56 - [video -> backdated to the 23rd]

[ video sent to Yuri about a minute earlier ]

[ The video only really shows Estelle's legs and the occasional glint of her blade as Tyr moves back. ]

—ot really! Are you having fun, are you, are you?

[ Or it would just be that if drops of blood weren't just scattered across the sand. ]

[ With that, the message ends, just cutting off Estelle's response back to him. ]

[ Public video ]

[ Tyr's neck and the underside of his chin are all that's shown as he speaks in a quiet, somewhat choked voice. As far as location goes, all that's obvious about it is that he's laying in the sand, under the shade of some structure. ]

I, I tried... Sorry... [ And with some more strength: ] Be careful...And save her for me.

[ Some time later, a black shadow covers the entire screen, only to disappear a few seconds later as the device slips out of his hand, showing the sky overhead. ]


[ ooc: Adding to the death count... He'll be around a little while longer for anyone who wants to respond. That shadow at the end would be Tyr's rune leaving his hand to attach itself to Yuri! ]

[ At times like this, knowing she thinks he's strong is really comforting. He just feels so pathetic...

And it's hard to finish her sentence, but he knows where she's going. He nods slowly. ] Yeah... It...had to be because of that... It couldn't have been just a coincidence...

[ He looks over to one of her hands. ]

It's... You don't have it, right?

[She does think he's strong. She just wishes she could figure this out...No, she should start thinking of ways to figure it out.]

I didn't feel anything, but...

[She pulls back one glove, finds nothing, and checks under the other one, heart racing...But no.]

No...I don't have it. That means somebody else does...

[ And so does Tyr, as soon as possible.

He watches intently, his own heart racing, and he doesn't know if to be relieved or disappointed that she doesn't have the rune. In either case, he sighs and shakes his head. ]

Must be... It wouldn't just wander around for a host...

[ He never thought it would do that, anyway; it seemed to opportunistic.

And suddenly, it dawns on him with horror: ] What about Estelle?

[If they think together, they can do it. Rita wracks her brain, but the mention of Estelle makes her tense with worry again as she shakes her head.]

I don't know. I haven't seen...

[And then she realizes what he's getting at, and her horror could match his. Estelle was close, obviously...If the rune's in her possession, it's in the parasite's possession.]

Wait--you don't think it has her, do you?!

It could. I don't know when it left me, and... It could have attached itself to her.

[ This is where Tyr starts to panic. And while he thinks Rita should know everything about Estelle, if she was with him the entire time, she probably doesn't at the moment. ]

Have you heard anything about it?

Because she was there-

[She was there killing him. Rita shakes her head, and maybe she should be trying to keep calm for Tyr, but she just can't now.]

No, I--I've only talked to Judith. We were trying to figure out how to stop her.

[ If it left him when she dealt that fatal blow and his vision went blank... It seems like too likely for him not to be anxious. Rita shouldn't be calm. ]

But she still...

[ He didn't think one person would be so hard to stop! ]

Never mind that— There hasn't been anything about her using it, has there?

[And I'm going to sleep now! Class in the morning...]

[Rita's definitely not feeling very calm. That's the last thing a parasite should be in control of, especially when it's got Estelle.]

No--I don't know! I haven't heard anything! We need to find the others!

[ Same here. :') Sleep well and have a good day!! Also Jane is going to make a post about this with Yuri later, so the rune thing will be sort of tied up then. ]

[ Estelle shouldn't have to bear that rune or the horror of watching how easily it can kill anything.

He nods, tensing up more. Rita's worry is making him panic. ]

Right--Where are they? We should tell them right now.

[After what's already happened, Estelle's gone through more than enough. Having or using the rune on top of that...Rita doesn't want to imagine it.

She's a bit panicky, but not so much that she can't think. She lets go of one of his shoulders to reach for her device.]

I don't know--I have to try and warn them!

[ Thank you~ :3 And yeah, it should be fun-! ]

[ He watches her anxiously, letting her send out the message. ]

Just make sure to tell them to keep her from using magic. That's the only way...

[She goes with a text message and sends it, hoping it gets there.]

[ ♥~! Rune drama, rune drama-! ]

[ When he sees her send it, he can only hope they get it in time. They had to have retreated from fighting Estelle, right? ]

I should have given someone else my water rune, too...

[Delicious drama~]

[Rita's had no contact with Yuri or Flynn. Only Judith, and they tried to brainstorm a way to fix things...They'd better get the message.

At Tyr's next statement, though, Rita snaps her focus back to him and shakes her head.]

Why? What about you?

[Isn't that all he has left now?]

[ They really, really have to... Before something happens. ]

There's nothing I can do with just this rune. [ He says it flatly, a simple statement of fact in his mind. ] It's better off with someone else.

Keep it! In case- [Someone could get hurt...At this rate, someone will almost certainly get hurt and need healing.

After a moment, Rita moves one of her hands and removes the fire rune from her skin.]

[ SO MUCH DRAMA ]

[ He shakes his head and takes a step back. ]

No way. You need that--you're a better mage than I am, too.

[ She especially needs some way to defend herself. He...still likes to think he could fight with his bare hands if he had to, even if he's not as confident in that now. ]

[AND WE LOVE IT ALL]

[She frowns and steps forward, staying in his space.]

You're a perfectly good mage, Tyr! Besides, Klarth gave me his blastia, so you need this!

[ WE DEFINITELY DO. ]

[ He narrows his eyes down at it, feeling unsure. If she has a blastia, he guesses that a rune is useless. After a moment, he offers out his left hand.

But he's not going to say anything. He doesn't want to say that he'll die all the same if all he has is magic. ]

[A fire rune certainly is, at least. She can't exactly keep it for herself even as a backup, though--not when Tyr doesn't have anything else anymore. The rune gets affixed to his hand again, and she looks back up at him. He'd better not die again.]

There...Just in case.

[ Tyr has no intention of dying again, even if he feels so weak now. How could he die so easily? It wasn't right. ]

[ He flexes his hand, glad to at least feel it's power again. ]

Let's stay in here from now on, though. Unless we have to face Estelle...

[Rita doesn't think he's weak. It was against Estelle...Rita could never bring herself to fight her friend at all.]

[ And now Tyr knows he's not the same as he was before. He could have killed Estelle, but she would have never deserved that fate, even if she did kill him instead... ]

They have to... [ He squeezes her hand. ] Now let's get lunch. For our strength.

[Rita doesn't know what Tyr would have done, if...Estelle hadn't gotten him. The idea of Estelle being hurt by anyone--even if she is possessed--makes her tense.]

...Right. For strength. [She sure doesn't feel hungry.]

[ He doesn't want to think of what hurting Estelle would have done to their relationship. He thinks Estelle would understand, but he doesn't think neither Rita nor Yuri would have forgiven him. ]
