Yin
[The person known as Yin is seated at her piano, basking in the light of the moon. And on her face is an impossible smile. It's soft and gentle, like the light she's bathing in.]

However horrible it is here, I can't think it's all bad. Not when the moon comes out. Being in this light again makes it easier. This place isn't so awful. Not to me.

[After saying that, she starts to play the piano for a time. A far more happier tune than Yin might have picked. When she finishes, though, there's a slight frown of concentration as she reaches for the device. Her fingers flicker over the screen for a moment before it switches off.]

[Options for run ins:

[A - Day time, at the Welcome Center: Everyone will be greeted with a brilliant smile, whether co-worker or new arrival, or just stopping by.]

[B - Mid-day, on the streets: She's attempting to take the same path home as she did to work, but there are more people than there were in the early morning, and Yin's forehead crinkles in distress when she bumps against people that get irritated with her. She tries to politely explain it's difficult, but not everyone cares to listen. At times she feels the buildings and certain landmarks to continue on. Maybe she should get a seeing-eye dog that would get along with her cat?]

[C - Moonlit meeting in her apartment: For anyone that knows her well enough, they can meet at her apartment, where she plays the piano, far more than she has ever since she acquired it. The moonlight spills in from an open window, allowing anyone to either spy in.

[ooc: Post backdated to last night. Cursed with "Road not taken", what if Yin hadn't become a Doll. She's a normal teenage-adult, more aware of her place in the world as a woman. Perhaps scarred by past events, but still able to smile. Void of her specter and blind, but full of emotion.]

[Julie wanted to check out the Hall of the missing so, sometime in the afternoon, she finds herself wandering the building. She carefully examines pictures, possibly looking for familiar faces but she finds none.

Or...oooh, that can't be good. She's found one and this is about where the feed kicks on. She turns the device towards a portrait. Her own.]

Hey, guys? Is this a c---

[Her device drops suddenly, a loud clatter as it bounces on the floor. It spins once before landing on Julie's portrait, the girl herself nowhere to be seen except for a picture on a wall.]

[ooc: decided it was time to canon update Julie. She'll be gone until Saturday. Peter, take care of her cat and her R. Mercy, she's calling out Missing and for all her other housemates at Mercy's beach house...for real, take care of R for her.]

[ video ]
[The screen flicks on to Pai's....brightly smiling face? What the fuck?!?! says anyone who knows her. Which isn't that many people.]

Is this on? Ah, yes! Hello everyone!

[She grins and waves.]

My brother got me a brand new tablet! It's so much cooler than my old one! Thank you, brother!

Anyway, I hope everyone's doing okay today! And if you're cursed, just remember that it will all be over tonight! You can make it!

[She makes a peace sign.] Bai bai!

[ action ]
[For anyone who ever wondered what Pai would be like if she wasn't a Contractor, well, the answer is: a silly perky teenage girl who likes to do silly teenage things. Like spending all of her brother's money on clothes, play video games at the arcade, and eat parfaits while people watching. She's a little too shy to outright approach a stranger, but she's eager to make new friends.]

[ See Derek Hale's living room floor. See a tiny, chubby little child concentrating really, really hard. He might have been the one to accidentally turn the feed on considering he was touching the device only five minutes ago, but who knows? Now see the dumbbell lift from under the sofa and float several inches off the ground. ]

D'rick, look! [ The little boy grins really wide and automatically lifts his arms to be swept up into the usually grumpy embrace of the house owner. ] I told you!

[ The next voice is Derek's, less gruff than usual. ] Guess you did. Next you can work on making yourself float. Ready for breakfast?

( ooc: so remus lupin has been de-aged and has totally spent the weekend just imprinting on derek hale. come watch the wonder of the sour wolf tamed. all of remus' responses will come from [personal profile] littlefurryproblem. )

It's funny. I used to think that, once I got to Paris...once I figured out where I came from, who I'm supposed to be, once all that fell into place, I didn't think that I'd really miss Russia too much. I mean, I can't remember it being home. I just remember it as a place I used to live.

But I actually do miss it. I miss Russia. I miss the long winters and the dark nights, and the snow and cold...I miss the food, the music...I remember that one year, there was a travelling salesman who stopped by the orphanage. It was right around Christmas, I think, and he'd have all these used toys and things to give to the children, and I got this little matryoshka doll. It wasn't a complete one, I think it was missing a few of the other dolls, but it was still nice, and...

Well, there was just something familiar about it. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was like...like a simpler version of something I used to know.

Of course, Comrade Phlegmenkof made me give it to one of the younger girls almost immediately. I pitched such a fit about that...

I wonder how she's doing. She must have been furious when I didn't go to the fish market like she told me to. Or maybe she didn't care. I mean, I was out of her hair, after all, there were plenty of other children to worry about...

....is it weird I miss her? That I miss the orphanage and the other children and Russia? It wasn't home, but...it was, I guess. Does that make sense? God, I must sound like an idiot right now.

[ooc: Roots Day! But since Anya can't remember her ACTUAL family heritage or roots, she's just thinking about Russia in general, and her time in the orphanage.]
