[The (Second) Doctor is walking through the streets of the City, taking one last look at the place before heading for his TARDIS and taking it through the doorway. He's passing by the building where he's been staying for a while. The streets look so deserted.]

Well, at least everyone's taken the opportunity to leave already. Perhaps I should get going too.

[She studies the flask before taking a small sip and then weeping again at the familiar taste.]

We...we had this on our honeymoon.

[Looks sheepish for offering it.]

Oh. I'm so sorry.

[Makes a decision.]

Come on, get up. There's no use just sitting here.

[She sits up clutching the flask.]

He might come back though.

[A foolish hope she knows.]

I don't think so. I think the door is only one way. We should go to my TARDIS. I can assure you I will not take off without you.

[She really doesn't like that wiping away more tears from her face. She gets on her feet and looks over at him. This version of him has never let her down yet.]

Do you think we can track him out there?

We can try.

[Although crossing his own timeline like that will get him in trouble.]

At best, I can probably get you as close to his point as possible.

[That gives her a bit of hope.]

[Takes her hand and leads her from the bench.]

[She holds his hand and follows before biting her lip.]

Um, you know the Doctor and me.

Oh, of course. For a moment I thought you might have a guest to take with us as well.

[Rose laughs nervously.]

Another guest? Yeah, right. Don't know where you'd get that idea.

Well, you did say "we". I'm sorry, I just don't know what I was thinking.

[Leads her to where he has his TARDIS.]

Bit of a slip. Nerves I think. M'sorry.

[She sees the TARDIS and sees hope.]

[Keeps a nice grip on her hand, just in case as he unlocks the door.]

Go right in.

[Rose hesitates for a moment looking at the ship then back at him.]

Okay.

[She steps inside and stares at the center console.]

[The Doctor enters after her, and notices the top of the time rotor.]

Oh, I almost forgot. I have something for you.

[missrosetyler]

[She turns at the sound of his voice and clutches her stomach.]

You do?

[seconddoctor_cia]

[He picks up her dimension hopping device from the top of the time rotor. As he does this, he hits the door switch, closing the interior doors behind her.]

Here you are. I've repaired it in case you ever needed it.

[Rose stares at the device in his hand with surprise. She's touched not having expected that. Slowly she reaches for it and wonder if it is enough.]

Doctor, you really didn't have to...This is...

[Suddenly something familiar hits her and she hands him the device before running down the corridor.]

[Watches her go down the corridor.]

Rose?

[Suspects something's really wrong. Calls after her.]

Rose are you alright?

[missrosetyler]

[She hears him but doesn't respond as she finds the loo only to emerge minutes later. She rests her back against the wall and sighs.]

[Comes down the corridor to find her.]

I don't suppose the brandy was a good idea was it?

It's okay.

[She gives him a small reassuring smile.]

Just not my day.

Well, at least we're not taking off without you.

[Digs through his pockets and pulls out a paper bag.]

Something with sugar, perhaps. Jelly baby?
