Oh, a while now...I worked for the original owner before he left. Mister Iroh made amazing tea...I know mine isn't as good as his, but he liked it, so I guess it must be okay.

[Nah, but he shouldn't.]

Well, I haven't tasted his, but yours is good.

[He grins and lifts the cup a little before he takes a sip.]

[She smiles again.]

[He's pretty content like this, though, and he's sure that if she needs to continue working he can amuse himself by seeing how she does it with all that hair to drag around.]

[She smiles at him before going to take care of another customer...hair dragging behind her. It's sort of impressive how she manages to work around it.

[It takes a while for the tea shop to clear off, the various guests going off to the places they're staying for the night, and Rapunzel is cleaning up. She and Merlin are the only ones left.]

Jeez...it's never been this crowded before...

At least we both had things to do.

[People-watching is pretty fun. And there was the weird communication trinket thing that he could prod at every now and then.]

You don't miss your home?

Well...I do...I miss people from home. My mother, Flynn, Maximus...those nice people from the Snuggly Ducking...but I've got so much freedom here! I've learned so much, and I've done so many things I could never do before...

There's something I want to do when I get home...but I know that time is funny, and when I get home, I'll just pick up right where I left off. So I'm not worried about that. When I go home, I'll see the lanterns, and right now, I'll enjoy life!

[She grins, before frowning.]

What about you? Do you miss home?

[Ah, that makes sense, and he nods along and is just about to ask about the lanterns when she asks a question first. Ah.]

Me? No! Not right now, anyway. I know I'll be gone in a couple of days too, and I haven't had free time in forever so I think I'll just enjoy myself.

[He chuckles quietly.]

But as much as I could tell myself I wouldn't miss home, I don't think I'd like being here for an unknown time, so much. I'd miss the people, a lot, too. Even if one of them is a pompous, infuriating prat.

That's how I felt about Flynn when I first met him! We get along a lot better now...I know, its sort of weird not knowing how long we're here for...but it's not like you'll never see home again, right?

What lanterns were you talking about?

The floating lanterns! The kingdom apparently releases thousands of lanterns into the sky every year on my birthday...I've been watching them for years from my window...and when I get home, I'm going to see them in person.

I know they're not for me, but I've always felt so connected to them...
