Earning his keep [Public Post - Text]

So I need to get a couple of things covered. 

Firstly I could use the money so here's the standard description of what I can do, if it'll help you, drop me a line.  Or Mercy if I don't reply because sometimes this thing-a-ma-gig doesn't work right and she's being a good sport.

I'm in the phone book back home as a Wizard.  So my general gig is finding lost items or people, paranormal investigations, consulting and advice.  I don't do love potions and if I could do endless purses I wouldn't be advertising.  I am not here for entertainment so if you've got a party, call a clown.  I'm goofy looking but not for cash. 

Also, where's the best beer in town?  Some place low key if you don't mind.   

I've bottled up a couple of extra parachute potions too if anyone wants to buy one. Take it down a hill and it's a little like moon walking which is fun.

Ivy I don't have much cash, but I could maybe make a picnic if you want to get together for lunch.  Let me know.

I don't play very much at all. [ Except with her cat, but animals are easier, attachment less threatening to the neutrality of the Archive. ]

But you're still... [Ugh, he so does not approve of making this poor kid the archive. She should get to do some kid stuff sometimes!]

Not even catch? I mean... it's just tossing a frisbee back and forth. Harmless, right? Aren't you allowed to have fun?

You know that I need to remain distant. [ Of all the people in the City, Harry is the only one who can understand. He might not like it, but-- he's the only one who can understand.

She hopes he will and then finds that she shouldn't be hoping at all. ]

[harrydresden]

[He understands but it doesn't mean he won't wheedle a little and try to find a way around it.]

Maybe if we glare at each other the entire time...

Anger is not the same as emotional distance.

[harrydresden]

[He sighs, more sad for her than for him.] Well there's a lot of dogs around, maybe one of them will play.

[archivy]

They would likely enjoy it. [ A beat. She shouldn't ask or care. She does. ] How is Mouse?

[harrydresden]

Mouse is... back at home watching over a little girl actually. I think he's probably doing quite well. [Harry misses him a little but that's how these things go.]

[archivy]

[ She has no memory of any of that. ] I think you are from my future, then.

[harrydresden]

Yes, I pretty much guessed that, you look much younger than the you I know. [And he figures you have enough to know already he's not going to add to that with things like dying and crap.]

[archivy]

[ She would appreciate it, if she knew. That she doesn't is, of course, the whole point. ] I'm eleven.

[ Just after Nicodemus kidnapped her, but she's been here long enough that she doesn't think of it. Often. ]

Ahh, I was guessing around that age. [yes no screwing up the space/time continuum if it can be helped

Also, poor Ivy, getting kidnapped by Nicky and the Nickleheads his just really full of suck. He's calculating it now in his head realizing about when that happened, although it seems her hair has had a little time to grow back out.]

[ At least time Nic isn't here as well. Last time he had been. ]

Yes. I will not ask about anything that has happened since.

[Now there's a horrifying concept. Nicky over here. Excuse him while his subconscious full body shivers]

Sounds like a decent enough plan.
