So I need to get a couple of things covered. 

Firstly I could use the money so here's the standard description of what I can do, if it'll help you, drop me a line.  Or Mercy if I don't reply because sometimes this thing-a-ma-gig doesn't work right and she's being a good sport.

I'm in the phone book back home as a Wizard.  So my general gig is finding lost items or people, paranormal investigations, consulting and advice.  I don't do love potions and if I could do endless purses I wouldn't be advertising.  I am not here for entertainment so if you've got a party, call a clown.  I'm goofy looking but not for cash. 

Also, where's the best beer in town?  Some place low key if you don't mind.   

I've bottled up a couple of extra parachute potions too if anyone wants to buy one. Take it down a hill and it's a little like moon walking which is fun.

Ivy I don't have much cash, but I could maybe make a picnic if you want to get together for lunch.  Let me know.

Since I guess you're new, did you have any questions about this place?

Heh, thanks.

I think I'm going to have to take notes on this place or something to keep it all straight. So far people have mostly been answering it. I'm sure I'll ask plenty of questions soon enough. Still processing it all. And some of it is going to have to be dealt with through experience I think.

Yeah, the curses. Sometimes you don't even realize you're one of the people being affected.

Now there's a pleasant thought. But I guess some things wouldn't work as well if we were aware of them.

We'd try to fight them more, yes.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss, I'm assuming this is not usually the case?

It's more that ignorance of a curse leads to being a part of it longer, which can lead to embarrassment after. But overall, they're not so bad, and embarrassment fades.

I'm used to being laughed at, it can't be too bad, I'm sure I'll make due.

We have that in common.

People laugh at you?

Not here, at home. People are nice here.

[harrydresden]

Why would they laugh at you at home?

[claimyourself]

If I just said "blonde cheerleaders" would that explain all?

Ahhh... high school. I see. I'd say it gets better but there are always going to be assholes out there. You just have to laugh right back at them. I find it makes me feel immeasurably better.

It helps when you have magic too.

That always made it harder for me. Not to draw attention to myself by making people trip or burning off all their hair when they picked a fight with me.

The people in my town are so self-absorbed that they'd never believe I was actually putting casts on them.

Most regular people are like that. They don't want to believe so even when it can't be explained any other way, they make stuff up. I had a temper as a kid so I had to be careful or I'd get into trouble when I got home. Justin always knew.

Exactly.

Is Justin family?

[harrydresden]

Justin was... [He sighs a little.] I was an orphan and Justin adopted me. I thought he was family, yes.

I'm sorry. I thought I was an orphan, and, well, it's complicated. But I know the feeling.

[harrydresden]

I have family now. So I think it's all good. Is having family now a good thing for you?

[claimyourself]

Let's just say I've always had my extended family and there are good and bad there. Knowing my mother is alive hasn't been a good thing at all.

[harrydresden]

I think families are usually a mixed bag, from what I've seen anyway. I'm sorry to hear you and your mother don't get along.

Thanks. Sometimes our family ends up here too, so maybe yours will turn up.
