I'm having twins!

[Then he pauses and realizes what he says.]

I mean Adrienne. My wife. She's going to have twins! I'm going to be the father of twins!

[Yes. So the 4th wall weekend did bring him some rather happy news.]

I haven't a clue. I mean... well... I know if at least one of them is a boy my father's going to want to name them after a Lord of the Rings character... theme naming... but... I guess a boy and a girl wouldn't be too bad.

That way we can like have all the girly things and boyish things.

Yeah. I know! Thank you. I'm just... I can't believe it. I mean I knew she was possibly pregnant... but I didn't think twins. Though I suppose it makes some sort of sense, I mean Adrienne is part of a set of triplets. I don't know of any twins on my side of the family...

[He doesn't know if he should be happy or fearful or both or just what to do. He's just so ... beyond belief. In the meantime he'll just ramble incoherently.]

[One baby would be far too much for Ruby, never mind two.]

What if they're identical? How will you tell them apart? Or I guess as a dad, that's something you may just instinctively know.

[Fortunately Theo has a large enough extended family to help with that, including his father who will try to be over involved in the little ones lives. And a brother in law who possibly may accidentally use them to help in his experiments.]

I honestly have no idea. I mean... Adrienne and her sister are identical -they're not twins. They have a brother - but Anna is most definitely rounder in shape and quite different in personality than Adrienne is. So, I'm sure they won't be creepy clones of each other. And I work with a set of twins that are identical enough to pass off as the other and do at times but they've also have different personalities.

So, I'm assuming they'll have different personalities even if they look alike.

I have twin cousins, and when they were kids the only way you'd be able to tell them apart is that one wore yellow and one wore green. It wasn't just that they stuck together, it was ... I don't know, it was like they both sucked the personality out of each other. When you caught one on their own, though, they could be pretty fun. [She quickly adds,] I know your kids won't be like that, though.

Oh, I'm sure they won't. At least I hope not.

[Brief worried look of worry.]

But, I know what you're talking about. And we'll make sure to treat them as individuals. Adrienne said that there will be no theme naming. She's Adrienne and then her sister is Adrianna and their brother is Adrian.

...Wow. I guess you're staying away from anything beginning with 'A' altogether, then.

Yeah. I know that if one of them is a boy my father's going to want to name him after a character from this book he really likes. It's where he got my name from. I haven't a clue what to do about a girl's name.
