I'm not sure what people are looking for in the zoo but I don't think they'll find it.

We only have animals here.

...The people are disturbing the animals as well.

Uh, guys...the city's back that way. [He's pointing in a direction, then, frustrated, throws his hands up.]

No, really! What the fuck is going on here? It's like no one's paying attention, and going on about gibberish. You're all freaking me out!

[ooc: Have a worried angel. If anyone wants to end up fighting with an angel trying to rescue you or anything like that? Go for it. I'm game.]

There had been the most beautiful rainbow outside when Mercy had gotten up to go for her morning run. She'd smiled up at it and then she'd just known. Jack was here. Her Jack. And all she needed to do to find him was to follow that rainbow to the end where he'd be waiting for her.

Without hesitation she'd set off, sometimes at a jog if she needed to duck around a building to keep the end in sight, sometimes just a quick walk. She knew that before long she'd find it and he'd take her in his arms and all the rest of this mess would just turn into a bad dream.

To the rest of the world it would just appear that she was wandering aimlessly, eyes open, but really more like a sleepwalker than anything else. She was more than happy to talk with anyone who approached her either in person or through the device, but she wasn't about to be swayed from her journey.

[ There's a video recording feed starting up of Eames panning the camera around the City - specifically, too, to it's citizens who happen to be wandering around in an apparent daze. He appears to be sitting at an outdoor table to one restaurant or another, if the chairs and other non-affected patrons are anything to go by, and the bottle of beer with condensation pooling at the bottom in front of him. ]

I seem to recall an episode where all of our water sources were spouting out beer. Is it too much of a stretch to consider the idea this time someone's put a sedative in our well?

[ Then, quieter: ] Or a hallucinogen, if some of these stories are to go by.

I've never heard of a free year's supply of toothpaste being at the end of a rainbow, I have to say. But I suppose I'm just being close minded, hm?

[ ooc: replies can be either action or network! ]

Someone took her ribbons. Ribbon-Goblins, I think. Who else would get off on bullying a defenseless girl? Harassment and theft are serious crimes, you know.

[He's been walking as he speaks, words sounding all too rehearsed and eyes not quite focused, empty-- but they manage to stare at a building's wall right in front of him. He had to go this way, a quick glance at the sky tells him to; he has to keep going straight ahead to find these nonexistent ribbons.]

[So he does what any normal person (of his strength) would and reels his fist back to obtain the force necessary to punch through the wall and make his own path, because going around isn't an option when the rainbow above leads straight ahead. Unfazed as he continues.]

I have to find them. She needs them... they're her special, magic good-luck-ribbons.

[ Wandering through the City in something of a daze, Arthur is on his way to the outskirts of the City proper. From there it isn't terribly far from the forest, which isn't really the place for him - prepared or not, and he's more the former than the latter today. His mind is one-track though his goal is anyone's guess.

It's an unexpected day all in all. What had originally been intended as a day spent to scout around for different work has become, instead, an indefinite search for the end of a rainbow. He doesn't give much thought to others wandering around him in a similar state, doesn't give much thought to anything except his destination where he's 100% certain there's something he's looking for.

Or, well, someone.

If you happen to run into him, it might be literally, because that's how attentive he is to his surroundings at the moment - hardly.

At one point, turning his device over and over in his hand absently, the audio clicks on, just barely picking up the end of him muttering:
] ...the woods? Figures.

Sephiroth
Somewhere...

They must be somewhere nearby. Why don't they answer?

[The ordinarily collected Sephiroth looks different today. His hair hasn't been brushed. Now and then, as he walks, he staggers slightly, clearly disoriented. His bright eyes don't focus on anything around him, fixed on some far off point.

He gazes up at the sky. The "rainbow" he sees there is shining, in a sense, but its colors are faded to pale, barely differentiated, and with an almost sickly greenish tinge. As if tainted with Mako. That same green is shining in his eyes. It appears to him more like a beacon light than a rainbow, showing him the way, so he follows it. That must be where they are. They flew there, on wings... He doesn't have wings, but he wants to be with them.

Around him, the landscape has changed, at least to his eyes, yet what he sees doesn't remain constant. One moment, it's a tall, industrially modern city of steel, rising around him. In the next moment, those tall, gray buildings disappear, replaced with smaller structures: the houses and warehouses of an abandoned mining town, a ghost town. Steel and snow, both cold, neither comforting.

The tall city lies swathed in smog, and the tiny town lies blanketed in ice, but both are empty. In both of them, he is alone. And where is Angeal? Where is Genesis? His friends. They've gone away. If he can only find them. It will be all right. They can leave Shinra together. They can support each other.

He does use the network, and only once, but his transmission is terse, grave:]

Angeal, Genesis, please respond. This is Sephiroth. I am not here to bring you in. I am not here to fight.

I repeat, please respond. Where are you?

This is Sephiroth.
