Penny

Hey there, everyone who's visiting! I really hope you're having a good time and finding everyone you want to find.

If anyone needs anything at all, there's a building just off the main square--you know, where the door and the fountain are--called the Welcome Center. Just look for the big blue sign. I've got a bunch of coats and shoes if you didn't bring your parka with you, there's food--courtesy of the Blue Light, which is a really great place--and I can hook you up with a bed since this looks like you'll all be here a couple of days.

And if you don't really need anything, it's totally okay to drop by and hang out. There're chairs and central heating, and I'll have hot chocolate and tea standing by.

Take care, and try to stay warm!

Korra, Yin? If you guys hear this, don't worry about coming in, okay?

[action options]

Friday, February 14th
[The first day is always kind of chaotic, and folks who come by the Welcome Center might have to search long and hard for Penny as she runs around the City to get everything together. The Center's doors will be open whether or not she's there. Handwritten signs taped to walls and cabinet doors will encourage visitors to make themselves at home and help themselves to anything they need. Don't go up the stairs, though! There's a door at the top with a sign requesting that it stay shut. There aren't any Valentine's Day decorations, but the chocolates left out on counter tops and side tables make up for that, right?

Anyone who does manage to track Penny down might find her friendly enthusiasm a bit forced.]

Saturday, February 15th through Sunday, February 16th
[Everything is in order and Penny will be around, ready to help or chat. Don't want to talk? That's cool, too! There're hot drinks and snacks on hand, and loitering in the common room is more than encouraged. Want some privacy? The Youth Center (currently serving as a hostel for interdimensional travelers), conveniently located a couple of City blocks away, offers that. Just ask Penny for directions and keys.

Or, you know, talk to her. She really does like talking to people, friends and strangers alike.]

[ooc: Open to pretty much everything! Indicate a time in your tag if you want, but that's not necessary. Threadjack, have characters meet up (do let me know in the subject line if you don't want Penny butting in), throw doubles or facetwins at her, whatever! (But no killing, maiming, or petty theft without asking, please.)]

[Voice Post]

Why, do you know--I do think this is the very first time all four of us have been together in the same place like this! Isn't that the oddest thing? Daddy's been through once or twice before, and of course Mother's come to call, and lately it's been Alexander, more often than not, but I really don't think that in all this time it's ever been--

Perhaps it's simply that this was the first we'd ever gotten an invitation?

Well, perhaps so, but that doesn't quite explain why Daddy turned up late, does it?

Now, hold on just one minute there--

She does have a point, dear. Where did you get off to?

I went for my morning stroll past the lake! Imagine my surprise when I came home to an empty castle and Gerwain wagging a finger at me like I'd been caught with my hand in the cookie jar!

--Again.

--Again.

[Laughter.] Kids!

Well, what matters is that we're all here now. Rosella, dear, you're looking so well--and so tall! Come now, let's use our time wisely. I'm sure we all want to meet everyone we can, while we have the chance.

Oh, yes, of course! Er--let me just switch this off, then, and--oh, that's right, what I was going to say is, we'll all be at the Blue Light this evening, and of course everyone is invited to come and bring their visitors as well!

[Click.]

[OOC: Today, for a limited time only, the entire Royal Family of Daventry is here for your threading disposal! Because nothing says a happy ending like a family reunion. COME AT THEM, I SAY.]

Justin Pendleton

[Justin doesn't bother making a post. Neil has already articulated his thoughts on the door, and anyone who wants to find him will know that he's either at the Police Station or in Xanadu. (He would spend more time in the apartment, but the thought that Neil and Todd might end up separated if the door works is more distressing when he's around them.)

He has a bouquet of pink orchids with him. Homegrown, of course, and intended for one very specific visitor, if she comes. She has to come. If the door works, this might be his last chance to see her.

It might be his last chance to see anyone. Justin is, as usual, not optimistic about the outcome of the experiment with the door. At best, everyone with somewhere to be will leave. At worst--well, he's torn between worst-cast scenarios. Either the City could be destroyed and take everyone with it or the Anonymous Movement could force everyone out. (Okay, the first is worst, but the outcomes are equally distasteful. He would lose the only people he cares about either way.) Such lines of thought make Justin even broodier than usual, which is a significant achievement.

Maybe, for once, the worst won't happen.]

[ooc: Anything goes! No, really. Go ahead and assume that he's been available since the fourteenth.]

So - what does everyone think about this door? The possibility of going home, which in some cases would be finally? [A long pause, after which follows a sad laugh.] I don't know what to feel of it.

[Silence stretches for so long it might as well be eternal. Cricket sounds and all. And then, with a brighter tone,]

Now, visitors. The ones of you I know - if you can't find a moment to come say hello, I will be more than cross. And - this is a lot to ask, as usual - Jamie, if you're there...

...yeah.

[ooc; WALL HER.]

I don't see how this is any different than the other times we've had an influx in visitors. The Anonymous Movement acts like this is something completely new. Just because they slapped a door up doesn't make it special.

[Truth be told, he's... unsettled and skeptical about the prospect of returning home. The lack of deities and still the need for curses...? How do they know this won't fuck everything up? Will people be able to stay?

He goes to look out the nearby window, his expression melancholy]

It's been nice to see old friends again at least. It always is. I wonder if they'll stay this time...

[His expression perks up as he realizes something]

Oh. Jack. If you're out there, you should come visit. I'm at Diva's Mansion. I can give you directions. ♥

[OOC: Come at me bro. 8D Everyone and anyone. He'll be hanging around the mansion or xanadu if you want action.]

[A rather pleased and slightly bemused Theo clicks onto the Network. He feels the need to announce this to everyone, even if no one cares.]

I'm having twins!

[Then he pauses and realizes what he says.]

I mean Adrienne. My wife. She's going to have twins! I'm going to be the father of twins!

[Yes. So the 4th wall weekend did bring him some rather happy news.]
