[There's a crash and a giant paw obscures the view for a moment before it's replaced by a black nose attached to puppy. With devilish doggie delight the device disappears into the puppy's maw as the puppy runs away.]

No! Don't - that's not a... toy thing!

[It's hard to tell from the inside of a dog's mouth, but it sounds like there's running involved.]

Not into the shop - the shoes... Someone catch that dog!

[Suddenly you can see again as the puppy barks, dropping the device and running off, Cinna's neat and immaculately cared for shoes run after it.]



[ooc: Open to anything and everything, even action of you feel like helping Cinna corral his new puppy in the shop. BRING IT.]

[Three guesses who is standing in the doorway of the shop, scooping up that runaway dog into his arms like a champ.

Yeah, it's some green-eyed tool, go figure.]

Since when do you have a dog?

[He pauses, for a split second before he crooks an eyebrow. One of these days, or was he really back?]

Since all of you left and the ticking went crazy the other day. [Pause.] Well, crazier than normal. Living alone was driving me insane.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I mean, leaving without a goodbye is kind of my thing, but not for you. You deserved better than that.

[He shrugs a little, scratching beneath the puppy's chin.]

The kids had to go. It was my job to go with them.

[Ruby is quick and she leans down to scoop the puppy up in her arms, one hand scratching under it's chin.]

This yours?

[Contrary to popular belief, she likes puppies. She follows Sam Winchester around after all.]

[He's a little out of breath, but gives her a warm smile.]

I've been keeping him in the office, but he escaped.

[Still scratching under the puppy's chin. Also holding onto him.]

[There's a pause as he stops to pick up the device. You can hear him call out, "Just keep after him, he'll stop eventually."]

[ Somewhere between here and there, between the sidewalk and the shop, Cinna turns a corner and barely misses running straight into a young woman in a dirty old army jacket and a home-knit blue hat. She's busy doing a little dance around a hyperactive puppy who seems to be distracted from this whole 'running-away' business by the girl in question. ]

Hey, now, [ she says gruffy, eyes darting in Cinna's direction as she stoops to pick up the yipping creature. ] You watch yourself. As near as ran me over, makin' quick work of that corner.

Apologies, miss. He's rambunctious.

[He stares at the girl for a moment, there's something terribly familiar about her.]

That's enough to get Ree to crack a smile, though there's nothing particularly mirthful about it. If anything, it's grim and pinched at the edges. The smile of a young woman who's forgotten how to, or at least can no longer recall the sort of sentiment that leads to a genuine one. ]

'Course he is, just look at him. [ In her grasp, the puppy squirms, but Ree levels a finger at it, which the little beast promptly licks. ] Chompin' at the bit and rarin' to go, but you face him square and tell him whose boss? He'll up and listen.

GUESS WHO?? :D

[Being dead again wasn't really so bad....it was just like she went back to sleep, and she was waking up again, dead but not fully, back in the City. She has a feeling it won't last, but...

Well, best to make the most of it, right?

So, Rue heads off to Cinna's shop. And she can't help but smile at seeing the puppy.]

You got a dog!

[He pauses in his chase to laugh out loud. Darling Rue, the best thing about these days are the second chances they all get.]

And now I have a little Rue-bird, too. Care to help me catch him, he's quite fast.

[ Katniss is not only confused by everything right now, but she's relieved to see Cinna. Not too long ago, she was running her fingers over his sketchbook, fighting emotions that welled up within her reading the last farewell message he ever gave her. I'm still betting on you. The moment she sees his face, the words begin to echo, resonating over, and over, and over in her mind and she feels, for just a second, as if the wind has been knocked out of her. ]
