[They were fighting. James was with her.
The last thing she actually remembered before being here was James-- the gorilla. That massive hulking beast that they ran into while trying to find the stasis chambers.
Well, that is one thing she has working in her favor, Jasper and James will certainly be looking for her.
She'd already tried to contact S.H.I.E.L.D's network for a Sitrep, and was unable to get a signal. Calling for an Evac. is looking like it's out of the question. So, she guesses it's time to switch tactics.
Her face is impassive as she looks into the screen. Blue-green eyes flick across the display then raise to glance around, before settling back on the screen.]
This is Agent Natasha Romanoff. S.H.I.E.L.D ID 31339. Code name Black Widow. This is an official request for information concerning my capture.
[Following the spoken words, she can be seen a moment before the image goes dark and the same information appears as a text message.]

[It doesn't take but a moment before she is back, a slight raise to her brows as she regards the device in expectation of response. This isn't the first time she's been captured, though, one of the first in quite some time that hasn't been orchestrated by her in an attempt to obtain information or part of a mission. She knows protocol.
She also knows that protocol doesn't always work in every situation, she prides herself in her ability to improvise, so she allows her expression to soften just a little.]
So, who wants to tell me what is going on? I'm pretty sure we'll all be happier if we do this the easy way.

[ Action ]
Help yourself to it. No one's touched anything, so it's exactly as you left it.
[ The smile returns. ]
It's for the best.
[ Action ]
Thank you.
[She finally blinks and shakes her head.]
I have no doubt of that.
[ Action ]
It's easy enough to get hold of a place, but your stuff's here, and it'll be a pressure off until you're used to the place.
[ He's got questions, some that lead to Bucky - or, James, as she seems to know him as - but he knows their life, the secrecy, and it's not his place. ]
[ Action ]
I'm sure it is, but I'd rather... be near someone I know. Or at least, am somewhat familiar with. And the less pressure the better.
[He can ask, she will tell him. Because it's him, and he's one of the few people she does trust with at least some of her secrets.
She takes a seat on the couch near him, but not exactly next to him, and takes her much, holding it between her hands.]
The room on the right then? And which room is yours? Which is Coulson's? [To prevent confusion later.]
[ Action ]
[ He'll build up to the questions; bombarding her with them all at once might scare her off, or, at least, if it were the other way around it's a possibility. He's all for treating others as he might like to be treated. ]
The left. Coulson's in the middle. We can't fight if he's there to get in our way, right?
[ Action ]
He couldn't do any worse than she did with Bucky. She might actually deserve to be bombarded.]
We'll have to see I suppose. It's possible not even he can stop us if we really get going.
[ Action ]
He closes off then, trying to block out the memories that surround those events. ]
No, guess not. But then not many could. You win every time, but I never seem to learn.
[ Action ]
[She glances down at her mug and then back to him again.]
. . . We're you two fairly evenly matched?
[ Action ]
We're the favourite field agents, the ones they want on the job, but never after hours. If she shows up, keep this to yourself, but I have the tendency to let her win.
[ Action ]
So, you never had the sense that she was holding back? That she is much stronger than she let you believe?
[ Action ]
All the time. [ When he says that he lets her win, it's less humouring her and more himself. ] Something I should know?
[ Action ]
Sounds about right, actually. [A little smile.] One of these days, I'll hand you your ass and let you know what it's really like to go up against me. I bet I'm nothing like what you're used to.
[ Action ]
You're on. There's a gym around here, but if it's gonna get brutal we could move the furniture to the side, make our own ring.
[ Action ]
[ Action ]
[ Easing up enough to relax back into the couch cushions, he takes a mouthful of cooling coffee, subtle as he watches her. ]
The bathrooms through there. [ He nods to another door. ] Sheets and towels are easy enough to find in the cupboards. Coulson must be out walking Fury, but he'll back eventually. Avoid any and all conversations about the last battle we had before coming here and you should be good.
[ Action ]
I wouldn't know which battle that was, so I guess that won't be an issue.
[ Action ]
In case it comes up. It happens. [ But he is curious. ] You don't know him where you're from? Coulson, I mean.
[ Action ]
Not well, no. I know of him.
[ Action ]
[ He smirks around a sip of coffee, and it's not easy to tell if he's actually joking or not. ]
[ Action ]
[She rolls her eyes a bit, as she shakes her head.]
Sounds little like Sitwell. Though, more often than not it's James and I keeping him on his toes.
[ Action ]
[ It's so odd to hear Bucky referred to as James, and he can't figure out their connection. ]
You and him have history?
[ Action ]
[She hesitates, taking a drink from her mug before she answers.]
We've known each other for quite a long time. Since the Red Room had me, and he was their Winter Soldier.
[ Action ]
[ The name rings a bell or two, words written on pages he's glanced at and probably shouldn't have. But he never looked too hard, never connected Bucky to the codename. ]
You never mentioned it. [ There's a pause, and then he adds: ] How old are you?
[ Action ]
[Her eyes move to meet his, for a long silent moment, before she sighs.]
Do you want the honest answer?
[ Action ]
[ He's probably covered almost everything with her - with his version of her, at least - but there's still things he's never told anyone, never will, and he knows that as dark as his past has been, hers goes beyond dark. ]
It's not like I'm gonna be running for the hills.
