[Jace is currently at the beach sprawled out in the sand. He knows his device is only showing his profile but really doesn't give a damn.]

So apparently you thought it was a good time to up and leave, Du. Wonderful. Good for you.

[He tosses a rock up into the air and catches it.]

Nice to know that it's still so easy for people to just leave this place. Thank you so much for that pleasant little reminder, City. I truly appreciated it far more than words could ever express.

[Sitting up, he shakes sand from his hair. He doesn't have separation issues. Nope...none at all.]

I think it's time that I departed for awhile too. You know what? I think I'll give it a try.

[Grabbing his device, he smirks darkly.]

Farewell, dear City. I think I will be leaving you all for a bit.

[And he throws his device out into the water.]

[ooc: It should be noted that Jace hasn't gone anywhere. He's just being a child and will be replying to messages he gets once the City gives him his device back. You're still stuck with the brat, City. Enjoy.]

Olivia Dunham
[ Before the video even switches on, there's a musical introduction that blares through the speakers of her device.  As the song comes to a dramatic end, Olivia finally flashes onto the screen.

She appears this time, not in the bowels of some mad scientist's lab or midst the foggy depths of some intermediary dimension, but in her apartment, wrapped up in an over-sized Northwestern sweatshirt. The device is set at a distance where you can see her in a chair and the plain, white wall behind her. Dark rings line the bottom of her eyes and a smattering of tiny cuts mark the skin above her cheek.
]

I apologize if my disappearance caused any inconveniences.

[ She fidgets, folding her hands together.  The quiet moment is suddenly interrupted by a fast-paced, action track. Unwittingly, she's been hearing the soundtrack to her own series all day.  ]

And this music just.... really needs to stop.

Captain Jack Harkness ☯ Doctor Who / Torchwood

[Jack is standing in the square, looking up and around at the City and then back down at the Vortex Manipulator on his wrist.] Oh, come on. You had to malfunction now? I mean you've done it before, but...

[Another few brisk taps at the wristband.] Work! If you don't work, a lovely second in command named Bernard is going to be very disappointed when he's stood up. And seriously, of all the places...

[Another sigh as he looks around him again. No way had he wanted to come back to Earth yet. It had been a couple of months but all that guilt he carried still felt as if he'd only acquired it yesterday. He wasn't ready to be here on Earth again. At least it seemed Earth-like...]

Well isn't this nifty? And convenient... [He spots the device and eyes it for a few accessing moments before picking it up. It's rare that Jack shies away from alien technology so he he instantly begins to fiddle with it. The video comes on to a brightly smiling Jack.] Ah, there we go. Captain Jack Harkness here. [And since he knows his smile is impressive, he nods his agreement with what others obviously must be thinking at the sight of it.] I know.

Seems I'm a little bit off course from where I intended to materialize. Malfunctioning Vortex Manipulator. Anyone care to put me up for the night while I work on repairing it? [A glance to his left at the coffee shop and then an arched brow back into the video screen.] I'll be sure to con you a cup of coffee for your trouble.

[Hey Poly. Remember that very effeminate, high pitched voice with the Russian accent? No? Well, here he is to refresh your memory.]

... Well, well. It seems I've wound up in The City once more. How long has it been this time...? 3 weeks? A month? I can't imagine what year it is now.

[the screen flickers on to show a pretty man with silver hair, in a green uniform minus his hat]

I wonder if any of you still remember me. I'd be rather crushed if you didn't... After all, there aren't many men quite like me.

[The network is treated to a close-up of a rather good-looking face, topped with a neatly coifed head of blond hair. When it pulls back a fraction, the man appears to be wearing an elaborate Victorian frockcoat in bright blue with silver insets. He gives the network a dazzling grin.]

Good afternoon, all. Or is it morning? It was afternoon when I left, but inter-dimensional travel does tend to mess with ones timeline just a fraction so I’m not going to assume it’s the same time it was back in Ingary. We’ll just stick with ‘Good Day’, shall we?

You can imagine my surprise when I was expecting to step into another rainy day in Wales and discovered it had dried up quite a bit. Now I’ve done my research, and I must say this place is hardly original. At the very least you could have given it an appropriate title. Something better than ‘The City’. Honestly, If I’m going to be kidnapped at least I’d prefer it was by someone with a little style.

Now could someone please tell me where a fellow can get a drink around here. I was on my way to my university rugby club reunion when these Deities decided to snatch me up, and I was looking forward to getting well and truly sloshed..

[ooc: The Welsh Wizard is all up in your City, people. He managed to avoid the fountain, so action for anyone around the welcome centre.]

Yesterday was rather lovely, wasn't it? With the music and all. Certainly put a nice, optimistic spin on my day, I'll tell you that. Though I might not need to tell you. Yes, I was that girl, dancing down the street - in case anyone saw, and was wondering.

And no, completely sane, despite the time in the desert.

Speaking of, I'm still picking sand from under my finger nails. Does anyone else have that problem, or has that traumatic 'oh it's just the City being a wanker to everyone' experience been forgotten?

I'm thinking a pub crawl might be in order, and if not tonight, then soon.

Anyone up to joining me?

[Nathan is slumped on the couch at Dulcie's old flat, idly flicking ash from the joint he's smoking onto the floor. He also has Stephen Stills' cat on his lap and a sequinned cowboy hat on his head. They have sentimental value, okay? Despite all the other signs, however, he looks fairly cheerful.]

So, turns out gambling's best done sober. I've lost count of the amount of times that's turned out badly.

Anyone fancy a drink? I could use someone to buy for me.

What's your favorite movie? And if someone wasn't a big cinema buff, what would you make them watch to show them an example of a really great movie? I have a feeling the answer's gonna differ for a lot of people. What we like best isn't always the 'best' thing, but the thing that fits, somehow, with ourselves...

But I'm asking for practical reasons, more than philosophical ones. This City has a movie theater, after all.
