So I need to get a couple of things covered. 

Firstly I could use the money so here's the standard description of what I can do, if it'll help you, drop me a line.  Or Mercy if I don't reply because sometimes this thing-a-ma-gig doesn't work right and she's being a good sport.

I'm in the phone book back home as a Wizard.  So my general gig is finding lost items or people, paranormal investigations, consulting and advice.  I don't do love potions and if I could do endless purses I wouldn't be advertising.  I am not here for entertainment so if you've got a party, call a clown.  I'm goofy looking but not for cash. 

Also, where's the best beer in town?  Some place low key if you don't mind.   

I've bottled up a couple of extra parachute potions too if anyone wants to buy one. Take it down a hill and it's a little like moon walking which is fun.

Ivy I don't have much cash, but I could maybe make a picnic if you want to get together for lunch.  Let me know.

Magic users are fairly common here. You best have other skills to fall back on.

Magic's not all inclusive you know. My specialty is investigation. Hence the finding things and investigation part of the above.

As much as clockmaker and Ski instructor are. Finding a good detective is not all that common. But hey, it's not like you have to hire me.

Unfortunately I think for many of those things people are more apt to wait twenty-four hours than call anyone.

What difference does 24 hours make?

Everything, of course. It could mean what's lost is returned, we stop seeing ghosts in the mirror, so on and so forth. A rule some of us might rely to heavily on, though.

Yeah I'm getting the distinct impression the being a detective seems more ridiculous to the people here than being a Wizard which is a real twilight zone style switch. How's the detecting going? Let me know if you need to outsource any work, I'm good at tailing, surveillance, that kind of thing.

You're a Wizard but you can't do endless purses? Do your laws of magic not allow for it, or do you just not know how?

Well I could do one... technically but not morally. All magic has to come from something. I can't just spontaneously make things appear. If I created an endless purse, the money inside would have to either come from somewhere, meaning taking it from someone else, or be something else disguised as money or be an illusion entirely, screwing anyone who got it when the magic wore off.

Got it. Your source of magic is different from mine. I can create money, but it doesn't disappear from somewhere else, and it can be permanent, if I want it to be.

Witch as in candles and worshipping the goddess or witch as in female version of wizard. [There's a difference in his world]

Ah, that's the one Mercy suggested, she didn't seem all that into beer though so it's good to get confirmation.
