Chekov, Pavel Andreievich

[Most of Chekov's entries start with a nice shot of whatever project he's working on or a disjointed preamble. This one, however, simply starts.]

For those who knew them, Doctor Leonard McCoy and Theresa Gray have left the City.

[It was quite a shock to find them both gone once midnight had rolled around and the weekend's curse passed. Chekov is still a little too stunned to process the information himself, but it feels important to let the network know that they have left.

He pauses as if he would like to say something else. When no words come to mind, he goes with the sign-off that's standard when making ship-wide announcements at home.]

Thank you for your time.

[Half of her was—is—strongly against making a post to the network at all, let alone one where people can see her, but she knows it’s more reassuring to see the person who vanished rather than anything less. Even if the person in question looks different from before. The Ginny Weasley that faces the camera today is younger than others might know her (because those who knew her when she first arrived are no longer in the City, save for a precious few). She’s thinner from the stress of the year and maybe more exhausted than she’d like to admit despite it being a week since the battle at Hogwarts. Then again, funerals are just as draining as fighting for your life.

Still, she’s smiling. And when she speaks, it’s soft and warm, though there’s a certain maturity to the tone that doesn’t match the face.]

Hullo, you lot. It’s been a bit, I think, though not by much on your end if the calendar’s anything to go by. Still, it’s been long enough that I should apologise, so—I am sorry about the way I snuck off home. If there’s anything I’m good at, it’s sneaking, but for once—I didn’t mean to.

I reckon I literally got caught up in all the crowds leaving over the weekend, otherwise I would’ve said goodbye. Probably just as well that I didn’t, though; seems a bit pointless since I came right back.

[She draws in a breath and looks away for a beat because her tone almost fell into bitterness and she has to keep away from that; outwardly, though, the composure doesn’t slip. She just feels so bloody weird about all this even with her memories settled. When Ginny looks back, she’s grinning, sweeping her hair over her shoulders.]

So, you heard it here first: a proper apology from Ginny Weasley! Does that make it up to you or do I owe hugs and dinners? [She pauses.] I hope I didn’t miss anything too important.

[ooc; Ginny Weasley is back from her final update! She is now from May 7, 1998, five days after the Battle of Hogwarts. She is also now back to being 16 years old instead of 19 since her time spent in the City, so for characters who only met her when she was older, that may be noticeable. Have at her!]

Can someone tell me if anyone knows how people arriving here works? I know we get pulled here, but does anyone know why sometimes people come in from the same universe all at once?

[Private to the Avengers + Bucky&Coulson | unhackable | Tony Stark's code]

Report. What's the status on Loki? How do we deal with this regarding civilians? Thor, what do you want to do? I know he's your brother but you know we can't let him be destructive, or try and take over, either.

[Private to Justin Pendleton | unhackable | Tony Stark's code]

I was told you're the one to come to regarding the Police Force.

Sometimes I get the feeling that this place is trying to make everybody out to be a bitching and moaning asshole. Everything can't be wine and roses. But I guess my opinion don't hold much weight since I didn't spend the weekend with a pussy or as a little kid.

I try and keep active, you know. Maintaining the upkeep of shit you own. Pride of ownership. And if you don't own anything you take care of, what's the fuckin' point. If you got your sanity, go ahead and keep it up. If you're even the slightly on a high, go with it.

Sealed note addressed to Hatter:

I am sorry for being delayed. Eden is overrun by those seeking solace after the curse plague.

If you haven't yet looked at the labels, my house warming gift's potency is designed with the otherwise (non-human) in mind. It's not meant for human consumption, unless of course you want to quickly kill one or more. Even when heavily diluted there's a chance of their dying, but more than likely they'll be hallucinating for several days.

And now onto a brief explanation of the Noah family; you know the story of Noah's Ark? They are the man's descendants. Dark skinned, yellow eyed humanoids with a band of black crosses on the forehead. Also posses magical abilities. None too happy with God - didn't completely wipe out the human race left on land.

More to come later.

[ Clint is up high, crouching on the rooftop of the apartment building where he lives, bow close to hand and visible on the video feed. He's engulfed in shadow, but the city casts enough light around him to make everything out more or less. He's quiet, thoughtful, as he watches, like he's waiting for something, but it's habit, what he does best, and it's comforting to be doing something he's used to, the open view giving him a sense of freedom.

If he's keeping a lookout for trouble, well, it's an added bonus that he happens to be prepared for it.

He sounds distant when he speaks, distracted, voice as dry as ever, but with something softer around the edges.
] So, City, this's what I do at night. How about the rest of you guys out there? Long way from home, I can't be the only one not sleeping.
