[action; closed to mccoy, kirk, and uhura]
[ He reaches the apartment barely out of breath. He's the picture of professionalism but anyone who knows him as well as they do will see the anxiety immediately. The Doctor'd been shouting, Jim had been coughing and Nyota -- he does not even want to consider what he might do if she's been harmed. ]
[ He knocks, the rapping hard and too loud in the empty corridor. The sharp shard in his heart is... dread. ]
[action; open]
[ The City is his to explore for the moment. He's out of uniform, dressed plainly in dark-coloured coat and pants (yes, in the heat, perks of growing up in a desert). He hasn't done anything about the ears quite yet, but a hat is with him, half-poking out of a pocket, just in case. ]
[ The meandering appears to be random, but to anyone watching closely (or long enough) a discernible pattern emerges: a simple grid layout with delays between returns to certain points. He's checking back, double checking, too. Mostly, he can be found with his tricorder, occasionally peering quizzically at it, or observing a few people at the central arrival square. (Maybe he's even observing you.) ]
[text]
[ Once he gets the hang of the network, he opts for a simple text post. No need to unnecessarily alarm anyone who is unfamiliar with aliens, and furthermore, no need to bring attention to his presence. Khan may have unexpected allies. ]
Greetings. I am a recent arrival.
What is the highest level of technology available here? Is it freely available to the populace? Where might I find parts?
Your assistance is appreciated.

disgusting amounts of brolove after bones and uhura have their turn
He draws up short when Uhura races over to Spock to fling her arms around him, wide-eyed with a grin irrepressibly tugging at the corners of his mouth as he pants in mild exertion partly to do with recovering from illness and partly because Spock is here. Jim hasn't realized how much he's missed him since all the visitors vanished. Raking him from head to toe, his smile broadens briefly (privately when he personally comes to the attention of the Vulcan to display relief in every inch of his body-language) and Jim only hangs back out of deference for the reunited couple. That's fine, it doesn't really register. They've all missed Spock with a keenness that has been more like a family in bereavement. It's obvious to anyone that Jim's twitchy, restless to get Spock face-to-face and share a wealth of salient information sitting down exclusively with his First, he wants him to bounce a thousand ideas and problems off because he's been striving to hit his potential without any real footing; Bones is wonderful and Jim needs him at his left-hand, but Spock's place is terminally at his right and there's been a gaping maw of substitutes ever since Jim had to stop scouring the entire City when he disappeared. Jim's been waiting for this, because it doesn't matter where one or the other ends up when he quietly held on to the steadfast belief they'd find each other again.
It's all a little embarrassing, considering how legendary Janeway's told him he and Spock (and everyone else) become in their alternate time-line. He doesn't give enough of a fuck to pretend he's entirely professional. Maybe this is how the other Kirk feels too and isn't that a mess of emotions in the wake of Jim discovering he's either made from stars or in part connected to them. Spock is a guiding light to help Jim steer his ship by.
Jim breathes easier than any constellation has given him cause to, vaguely wondering if he's still not a little messed up with his thoughts leaping to poetic conclusions. God, he's just so happy.
Nodding along to his own thoughts, he may not be the ranking authority while Janeway is present but Jim isn't about to let go of the nature that secured him his captaincy in the first place. Initial order of business has to be filling Spock in on the mindfuck that is the City. ]
We have a lot to talk about.
[ Like, a lot, the look he gives Spock says. ]

[It’s still a prank of some kind and Spock’s extremely unamused. He’s wary when he knocks, fighting the urge to immediately enter when Jim calls him. McCoy is persistent - and what’s more their conversation does little to disarm him - it’s too full of conjecture, he has.. a feeling Janeway’s explanation will be much more satisfactory to his science officer sensibilities. The doctor’s always been... harder to read, he’s only clear when they are both expressing concern for their captain. Yet, he promised to exercise caution, and he does so when his eyes flick over the room as Nyota hugs him, resting on Jim briefly and reading the relief. They have not seen him in a while, or missed him greatly, that much is quite clear.]
[Despite his temptation to put duty first and determine their exact circumstances, he can’t ignore Nyota’s needs. Once they’re seen to, he re-enters the main room and looks at his captain intently, refraining from comment on his demeanour, raising a faintly curious eyebrow at the constellations drawn on his arms. He recognises them all, of course, the ones he used to see in the sky as a boy on Vulcan. It feels strange to think he will never look up at that sky again, even if the stars are still there. The grief and rage churns in him long after Nero’s death, as it will for all Vulcans who were present on the Enterprise. The mind-shock had been too much.]
[His gaze lingers a moment longer than necessary, before he meets Jim’s gaze and walks towards him. I am here.]
Captain. [Perfectly neutral, formal, with his usual stoic exterior, before he drops it, relaxing. To anyone but Kirk and Uhura, the warmth would be imperceptible.]
Jim. The doctor informed me I have been present here before, but I have no memory of it.
[That’s the most important: that there might have to be a repeat of the events they (he?) had been through before, and that should be their priority. Not that Spock thinks he’s likely to have an(other) emotional breakdown, but he prefers to cover all his bases.]

he opens it, and raises a hand, pushing spock backward as he himself walks out of the apartment and closes the door behind him. the silence of the hallway is all the privacy that he can get at such a short amount of time. ]
We need to talk first.
[ his voice is lowered, careful. there's some things to be addressed here, and while he's not the one who's going to tell spock about khan, he's going to be the first to talk to him about the temporal anomalies. the others can fill in the rest as they so please. ]
Now, I don't know who's told you what, but there's some things that you gotta keep in mind before going inside. This place is creates a temporal anomaly, they'll pulled all of us from different points of time in our universe, so we all remember different things. So I'm gonna ask you, what do you last remember?
action »
[But that's an earlier Spock. The reasons he stops is because they've walked through their own fire, in a small hospital room waiting to see if the cure worked. The moment Janeway and Kirk told him temporal anomalies he was angry and worried at the same time, and keeping a successful lid on it.]
Doctor.
[The problem here is: he doesn't know when McCoy's from. A reference, perhaps, to see if it's before or after. The hint of warmth in his voice indicates... well. Something, he hopes.]
There is a 87.52% probability that I win our chess matches.

Commander. I'm Captain Janeway. [ others would likely offer their hand, but janeway knows vulcans well enough to offer a polite nod instead. ]

[When she nods, he returns it. He appreciates the gesture: he wouldn't trade Jim but the man could use lessons in personal space when it came to Vulcans.]
Captain. [He clasps his hands behind his back, as he's wont to do.] I have been briefed on the situation. [So she doesn't need to tell him that much.] Are any members of your crew here?

So she's staring from a table at cafe in the Square, sketchpad in her lap, pencil in hand. There's a few dark lines creeping along the page with more being added as time passes, curling into their own pattern as well. Unlike this guy's pattern, they aren't a grid, but a man with a pair of funny-looking ears.]

[He examines each of the passers-by in turn, before his gaze settles on Angela. Now the debate is.. escape. Or engage. She looks human enough, perhaps she'd be offended if he scanned her at this distance, so he chooses to approach.]
Hello. [And he should probably politely find something to talk about rather than "why are you observing me"] Where might I find vegetarian cuisine?
