[They were fighting. James was with her.

The last thing she actually remembered before being here was James-- the gorilla. That massive hulking beast that they ran into while trying to find the stasis chambers.

Well, that is one thing she has working in her favor, Jasper and James will certainly be looking for her.

She'd already tried to contact S.H.I.E.L.D's network for a Sitrep, and was unable to get a signal. Calling for an Evac. is looking like it's out of the question. So, she guesses it's time to switch tactics.

Her face is impassive as she looks into the screen. Blue-green eyes flick across the display then raise to glance around, before settling back on the screen.]

This is Agent Natasha Romanoff. S.H.I.E.L.D ID 31339. Code name Black Widow. This is an official request for information concerning my capture.

[Following the spoken words, she can be seen a moment before the image goes dark and the same information appears as a text message.]

[It doesn't take but a moment before she is back, a slight raise to her brows as she regards the device in expectation of response. This isn't the first time she's been captured, though, one of the first in quite some time that hasn't been orchestrated by her in an attempt to obtain information or part of a mission. She knows protocol.

She also knows that protocol doesn't always work in every situation, she prides herself in her ability to improvise, so she allows her expression to soften just a little.]

So, who wants to tell me what is going on? I'm pretty sure we'll all be happier if we do this the easy way.

[ Maybe his skin isn't as thick as he likes to lead people to believe, because, that? Stings. He's her guy, the one she fights alongside, or at least he thinks he is.

But he shrugs, like it's no big deal. ] I'll be around. [ He doesn't know where she's from, so he tentatively adds: ] Coulson's here, too, if you want the thorough version.

[It's been a lot longer for her, but she can see right through him. Her voice is slightly softer than before, a little rounder around the edges.]

I'll contact you as soon as I'm done. [She arches a brow in mild surprise.] Coulson? [Cheese?] I hardly know him, but I suppose...I could speak to him as well.

[ Observant, Clint notices the change, but he doesn't want pity, not from her, not after everything. He can handle himself. ]

I'll be waiting, and this thi-- [ Hardly knows him? If a fleeting panic crosses his face, it's gone before it's really there. ] Guessing you're from an earlier point in the timeline. You, me, and Coulson? We're pretty tight. You can trust him.

[It's not pity. She doesn't pity. He knows that.]

Then we work together again? Later?

[ Again? Now his expression turns to confusion and he doesn't even try to hide it. ]

You and me? We've worked together since day one. [ Since he decided to save her life instead of take it. Good times. ] When was the last time we did work together for you?

[There you have it, you managed to get a confused face out of her too.]

A while. You were with the Avengers, and I wanted to focus on being a SHIELD agent.

[ And now it starts to click. It's not unknown for there to be different versions of themselves, brought in from different dimensions, he just wishes it weren't the case with her of all people. ]

We've been SHIELD agents together since the beginning. The Avengers is new, but we're working on moonlighting whenever we're needed.

[She's not quite piecing that together yet.]

And that was before...So, I'm not seeing where, Coulson fits into that. Currently-- or as of the last time I was home I was on a special assignment wit--

Something about our timelines is off.

[ He waits with an air of patience as she works through it, joining him at the only conclusion, but the differences is that she must be even more confused. ]

It's been known to happen. You were here twice before, but you were - well, you were the you that I know, everything matching up. But you? You've got to be a slightly different version, from an alternative world. I'll put money on one of the Starks or Banner being able to bore you to death with the details.

[Watch how the only thing she really gets out of that statement is this.]

[ All things aside, Clint's mouth curls up into a smirk, because he can completely appreciate her reaction. ]

Yeah, tell me about it. One's bad enough, but we've got ourselves two. We must've done something pretty damn amazing to be so lucky. [ He shrugs. ] It's got it's good points, but you've got to be here long enough to appreciate them.

[She shakes her head, just...Shit-- This gets better and better doesn't it? Clint you poor bastard, she doesn't stick around long enough and this time she comes back from well beyond where you are in your life. And probably, not even from the same version of home.]

From what I've been told I don't have much choice.

[ He shrugs again, like it's no big deal, but he's got his reasons, now, to want to stay that he keeps with him, even if he does get bored out of his mind without his proper job to turn to and everything that's familiar to rely on. ]

Not so much, no. But I figure, you're Tasha, so I've got your back same as always. And there's others if you've not already had the pleasure. Coulson, Rogers, Stark, Banner, even Barnes and Sif.

[She lets out a slow sigh, and the way this is going, she may have hers before the end of the day.]

Same for you, Clint. Regardless of our history, I could always count on you.

I'm sure they'll find me, eventually.

You can't hide from them forever. Someone needs to put in an appearance to tell them to behave and make them listen. [ He's sticking to the lighter side of everything, it's easier all around. ] So I'm not a dick in this other dimension? Good to know.

I never said I was going to hide. I'm just not actively seeking anyone out...yet.

[Smirks.]

[But her amusement doesn't linger long, it melts away.]

I'm actually the one to blame for how things went. I hurt you...both times.

[ Not fool enough to argue with her logic, however much the two are more or less the same, Clint merely finds a smirk of his own in return. ]

[ His own amusement slowly ebbs out, not sure if to ask or not, so he does in an indirect way. ]
