[Korra's been in prison for a few days now, and she is PISSED. So pissed, in fact, that her took her this long to realize what she needs to do.]

A few moments later, Korra's face finally comes back on screen.]

That guy who said his knife was stolen [since she has no idea if the bleep bloop did its thing or not] is a liar. It's not his knife. SO YOU CAN TELL ALL YOUR STUPID NAKED LADY HALLUCINATIONS TO GO AWAY. [That was directed to Theo. Seriously. She's not impressed with the visions of harem women. She has trouble enough sleeping with the nightmares she's earned.


Back on point.]

Rowena, wherever you are, I need you to come to the police station and explain. Tell them that it was your knife! [Because it looks like she's not getting out of prison until the knife is returned or "Rowena" tells the cops the truth. (Little does Korra know....)


Now we get to the bane of Korra's network post existence -- how does she end this thing? After a long, awkward pause, she says --]

[ Three walls of concrete blocks, one of iron bars. A box inside a box, a cage inside a cage. But the prisoner isn't pacing back and forth, or, miracle of miracles, brooding on an escape plan. Heavy cogitation, he's found, makes the boredom worse. ]

[ Settled crosslegged on his bunk, he gives up on trying to meditate when the familiar voice crackles on his Network device. There's a slow moment of blinking, trying to piece together what the hell she's talking about, before he asks the obvious, ]

... What've you gotten yourself into?

[ Hear the pot calling the cocaine black. ]

I didn't get myself into ANYTHING! [THIS IS SO NOT HER FAULT, JERKFACE.] I just returned something that had been stolen. That Theo guy is a LIAR!

That Theo Guy is a powerful necromancer. [ A beat, in which he weighs the options of asking her what happened, versus leaving her alone to handle her own mess. It's not like he can offer any help, after all. He's locked up tight. But at the same time, a Q&A session beats the interminable dullness of sitting in a narrow cell. A story, any story, is something to go forward on. ] What happened?

She sighs grumpily and throws herself back on her cot.]

I met this girl named Rowena in the hospital. She was being attacked by this guy who had stolen her father's knife and given it to that Theo guy. She needed my help to get it back.
