[ Earlier in the day, this is Flynn in the kitchen in an apron with Tyr. Tyr's also in an apron. On the dining table, there's this beautifully-made cake* (Note; Flynn's supposed to be great at making food look beautiful! This is my attempt at showing that but it's not exactly amazing... JUST ASSUME IT'S BEAUTIFUL!)-]

Happy Birthday, Rita.

[ A cat-themed cake. ]

I thought I'd help Tyr with the preparations-

[ Tyr comes into view. He seems a little rushed - his hair is even messier than usual - when he announces: ]

The rest of the lunch will be done soon. There's more than enough for everyone.

It's a different pace. I like it. Besides, selling to people is better than serving them...

...Because you get to stay sitting?

[blackshadow]

Because it's not waiting.

[negativegate]

You're still serving customers.

[blackshadow]

And it's still not the same.

[negativegate]

I still say it's not that different.

[blackshadow]

It's different enough to me.

Because I'm selling something we made. I'm not just taking orders and passing them on to other people.

Oh, so you want to be both the chef and the waiter.

[blackshadow]

Yeah- And you can still wear that Hymns of Lorelai uniform.

If I wear it, so do you.

[blackshadow]

No way. I don't pull it off as well as you.

[negativegate]

I think the bunny ears look pretty good on you.

[blackshadow]

[ ...Well, maybe just to tease Rita...

He lifts the tails of his bandana up over his head like rabbit ears. Floppy ones. ]

Should I wear my bandana like this from now on, too?

[negativegate]

[She blinks--and then she laughs, because it looks so silly.]

Yeah, yeah. Tape them just like that.

[blackshadow]

[ He laughs with her and wiggles them around a bit before letting them go. ]

Sure. But then I'll have to do your hair, too...

[negativegate]

[She laughs some more!]

My hair doesn't look anything like bunny ears.

[blackshadow]

[ He really loves making her laugh! He doesn't get to joke around nearly enough--or maybe he's making up for lost time. ]

It could-

[ Just let him pick up a few clumps of hair from the top of her head. ]

[negativegate]

[It is really fun when they joke around--Rita loves seeing him laugh, too.]

They're nothing like ears, see?

[Even if she can't actually see!]

[ It's hard to imagine when Rita wasn't as happy as she is now, though he remembers distantly when she wasn't like this. ]

Hmm, yeah. More like antennae...

[ But he still makes her hair flop around. ]

[Rita sometimes remembers the arguments they used to have, too, but she can't imagine going back to that--she never wants to.]

Are you saying it makes me look a bug?

[H-huff, but the way he plays with her hair makes it hard not to laugh.]

[blackshadow]

[ Tyr never wants to go back, either. ]

You just need wings.

[ He laughs with her, and after a second, he lets go of her hair to mess it up. ]

[A curse made her do it once, and it was bad enough.]

No way am I--h-hey!

[Gah, just like Yuri! She makes a face and half-raises her hands, though she isn't about to shove him away.]
