[ Coulson's sitting on a bench in the park. There's a black labrador puppy curled up by his feet, tongue lolling out.

To the very trained and familiar observer, it'll be clear that Coulson's still holding himself a little more stiffly than usual, but for the most part he looks relaxed and calm. Approachable, even. ]

I'm going to have to find you a name, won't I? [ The puppy whines happily.

Coulson shakes his head slowly. When he speaks again, his voice in the same deliberate and even tone, he seems to be addressing empty air: ] Barton, if you're going to follow me around, at least be more subtle about it.


[ ooc; Feel free to run into him at the park or on his way home. Coulson adopted a puppy from Thor. Also, tags may or may not contain spoilers, so proceed with caution? ]

[ That doesn't quite get a laugh. ] Where did you hear that?

[ Bucky sounds amused. ]

Okay, confession, nowhere. But I'm hopeful.

[This is a noise that Ginny Weasleys make when they see puppies. It's not very dignified, but it is indeed very girlish.]

Oh, Merlin's beard.

[ That is a noise that gets a raised eyebrow in reaction, even if she can't see that. ]

[ On a mission, Clint would be incredibly annoyed, and perhaps concerned, that he's failed to be as subtle as he hoped he was being. But it's not his fault. Coulson is one of few important people in his life and losing a soldier, an agent, it's one thing, but losing him is something else entirely.

He jumps down from a high wall hidden by overhanging trees far enough away but still within hearing distance, lands on both feet, and casually walks over. ]

You caught me. [ He's got a cheeky grin in place despite it, and he bends low to ruffle the puppy's fur. ] The Dark Avenger's got a nice ring to it.

[ Action ]

[debrief]

[ On a mission, Clint would likely do better than this. Coulson understands that Clint's concerned, but he also wants to make it clear that it's unnecessary. He's fine now, here, and at home it was worth it. ]

Hey. [ Giving him a brief smile. ] Too long, don't you think?

[ Action ]

[ He shrugs, trying to hide the fact he's smiling as the puppy slobbers all over his hand. ]

Black Beauty's out then. [ He pushes him to full height, sits beside him. ]

[action]

[Natasha is sitting next to Coulson seemingly at the blink of an eye. Without hesitation, she takes the puppy out of his hands and holds him.]

You were always partial to cute things. [The puppy wagged his tail and nibbled on her fingers.]

[ Coulson doesn't even blink at that, giving up the puppy easily enough and watching her with it, something that's almost a smile on his face. ]

That's just rumours. [ He's not denying it, though. ]

I'm thinking about it. [ A beat. ] I never said thank you for the other day.

[Rapunzel is taking her her newly acquired husky puppy out for a walk, leash in one hand, balloon in the other. It is her birthday, after all, and she doesn't have to go in to work for a little while.

So she's out for her walk when suddenly, her puppy gets very excited about something, barking happily and tugging on his leash.]

Zucker, wha--

[Before she can figure out what her puppy is up to, it TUGS on the leash, breaking free and rushing over to Coulson's puppy, barking like a maniac, tail wagging, Rapunzel chasing behind him.]

[ And the lab puppy is on its feet, tail wagging just as much though it doesn't stray too far from Coulson just yet. Doesn't need to, either, what with how quickly Zucker came over.

Sniffing at the other puppy.

Coulson watches with a raised eyebrow and something that might be a smile, before he looks up to Rapunzel. ]

Hello again.

Did Thor give you that dog?

How did you guess.

A pity you did not chose a golden retriever. Then you could have named it Thor, Dog of Thunder and had the added bonus of confusing both when you called its name. [He finds this idea hilarious for some reason.]

You know, Thor gave me this puppy. [ To add to your amusement. ]
