[The (Second) Doctor is walking through the streets of the City, taking one last look at the place before heading for his TARDIS and taking it through the doorway. He's passing by the building where he's been staying for a while. The streets look so deserted.]

Well, at least everyone's taken the opportunity to leave already. Perhaps I should get going too.

[Watches her go down the corridor.]

Rose?

[Suspects something's really wrong. Calls after her.]

Rose are you alright?

[She hears him but doesn't respond as she finds the loo only to emerge minutes later. She rests her back against the wall and sighs.]

[Comes down the corridor to find her.]

I don't suppose the brandy was a good idea was it?

[She gives him a small reassuring smile.]

Just not my day.

Well, at least we're not taking off without you.

[Digs through his pockets and pulls out a paper bag.]

Something with sugar, perhaps. Jelly baby?

[She had been so relived to see that he was at least still around.]

[She reaches her hand into the bag and pulls out a jelly baby to pop it i to her mouth.]

I still don't understand how he could have left you behind. He was set on taking you with him. Was there some kind of accident? Perhaps a malfunction with the TARDIS?

I think it might have been tea or maybe she didn't really approve...

[She tries to compose herself feeling the tears well up.]

Tea? Oh I see.

[Makes sense. Clumsy oaf.]

He spilled it didn't he? I knew those repairs of his were a little suspect.

I should've been faster. I was so close...Why did I have to go back for that bloody suitcase.

[Now she's blaming herself.]

Oh, now you can't blame yourself. Accidents happen.

[Sits in front of her.]

You'd be amazed at how one little mishap can cause an untold amount of trouble.

[She looks over at him still somewhat of a mess.]

Yeah, reckon you'd know a thing or two about that.

Yes, I may have been guilty of one or two, ah...mishaps.

[She reaches for another jelly baby feeling nausea.]

Are you going to miss this place? The City I mean?

Well, I am going to miss the people I've met. I'm afraid most of them have already gone, it seems.

Still, in retrospect, it really was a sort of prison--no matter how nice it seemed just to live here.
