Lucy Locke
26 May 2013 @ 02:25 am
[The video screen comes up on one lightly tan arm and shoulder. The fringes of blonde hair can be seen brushing against skin. There's a couple of seconds of someone singing softly and humming along to unheard music. It's a song by one of those new boy bands from England. After a moment a hand picks the device up to move it and the owner of the device notices that it's on. There's a quick flash of the rest of the owner and Lucy's face comes into view. She's lying in a lounger on top of the roof of her building in a bikini doing some sun bathing.]

Hi. I didn't turn you on. The device I mean, not the City because duh. Clearly. Anyway, since you are tuned in. This month has been different. I mean with all the curses. So impromptu poll:

Does it mean anything outside of choice B? And if so, what?

Or choice B:

Are the deities simply bored and getting more creative in their boredom?

That's your philosophical question of the day. Not that it's really all that philosophical. My professor would give me like a C for effort, but that's about it.

[ Private to Chekov]

Grab your suit and come sunbathe with me. Or your sunscreen. Do Russians sunbathe? I'm gonna go with no...I injected a watermelon with vodka. It's in the icebox chilling out.

Dewey
26 May 2013 @ 09:57 am
[This is not where Dewey is supposed to be. Perhaps that isn't surprising; Dewey doesn't always stay where he's supposed to be. He's also alone, which is equally unsurprising, because his family is not always the most attentive as his brothers can easily drive his parents to stress-borne distraction. What is unusual is the place in which he's found himself; a city, expansive and impressive, the fountain and carousel in the center, all the streets filled with people, many of whom look like they came right out of fiction.

For his part, Dewey isn't fazed by being here alone. He's fine, this place looks amazing, and he has a new toy that he's poking at which is way cooler than anything he has back home - plus, it seems like it's actually new, and not broken. When you're fourth in line, legitimately new things are unusual. The feed activates, and he smiles.]

Hi. I'm Dewey.

[He's banking on his adorableness to help him out a bit here, but he's not really playing it up.]

I think I just got here. I'm not totally sure, because I'm not sure where here is, but it's definitely not where I was.

[Because he was just on a dude ranch in New Mexico. But he gives a tiny, easy shrug.]

But that's okay. Can somebody tell me where I can get something to eat? I want pizza. Or, if you can order delivery on this, I'll be on the carousel.

Okay, bye.

[And true to his word, he's off to the carousel.]

(carolena) lady of sorrows

[[ooc; I split up 24th/25th because this set contains triggering subject matter of suicide/self-harm.]]

[The singing has changed since the day before, tempting voices echoing all throughout the City. Hers is still low in its pitch, but her sonorousness has finally found its melody, and her coaxing reaches out to you:]

Dr. Marie Delacroix :: Engineering

DELACROIX to NETWORK: 05-01-???? re: RESIST

Do not listen. You must resist.

[ action ]

[ This has happened before, the singing. The infernal singing picking and plucking at her will. It has no effect on Marie any longer, not because of a spectacular strength of mind, although she certainly has that. It saved her from the annelids who had sung to her on her ship, who had desecrated the Von Braun and all of its crew with the sweet promise of unity. Of power as one.

Perhaps it is experience that saves Marie's mind. Perhaps it is the paranoia born of it: she cannot be lulled into trust, into belief.

And she is determined to save the others from whatever ill-fate the sirens seek for them. She's very heavily armed as she makes her way into the streets, but there is a certain intimacy she has begun to favor in a pistol. ]

Setsuna Mudou
26 May 2013 @ 10:48 am
[Here's a face that hasn't shown in while. Setsuna's seated, device to the side, book in his lap. Mist curls around a dark manor popping up out of the book while Setsuna stares at it. He's unaware he's a month behind on Karl's departure.]

Just watching this, I was wondering, in your world, where do you believe you go when you die? [He talks, but never looks at the device, expression grim.] How universal are Heaven and Hell?

I hope Karl goes to some place decent. That guy doesn't need to be hurt anymore. He needs help.

[A hand, pale, slender and clearly not Setsuna's, snakes around Setsuna's chest, and Setsuna frowns.]

I told you to knock that off! I have no idea what he told you about me, but this is doing nothing for me.

[There might be a brief glimpse of the hand's owner before the device clicks off.]
