the video before transforming and driving off, kicking up sand.]

Jack ❝ Wynand ❞ (Ryan)
15 February 2012 @ 03:31 pm
I guess it was too much to hope that the sand wouldn't get this bad.

[It's meant as a joke, but Jack clearly isn't in much of a joking mood. Though really, who would be, after waking up in a mystery desert and wearing a wool sweater? (Which has been abandoned, by the looks of him, but he also doesn't look happy about it.)]

Does anyone know what the hell is going on? If anyone's still out there... [He's not willing to say it, but he's somehow less sure of his chances of survival out here than he was down in Rapture.] I could use some help.

Kaito Wanijima
15 February 2012 @ 03:52 pm
[Hello, City. This Kaito and he looks pissed. Could it be the lack of cigarettes? How about the extreme amount of sand? Or maybe it's the fact that he's standing there a lone?]

Alright, you little shits, it's time for for all of you to tell me where the fuck you are. That way I can hunt you down.

[He shoves his hair back from his face.]

Oi, Dean. If you can hear this, I'm telling you now that I'm using real bullets out here. Everyone can just deal with that.

[Grumbling under his breath, he starts to stomp off in a random direction to look for his people.]

Rapunzel
15 February 2012 @ 04:33 pm
[Poor Rapunzel. Last night, she went to bed feeling rather good, considering what day it was...today, she's been wandering the Desert City, trying to find some place that isn't crumbling to pieces underneath her feet.

But it's starting to get late...and she hates to admit that she's getting scared, but...]

Hello? Is there anybody out there? I just want to get home...if home is still standing...]

[Poor Pascal is worried for Rapuzel, poking his head out from his spot on her shoulder every so often. But other than that, the desert doesn't seem to be bugging him so much...]

C'mon, Pascal...we've got to find someplace to stay before it gets dark...I've got a bad feeling about staying out late...

Show of hands, who's really surprised that this happened...Explains all the sand...

Okay, has anybody been able to find shelter or food out in the desert yet? Has anybody been able to get to the other City yet, or is that impossible...

I say we band together. This can't be all they're planning to do to us...

No, I will admit that I had not expected things to ever get quite so bad as this. I think I had believed the sand would inconvenience us for a time and then disappear again. Or, perhaps, it might reveal something more or perhaps it could be tied to something more. But I suppose it does rather prove my idea that this was something more than a curse. Though I don't think the question has entirely been answered even yet: how much worse will it become? And, truly, what does it mean?

Riff--I'm not even certain where you are at the moment--we've supplies enough in the basement of the opera house for emergencies such as this. We've water and I think we shall want for that soon enough. The opera house itself seems to be standing well enough for the moment, though I hesitate to be to certain about that. Rumours are flying about collapsing buildings and parts of the City going to ruin. I'd say we ought to hide in the basement of the opera house itself once again--and, admittedly, I do think it would be rather cooler underground, but I've seen a few buildings themselves topple into piles of sand both of late and some time before and I should rather not trap myself underground if there is such a risk of collapse. I think we had better be prepared to move if things should become any worse. I've prepared my things, such as I think I'll need or must carry with me. I'd recommend you do the same. We've enough on which to live for some time.

I'd claim I've some knowledge of deserts, since that does seem to be what the City is turning into, thanks to the madness of other curses when I've thought myself the sultan of Turkey or a traveler somewhere in the western reaches of America. But that would be a bit much, I think.

I'm not sure where we might be expected to go and I do feel that things will turn worse before they improve. That's always the way of the City. One can be sure that things can only get worse until the improve.

I suppose we ought to be glad that it doesn't seem to be an invasion. Not yet, at least. The 'deities' seem to be rather silent about all this too. And no new faces amongst them either. But I still think there's more to this than first appears.

This is most certainly not the end of this ordeal.

~C.

[ooc: Note!! Due to the weirdness of the barrier between the Cities, Cain's filter probably only works in the City in which he is. So...it might fail on the other side. Static is rampant over there, sure, but...you might not be locked out. Also, to Cain's credit, he's not hauling a lot of things. He knows when to abandon ship. Now, that doesn't mean he's leaving the valuable poisons behind (shhh!), but he'll leave quite a lot (he'll get it back in the Glass City, once he gets there).]

Much as I hate to add to the complaints, this is getting ridiculous.

[He holds up what had been a pair of glasses, the sand collapsing between his fingers in seconds.]

[Then he shifts the camera to the remnants of his house. He's still got a couch, and all of about two walls. The rest is sand.]

My survival skills haven't gotten a... chance like this in quite awhile. I don't remember any curse lasting this long before. Might as well bring out the camels at this point.

Most of my pantry's been spared, at least. I expect it to go soon. [a pause] Michael? Are you still here?

Dean Winchester
15 February 2012 @ 07:05 pm
[The video shows Dean sitting on the hood of the Impala. He's got a handgun next to him and he's drinking an actual bottle of water.]

Anyone out there alone, I'm in the Impala. Find a landmark, stay in one place and let me know where you're at. I'll come get you. I've got a cooler with some beer and water, a full tank of gas and more in the trunk plus some Twinkies.

Sammy, quit with radio silence bullshit. Let me know where you're at.

[He's very worried about his baby brother and it's apparent in his voice.]

Rose Tyler
15 February 2012 @ 08:41 pm
[Rose looks a bit frantic on the video screen. She's in the city of glass but it's almost impossible to tell where in the city she's at exactly. She's spent all day running about looking for any of the doctors. To say she's in a state of panic, would be putting it mildly. In fact, she's run the gamut of panic-type emotions today. She started out with mild panic that advanced to full blown panic and eventually sobs fueled by panic. She's finally made it to the determination portion of the panic program. She's got her jaw set squarely but her eyes are still wide, cheeks streaks and smeared a bit with mascara from the sobbing stage.]

I don't know what's happened or why we've got so many people missin' but m'goin' to find the Doctors and the rest of my friends.

[She leans a bit closer to the camera.]

Doctors, don't know if you can hear me or not, but m'tryin' to find a way to get you back, where ever you are.

[Several months ago after a particularly brutal curse, the Doctor with the hair soniced Rose's device up a bit so in the desert city, the video is probably static-filled and the audio cuts out a bit but it's likely better than expected.]
