Xhex
27 March 2013 @ 12:56 am
[Xhex is standing, holding the device pointed at a rather brightly colored and very large egg.]

So the last time something like this showed up in the City, we were all given the option of trades...anyone want to lay bets on what happens this time?

Garrus Vakarian
27 March 2013 @ 01:53 am
[Garrus is currently searching the bushes out in the park.]

Where'd it go?

[He soon finds what he was looking for, namely a tennis ball he was bouncing off a park wall earlier. Before he stands up, something catches his eye.]

What the..?

[He bends down to pick it up, revealing it to be a blue, sparkly egg. He shakes it to see if there's anything inside. Nothing.]

Huh.

[Shrugging, he tucks it under his arm and heads for home. He'll just put it on his kitchen table when he gets home, and hope it doesn't explode or something.]

[Ken looks a little perplexed and gravely serious, holding onto a white egg with pink hearts. He holds it firmly, possessively. If anyone tried to take it from him, they would face a side of Ken they likely haven't seen yet.]

I don't know where the eggs came from, but this one is mine. [He's far more certain about it than he was when he first saw a similar one in the Digital World.]

Do we need to do anything for them? Keep them warm? [Uncertainty for that part.]

Utsuho Reiuji
Out of the way!

[Utsuho blasts past a couple of people taking a walk, nearly bowling them over. She is running around like a maniac from place to place, the scenery zipping by as the device records her actions.]

Rocks, I need rocks. Here's a good one.

[She snatches up a bucketful of sand.]

Sand will work...ash, I need ash.

[With a roaring blast from her cannon, she pulses fusion fire all over a few trees in the forest, reducing them to little charred piles in an instant. This, she gathers into the bucket also, and zips off...towards the Temple, it seems. She does this a few more times, collecting buckets of ash, then rocks, then sand, and after a while, it becomes apparent that her mission is to build some kind of big nest-mound in one of the Temple's rooms. The place seems to be vacated. For all that she seems a little flighty, she clearly knows what she's doing here -- instinct is powerful, after all.]

More ash...these pebbles will work for the underlayer...there, okay.

[Once she has this rough mound, she makes a deep dent, heats up the rocks to a nice glow, and places on it...an egg, maybe a foot long, bronze with a fiery orange sheen to its shell. A spiral of smoke twists off the surface every so often.]

There.

[She gleams gold and shifts into her raven form, then perches herself over the egg and gently leans atop it.]

Not going anywhere until this thing hatches. It seems pretty far along...but who was taking care of it before? Who just dumps an egg on the sidewalk like that?
...
...
...
.......Okay, I'm not sure I'm ready for this.

City, uh, er...what do you do with chicks? I guess I feed it or something. But...but...but what else? Do I try to make it smarter so it becomes a youkai like me? I don't have a flock, so I guess it can be the start of one? Do I just let it do what it wants?

I don't know anything about raising chicks!

Lockdown
27 March 2013 @ 01:08 pm
[Lockdown enters his workshop with an egg tucked under his arm. It's huge when compared to the other eggs, but to scale with him relative to the other eggs found. The egg is black and green, with a metallic shine to it.]

Not my usual trophy, but it'd make a nice conversation starter.

[He puts the egg on a nearby shelf, near the allosaurus skull.]

27 March 2013 @ 03:24 pm
[ Attached is a picture of an egg nestled in the farthest corner of Eames' backyard, Pancake tentatively sniffing it. ]

I don't think I've come across anything free in the City that led to something good. Beer coming out of the pipes, getting pelted by items falling out of the sky, so on and so forth ...

I'm placing a few coins that what comes out of these eggs is alien, hungry, and aims directly for the face.

[Children are scurrying about in the nearby graveyard, happily collecting.

When kids are hunting for eggs around tombstones, Easter's a few days away, and the mystery 'Bunny' has left something special on your office desk (the Inbox, cheekily enough) - well, why bother making any attempt to turn off the feed.

Or downplay the glass of blood sharing blotter space with the little orange speckled egg you're now intently examining.

Or acknowledge the audience, who can see your beatific smile at said egg.]

[Have a charming and disarming smile from a pretty young woman. She looks innocent and kind.]

Hello,
I need a doctor that won't ask question and can take house calls.

[She's also blunt and to the point.]

Thank you~ [She says in a sweet sing song voice before turning the video off.]

Lucy Locke
27 March 2013 @ 07:05 pm
[Lucy is at the shop today as per usual. She's got an egg behind the register sitting in a snug nest of tissue paper she's stuffed inside her handbag. She's restocking, working on displays and all the usual sorts of retail things while keeping an eye on the egg. Feel free to come bother her.]

Audio;

While I'm pretty sure it'll try to eat my face off when it hatches, I'm keeping it anyway. I mean Ingram started out on fire and he's turned into a very sweet bunny.

[The video feed is short, but direct: it shows an egg, much like any of the others that have been popping up around the city, resting on a table indoors. The shell is a dark, speckled black ringed with dull brownish spots.]

Hello everyone
What exactly are these things ?
A lot of people have been saying they are eggs but this doesnt look like any egg ive ever seen
Does anyone know whats inside them ?

Diva
27 March 2013 @ 10:22 pm
[ Diva's uncertain as uncertain things go. To keep the egg, or not to keep the egg? It does so remind her of her own, still sitting in their basket by the hearth. It's been five months already. Surely they should be speaking to her by now...

But that's digressing and it's with a quiet murmur, the near silent thud of a blanket cocooning her phone that speaks to the viewer. It's the gentle crone of a mother singing to her as yet unborn children that drifts on dulcet tones through the speaker as she sits with her back bent over her basket, rocking it gently in the sun.

And then she speaks. ]
Tell me, has anyone tried to cook their eggs? Perhaps if I feed it to them, they'll start to grow...

[ it was blood that awoke her and Saya after all. Perhaps that's exactly what they needed to start flourishing. Five months... they should be pulsing with life, not death. They should be more then just a withered husk. ]

I've found...an egg. It was nestled in my hamper and, well, it looks quite strange. I can't easily identify it as a bird egg - the shell seems too thick - but I can't rule out that possibility either. Then again, what is a bird doing laying an egg in my hamper?

[This has to be the work of the Deities.]

I don't have the heart to get rid of it and I'm certainly not going to eat it. [Hamper eggs could do all sorts of things to you! ...maybe.]

Has anyone else come across an egg?

[Added after she views the network:] I see that my egg isn't the only one. Now I'm not sure what to do with it.

[Narrowing her eyes, she holds up her egg and examines it closely.]

That is really one gorgeous egg. Can't help but wonder what they're for. You never can tell with the City.

Could be really dangerous or could grant you a wish or something from home.

So the question is... Do you take a chance?

I'm thinking I might.

So if my home blows up, well, we'll know I chose wrong.

They're so pretty!!

What do you think they will grow up to be?

I can hear them in there, almost like they're dreaming.
