[There's a crash and a giant paw obscures the view for a moment before it's replaced by a black nose attached to puppy. With devilish doggie delight the device disappears into the puppy's maw as the puppy runs away.]

No! Don't - that's not a... toy thing!

[It's hard to tell from the inside of a dog's mouth, but it sounds like there's running involved.]

Not into the shop - the shoes... Someone catch that dog!

[Suddenly you can see again as the puppy barks, dropping the device and running off, Cinna's neat and immaculately cared for shoes run after it.]

[ooc: Open to anything and everything, even action of you feel like helping Cinna corral his new puppy in the shop. BRING IT.]

Like the little things that women carry around with them? I admit, the idea of something small and fluffy that I could style had it's appeal, but that's one cliche I won't indulge.

[He gives the puppy a friendly pat. It makes him glad to have something to care for besides the shop.]

I asked for the biggest, friendliest animal they had and I got this.

They have big fluffy dogs, too. Besides, you're not a handbag kind of guy.

[He's just kind of looking at Cinna, sentimental, as though the puppy isn't the only one who deserves some affectionate contact.]

Do you remember the green dress you designed for Katniss? The one she wore in Five?

Of course I do. What of it?

[He reaches into his deck for a braided knot of rope that the puppy is VERY excited to see.]

Annie wore it at our wedding. I wanted you to know.

At- [There's a small shocked pause before Cinna breaks out into a wide grin.]

Finnick Odair, congratulations! That is wonderful news. [It means they're alive, that Finnick at least made it out and they were able to find and save Annie. That's two good things from home he hadn't dared to expect.]

[WHERE IS HIS HUG, CINNA. GROOM GETS A HUG, COME ON NOW.]

It was pretty nice. Not exactly what I'd always imagined, I'll admit, but then I can't honestly say I ever imagined Plutarch being my wedding planner, so. Let's stick with nice. It was nice.

[And by far the nicest of the news that he could dispatch, so maybe it's better to just leave it at that.]

[FINE, FINNICK, HAVE A HUG.]

You'll have to forgive Plutarch, he just doesn't have the flair for the emotional side. Brilliant Games designer, excellent planner, but not... a romantic.

[He pulls back, debating, then finally has to ask.]

I wasn't there, was I?

[BEST HUGS COME FROM FOREVER BROS.]

He had something to prove by it, anyway. But that's no surprise. Nothing is ever really your own once you're a Victor, is it?

[His gaze is steady, his voice level, and after a pause he asks in return:]

Are you sure it's something you want to know?

No, I suppose it isn't.

[Shrugging, Cinna moves to behind his desk, pulling out a bottle of something alcoholic out with two glasses. Happy news deserves a toast, after all.]

Do you really think I'll be surprised by the news? I know what I've done, I know what it might cost me.

It's not that I think you'll be surprised. I just think it's a lot harder to hear out loud, and just because I'm gone a day or two from now doesn't mean the echo of those words will go with me.

[He runs a hand through his hair.]

The Mockingjay suit fits like a glove. You should know that, too.

Of course it does, I'd hardly design something that wouldn't fit. [The corner of his mouth twitches as he pours the drink.] Which answers the question about Katniss and her survival, as well as the decision she made.

[Passing the glass to Finnick, he picks up his own.] Did they at least leave my team be? They were innocent of everything, I told them nothing.

As quick on the uptake as ever.

[And today, he takes a sip, where otherwise he might have avoided the alcohol. That's a sign in itself, really.]

I don't know all the details on what happened to them. I was...a little preoccupied. But they're alive, I can tell you that much.

That's reassuring. I worry about them. They were loyal to me, I'd hate to have that cause them harm.

[Holding his glass up, he smiles at his friend, happy to be able to make this toast.]

To you and your Annie. May the odds be ever in your favor.

[Drink first and toast second; ever the epitome of class there, Finnick. Well done. But he raises his glass and clinks it against Cinna's, just the same, his smile fond but faintly wry.]

Just remember this much. Whatever else happens, we did good. Things changed. We made a difference.

We did good. [That's the important thing, that something good finally came out of so much evil and heartache.] We made a difference.

[He downs his in a gulp. You'd be surprised at his tolerance these days, Finnick. Surprised and dismayed.]

The odds were in our favor then, that's good to hear.

[He almost, almost says, "And I'm dead." But Finnick of all people knows better than to end a chain of news on a downer.]

They were this time. But that's all that really matters.

I suppose it's all for the history books, anyway, whoever ends up writing them at any rate.

[He takes the knot from the puppy, tossing it to the far side of his office, watching his new companion scamper off. Perhaps he should name it Finnick for sheer amusement.]

Now, are you going to make me guess about Peeta?

[He is silent for what is probably a conspicuously long amount of time. Peeta...there's really no way to gloss over what happened to Peeta, is there. Even he can't find words to dress that up.]

Peeta and Johanna are both making progress. Recovering.

[That actually surprises him a little, he'd half-expected that the noble, sacrificing and devoted Peeta had managed to get himself killed. That he survived, that he's recovering, that's a blessing he hadn't expected. Johanna, too, with all her anger and desire to fight.]

That's good to hear. I take it you're all in Thirteen?

Katniss and I made it there after the Quell. The others...caught up later. And Beetee, he was with us. Haymitch, Plutarch. Katniss's friend what's-his-name from Twelve.

Gale. [Cinna could supply the name readily enough. He'd been here, in the City, briefly. And he'd seen the lad even more briefly during his short visits to Twelve for Katniss' fittings and pictures.]

He struck me as a decent lad.

He's something.

[What that something is, Finnick does not feel it necessary to elaborate.]

He doesn't make it easy on Katniss, let's put it that way.

[That gets another eyebrow raise, but Cinna doesn't press it. For all that he's only ever wanted Katniss to be free of all her troubles, he knows it isn't that simple. Not with Peeta there, not with Gale. She likely feels responsible for the both of them.]

Aside from that, they didn't force her, did they? The Mockingjay? I made Plutarch promise, but...

Not as far as I know. As best I can tell, it was her choice.

Good. [His hand tightened on the glass for a moment before he set it aside to throw the toy for the dog again. This time, the puppy brought it back to papa Finnick. Isn't he the cutest?]

The last thing she needed was more people forcing her to fight.
