[The image on the screen shows the (Second) Doctor coming out of the TARDIS and looking at his surroundings. Today, something is very different. Instead of the usual sights of the City, he’s surrounded by cornstalks that reach pretty high above the TARDIS’ roof. He looks behind the TARDIS and sees the way blocked by a wall of cornstalks.]

Well, this is certainly different. Only one way to go it seems.

[He begins walking and turns left, seeing more cornstalks with a few ways which he could go. He taps a finger to his chin, gets an idea, and rushes back to the TARDIS. A few minutes later, he emerges with a ball of yarn, and a few more stuffed in his pockets. He ties an end to the door handle and starts moving with the string unwinding.]

What’ll this place think of next?

(ooc. Struck with the corn maze. Anyone is welcome to bump into him.)

[The thick salt ring around the Opera House stopped the corn's advance. Boney and other creepy, bloody skulls displayed along the ring's outer boarder serve as a warning: KEEP OUT or TROPHY!!

Up on the porch, collie sized pink dragon lounges. When push comes to shove, Prince's name and color become the only cute things about him. Gnawing on a broadsword, metal eating beast is working his way thru confiscated weapons pile - some of the attackers were armed. All had their heads.

He Who Kills sits hunched on the bottom step, glaring at the field maze.]
Is no time for farming!

SPOCK.

[ Really, the last thing he expects when stepping out of the apartment is a corn maze. Given the nature of the curses this month, he immediately reaches for his phaser and turns back to the door. ]

Nyota?

[ That wall of corn wasn’t there before. He brushes it aside and continues for several minutes, attempting to push his way past it, but the door’s gone. ]

[And the last thing she expects once the door closes halfway behind Spock is her name being called. No, scratch that. It’s also the corn, the many stalks of it lining what used to be her hallway, twisting and turning around her with no exit in sight. After a few months of being in the City, she should be used to it, but Nyota swears she never will, especially anything to do with agriculture in a place where it doesn’t belong.

There was a door there, right behind her. Now there’s not. And all she can do is follow Spock’s back in front of her, brushing threads of cornsilk from her face.]

Right here… behind the corn? Why is there corn? And do you plan on stunning it?

[Put the phaser away, Spock. Seriously. It’s just corn.]

I have not fired my phaser. [ He almost sounds sheepish, but he hasn’t put the weapon away. ] Given the nature of events this month, it is not an unlikely assumption that this will be dangerous - either the plants themselves or any… inhabitants.

[ A pause. Why is there corn? He doesn’t have his tricorder on him and wishes he did. ]

It’s corn… I’m doubtful it will attack us. It would have done so by now, right? [But he has a point, so she’ll defer to his weaponry, especially since she poked her head out of the apartment without her own phaser.] We should double check with whoever we can hail outside of here and make sure this corn isn’t any weirder than it already is before we walk any further.

[And find somebody who knows where the exit is and maybe they could tell her why it seems like she’s back in Iowa.]

[ At her behest, he fires off a quick text: ]

Has the corn attempted to attack anyone?

[ooc: blue for Spock, red for Uhura. Feel free to run into them anywhere.]

[ Might as well talk to people on the network - it's not like he's got anything better to do right now. The observant viewer may note that the corn over his shoulder appears to be quite scorched, but he has neither his suit nor an immediate source of fire handy. ]

Congratulations, you broke science.

[It is late evening. The recording begins, but little can be seen except the silhouettes of corn stalks and red twilight behind them. The corn stalks rustle and sway when the wind blows.

Then come footsteps, clicky-clocky, crunching along in the dirt between the rows. And by the sound of them, one has to wonder if anything will grow where those feet fall. The corn stalks glide past. Even-metered, the footsteps count out a rhythm, as they always do.

Then comes a man's voice, singing low and dark:]

...hunted like a crocodile...ravaged in the corn...

[Crunching footsteps...

Crunching footsteps...

Crunching footsteps...

The voice again, low and dark:]

"Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm."

[Crunching footsteps...

Crunching footsteps...

Crunching footsteps...

Then, low and dark as the singing, the song is picked up with whistling. Low and dark, low and dark. The corn stalks glide past, silhouetted against a red twilight.]

[//video post ends]

[ooc: Canon references, for those who want them. And if you would like to encounter someone who may or may not actually be He Who Walks Behind the Rows (no, really: the jury's kind of still out on this one), please feel free. Just expect creepy creeping.]

[Accidental Video]

[A single sheet of paper fills the lens of Piglet's network device, blocking any direct sight of it's owner. On it, in a childlike scrawl of misshapen letters (some backwards) can be read. You see, Piglet's never been able to get the hang of texting without the long thin fingers that human types of people possess. The words read as such:

"Halp. I am stuk.  -Piglit"  ]

[ooc: Piglet, having been trapped amongst extremely tall mazes of corn is doing the only sensible thing and waiting to be found. He's near his device, but may have nodded off with all the waiting he's been doing these last few hours. In the meanwhile, he's written a note.]

[July has been stuck in this maze for awhile before he finally makes a post about it. Probably for the best really. He is stuck.]

I am lost.

[It happens when there is a lack of glass.]

[Michael can be seen staring at a corn wall. True he could try to fly over it but he has other things on his mind. Very important things.]

Do you think it's a bad idea to burn these walls?

[Just asking.]

Will it destroy everything?
