If you've lived here for a while, you probably understand what's going on as much as any of us can understand the things that happen in the City. If you're newly arrived, either today or within the past month or two, this is probably more confusing.

There is a high probability that this is a two-day curse. People who have arrived today will likely leave after Sunday night. There's a history of this kind of curse in network postings if you go back far enough.

What I'm saying is that if there are people you don't want to see who have just popped up, they'll probably be gone soon and you can breathe a sigh of relief. If there are people here you want to see, make the best of this time, because I'm sorry to say it's probably limited.

This guy: [link] isn't my favorite person when he isn't turning into a screaming beast apparently intent on eating me. If you run into him, it might be him, and that's enough reason to avoid him, and it might be this (link to a screencap from this conversation) and you really want to avoid that.

This place is nice, but it isn't as big. I think I'd miss that. [So that seems to be all that's holding her to where she came from. Kind of sad...]

I just think I'd miss Greece and Peru and Nepal and England and Brazil and good old San Francisco.

You aren't allowed to exclude the curses and zoo aspect. I can find interesting and lively in a shark tank, that doesn't mean I want to live there.

And nothing I do here is going to have any meaning once I'm gone. Another Bruce Banner will come who's a little different than I am from a universe just slightly different from my own. Being good here means even less than it means at home.

Whether you choose to be here or not is moot, but at least you're interesting and lively, I guess.

Although I will certainly frown if you're acting like a dick. It doesn't matter what it means. It's how it makes you feel, how it makes the people around you that you consider important feel.

[A beat. She looks away, just long enough to hid a flicker of something in her eyes.] People can be surprising.

And there aren't people and things like that back home?

The things, not so much, the people - person in particular - yeah, he's back home. That's why he has me on edge, I know what he's capable of.

And you can't do something about it?

The thing or the person? I'm not sure I want to do anything about the thing other than stay far away from it. The person is probably not going to stand around running his mouth to get slammed in the floor this time, and I like to avoid violence anyway.
