Julie Bastet Grigio

[Julie's coughing slightly as the feed turns on, a deep cough that sounds like it hurts. With the grimace that follows, it probably does. She clears her throat once or twice, groaning a bit before she plays that off and acts like she's totally one hundred percent okay. Nothing to see here. Just a blond girl in a blue hoodie with a basket of laundry on the bed behind her that she decided she didn't feel like folding and putting away.]

Question for anyone that wants to answer.

[Oh, Julie. Your voice sounds terrible. It's all scratchy and raw.]

What's your favorite movie? The last one I saw in theaters, I was seven. There really haven't been any new releases since.

[Because Zombies.]

And since I have a day or so off, I'd love some recommendations.

[There's a faint mew from behind her and a kitten peeks over her shoulder where it had been hiding in the hood of her sweatshirt. It wants the device. It must have the device. Crouched on her shoulder, it growls and wiggles before pouncing and...missing entirely.

Julie's laugh turns into a cough as she reaches both for the kitten and to turn the device off. Shes done.]

Luke Valentine

[Luke stands before a bonfire in the Square - City's Heart. Revelers have been feeding the blaze with alcoholic offerings from their own drinks. Few take notice when he tosses an unopened bottle into it. Even less hear his whistled tune as the fire roars and greedily consumes the expensive scotch.]

[The image on the screen shows the (Second) Doctor walking in the darkness through the streets towards what looks like a festival of some kind. He looks up at fireworks booming overhead and sees what looks like a bonfire up ahead.]

Finally, some light. Looks like some kind of celebration. I wonder what the occasion is.

[ He's watching the fireworks from the kitchen window because at least that way Bagel and Crepe can't escape and still have him around to stop them being like why did daddy leave us with the loud noises for now. He's already missing half a shirt and his favourite book because of October and he knows it's not good for either of their diets. Currently he's nursing a beer, wearing a soft looking shirt that's pushed up to the elbows. ]

You're kind of late for fourth of July. [ A hum and he takes a sip of his drink, the sky lit up with bright, brilliant colours. ] Or early. Guess it's either one of 'em future things or a celebration I just don't know about.

Someone gonna explain it t'me?

Gosh, they're beautiful...

[Rapunzel's just watching the fireworks from her window, smiling slightly.]

I mean, I don't like how dark its been today, but still...the fireworks are so nice...

[Her smile falls a little, looking rather sad for a moment.]

Percy would've loved this.

[Yeahh, she still misses Percy. It's been a while since he's been gone, but...

...But there's no point in being sad about things that can't be changed. So, after a moment, she perks up, pulling away from the window.]

...I think I'm going to go out and see the bonfires. I bet they look more impressive closer, they're just sort of glowy blobs from here.

 Has anyone seen Mr. Orange?

This is important. I think there's some kind of a Network error problem or something. He's not getting back to me.

That ain't right.

Private to Orange;;

Hey, Asshole. Are you mad or what?

[Hours later]

Kid, seriously. Quit it.

[Not long after that.]

Freddy, tell me you're okay. Twenty four hours, man. You know what that looks like don't you?

[ooc; This is exactly what it looks like :(]

Hei (Li Shenshung)

Oh perfect.

A light show. Just what's needed after a month of witches and possessed goats. Sure, everything seems mellow now. No zombies or general epidemics. But distractions are just that. Distractions. No amount of Burning Man rituals and fireworks take away from the fact that everyone is still stuck here. That's not exactly something worth celebrating.

Still, it could be worse. Pai could be gone. I could be back home. This 'perpetual darkness' theme could last more than 24 hours. Then there'd be no end to the belly-aching.

Of course that's a mixed blessing. Some of you are only tolerable in the pitch dark.

[ ooc: Don't be fooled. Despite the general grumpiness, Hei is actually rather enjoying the fireworks. Backtagging friendly forevermore; I'll be very slow this week<3 ]
