Rose Tyler

[The video feed flickers on to reveal Rose's flat in distress. Her couch is turned upside down, pillow feathers are everywhere, the bookcase is on the floor with books littering the floor. The main door opens, showing Rose walking in with bags in hand. The mess immediately catches her attention and her bags fall to the floor. She ventures deeper into the living room unaware of the Boney watching her from another room. It growls and she stops turning toward its source. Her eyes go wide and she screams. Immediately she starts to back away as it advances.

She decides going for the door is her only choice as she turns her back against the advancing creature and bolts for the door, shutting it behind her. Her heart races and her feet don't stop moving, she spots two more down the hall as the feed dies.]

[ooc: open to action if you want to run into her.]

The Flash (Wally West)

This zombie thing? Not cool. Not cool in the least. It's been awhile since I've protected a city from weird, otherworldly creatures, but it's kinda like riding a bike. You wobble a little at first, maybe you're a little rusty, but it's smooth sailing after awhile. You'd think they'd be easier to get rid of though, what with all the...lack of body. Anyway, does anyone need a hand? Anyone stranded? Everyone staying indoors?

Rapunzel, you're inside, right?

Wherever you are, City folk, I'll be around.

Flash, out.

[Action: Flash is currently running around town, trying to find anyone who might be trapped outside. He's avoiding the larger packs of Boneys and picking off any who might be alone by vibrating through them and exploding them. You may hear the sonic boom of him running past or the kabooms he leaves in his wake. Or you may just see a red blur. Or he may be knocking on your door asking for food.]

Michael Ginsberg

[The room is dimly lit, only one light in the room casting flickering shadows from the furniture onto the walls. At first, it's difficult to tell what the video could possibly be recording, since there doesn't appear to be anyone in the room.

Several moments later, however, when the door opens and a NPC man walks in, it becomes obvious that this is someone's apartment. And there's something moving in the shadows in the corner, something that slowly seems to be taking form where previously, there was nothing there at all. It appears to be a form, a form that seems to be made up of shadows itself, except that it's slightly darker than the shadows around it.

Slowly, it begins to move, spreading from the corner, taking on the distinct shape of a man, and then the shadow is moving more quickly. By the time it reaches the NPC man who's headed for the light switch to illuminate the place, it's taken on an almost solid form. Swiftly, the shadow wraps itself around the man, enveloping him, not giving him time to cry out. Within seconds, it's as though the shadow form has absorbed the man entirely, and the man slumps to the floor, seemingly lifeless.

The shadow's form is stronger now, sharper around the edges, and perhaps recognizable to those who have met him before. With no backward glances at the man lying on the floor, the shadow seems to float across the room, then out the door into the dark streets, looking for its next victim.]

[[OOC: Ginsberg is essentially a shadow monster, capable of attacking and draining the life from people, but it's not a permanent state -- he shifts back and forth, and when he's in the light, looks perfectly normal and corporeal. When he's in shadow, however... this is what you get. Feel free to run into him on the streets, or see this particularly pleasant attack on video.]]

James E. Wilson, MD

[ I: HOSPITAL ]

It's fortunate that Wilson isn't near the patient rooms when things really take hold - he's down on the first floor, not too far from the entrance, walking from getting coffee back up towards his office. He's not feeling too well, though, as he makes his way back. He stops, and he steadies himself against the wall with a hand, suddenly dizzy.

There's a stinging in his neck, and he doesn't quite have time to react before the surface of his skin rips open of its own accord. The resulting gash is ragged, ripped apart by teeth forced through the flesh they were never intended to pierce. It's a wound some have seen before, though many of those who could tell you where he got it have long since left the City. He falls to his knees and the coffee to the floor.

A few moments later, and he's gone. His body rises, but none of him remains, a deathly pallor seeping into his skin as the blood seeps into the collar of his lab coat. His chest and abdomen are wounded as well, but he moves swiftly in spite of them, on the hunt as he turns back toward the hospital's exit.

[ II: NETWORK ]

When he falls, his device clatters to the floor - the video clip is brief, capturing only the moment as he rises. There is a glimpse of the monstrous being now in Wilson's place before he turns and races away down the hallway and out of sight.

Clearly, he won't be responding.

[ III: CITY ]

He finds his way into the streets of the City out the front door of the hospital. No thoughts remain in his mind; only his hunger. He moves out into the night, on the hunt.
