[It's an undisputed fact of the City that not every curse is a tragedy. Sometimes they are. Sometimes they're just irritating. Sometimes they can even be fun. It's all a matter of perspective, really.

If you happen to be strolling through the park this afternoon, you'll find a group of citizens gathered around an old school boombox and a badass set of speakers. They've decided being annoyed by spontaneous dancing is too much effort, so instead, they're using it as an excuse to skip out on work and share the music they love with their fellow citizens.

Hey, man, any excuse to have fun! You're all invited! Bring your records, your cds, your mp3 players, your guitars, your voices. If you have music to share, there's a group of people here ready to dance. And if you're just in the mood to dance yourself, well, you're in good company.]

[Korra had gone to the park to train, but the sounds of music drew her to the crowd. Before she knew it, she was dancing along with the crowd.]

[Cursed? Not cursed? Who cares? The music may be weird and she may not really know how to dance, but that's not stopping her from having a good time.]

[ Striding through the park with the sleeves of his jacket pushed up to the elbow, hair a mess, Hei pauses to regard the dancers and their blatting music. It's a brief look. He's cursed, and in no mood to linger and accidentally catch up a stranger in a waltz or a jitterbug. (He did that already with nine customers at the cafe. Exhausting.) He needs to get home. Hopefully Mao will be out. The last thing he wants added to his impressive list of Unspeakable Acts is tangoing in an empty apartment with a fucking cat. ]

[ Except it's too late. The music leaps through him like a rainbow spring -- all elasticity and colors. Before he knows it, he's dancing along. Fuck. Fuck. ]

[ Why does it have to be dubstep? ]

[Korra's been dancing hard enough that, even with the cold, she's had to take off her jacket. She's sprawled on the ground, watching the dancers as she catches her breath.

So of course she sees Li on the other side of the crowd. She almost laughs as he breaks out into the weirdest dance she has ever seen -- and she's seen some weird dances in the four hours she's been dancing here. But there's a strange kind of beauty to it too. It takes a lot of strength and flexibility to contort your body into those kinds of positions, which he's doing with effortless grace. It's almost like watching him fight.

She's riding high on endorphins and surrounded by a bunch of other tired dancers; she feels safe enough to watch him with open admiration.]

[ The music tapers off, and the dance grinds to a stop with it. Hei exhales, rolling his shoulders to get the kinks out and scrubbing a hand through his hair. He smiles a tad self-consciously at the pleased murmurs from onlookers. He's sweaty and overwarm -- he wants nothing more than to go home and shower (hopefully without dancing in the showerstall and cracking his head on tiles, thnx.) Turning his head, he spots Korra nearby. Hair all tangled as if from wild dancing (so why was your first analogy aggressive kissing?). He cuts his eyes away, irritated, and shoves his hands into his pockets, ready to shuffle off. ]

[ Only to U-turn as another song -- all drumbeats and vibrating bass, starts up. Catching Korra's hand, he hauls her to her feet, and into the crowded periphery of the floor. Shit. ]

[ A thousand times shit. ]

[ Oh, Li. What are you doing with that dance?

Tyr comes up opposite of him and starts dancing to the song with a little more enthusiasm. ]

I know you can do better than that, Li.

[ Enthuse all you want, Tyr. This curse ain't his style :| Still angling and weaving like a contortionist, 'Li' shoots him a miserable look. ]

....I'd rather just.

[ Twist. Jerk. Twirl. ]

[Uhura loves a good song and dance. Even though she's not cursed, she joins the crowd. It gives her an opportunity to sing.]

Oh! You're a lovely singer. [Tohru has to say that, as she slows her rhythm down to match Uhura's song.]

[Uhura smiles]

Thank you! [She wishes she could say the same about Tohru's dancing.] You look like you're having fun. [She is adorable.]

[Chekov is similarly uncursed but willing to play along. Unfortunately for the world as a whole, the boy has never danced in his life and is doing far more rhythmic flailing than actual dancing.

He does stop momentarily to listen to Uhura.]

You sing very well.

[The end of her song is ruined a little by her attempt to choke back a laugh as she watches Chekov flail. She's seen the boy move before; he has a natural grace to him. But somehow that grace gets lost when music plays.]

Thank you. Is that a traditional Russian dance?

[She teases 'cause she cares.]

[Tohru's not much of a dancer herself, and she's not even cursed - she doesn't realize this is a curse day. It looks like so much fun! She's found a rhythm she likes, following the flow of the crowd around her, lost in it. She figures she's not very good - she isn't - but that doesn't stop her from enjoying it, or trying.]

[And anyone that dances by her, is her momentary partner, she changes things up to match them, grinning at them like they've made her the happiest she's been all day.]

[Being good doesn't seem to be the goal when dancing... which is lucky, as one of Tohru's random dance partners spins her gracelessly (but not so clumsily as to make her fall). Perhaps enthusiasm makes up for a lack of innate skill.]

[It does! She's not the graceful sort, herself, but not too clumsy. She actually makes it through on a decent twirl. And if it wasn't perfect, that's okay, because she grinned through it all. She beams at Chekov.]

[ Miles has mad dance skills today. He is also C-U-R-S-E-D CURSED. ]

[You can color Korra impressed. She spends a few minutes just watching Miles move.]

[Jinora isn't cursed, but she is having a fine time pretending not to be related to Korra and just watching. She doesn't get the appeal of dancing for the most part; Miles, however, is doing very impressive things.

She'll just watch, if that's okay.]

[Making his way through the City, both completely cursed and embarrassed, is Todd. He's going period-appropriate, for him; jive, swing, all the types of moves that would fit right in with early rock and roll.

Lucky for him, he's not half-bad.]

[Korra catches sight of Todd from across the park and waves enthusiastically.]

[She's having a ball and she wants all her friends in on it.]

[ Tyr doesn't really care what music is playing, but whoever he grabs better not be prone to tripping. It doesn't matter if it's meant to be a slow dance; he's going to spin them around with him. ]

[Korra is just catching her breath from the last dance when she sees Tyr.]

Hey Tyr - woah!

[She yelps, but can't help laughing as he spins her around and the next song starts.]

[Jinora is distinctly uncursed, but she doesn't exactly want to be alone enough to avoid the dancers. Plus, watching them is interesting. Horrible, but fascinating.

She pretends to read while covertly watching everyone else lose their minds.]

[Tohru's not going to be stopped by that, not with her new friend. Still, she isn't the pushy sort. She goes over, smiling.]

Jinora, would you like to join me? Just for one song? It's a lot of fun. Even more fun than I thought it would be!

[ Lost minds is an understatement. If he weren't cursed, he'd hold himself apart too. ]

[ He hurries past Jinora to go home. Even dancing around with Mao is preferable to this. Realizing 'Li' wouldn't be so brusque, however, he pauses for token pleasantries. Two minutes. Just two minutes. Saving your cover isn't worth this. ]
