[action; closed to mccoy, kirk, and uhura]
[ He reaches the apartment barely out of breath. He's the picture of professionalism but anyone who knows him as well as they do will see the anxiety immediately. The Doctor'd been shouting, Jim had been coughing and Nyota -- he does not even want to consider what he might do if she's been harmed. ]
[ He knocks, the rapping hard and too loud in the empty corridor. The sharp shard in his heart is... dread. ]
[action; open]
[ The City is his to explore for the moment. He's out of uniform, dressed plainly in dark-coloured coat and pants (yes, in the heat, perks of growing up in a desert). He hasn't done anything about the ears quite yet, but a hat is with him, half-poking out of a pocket, just in case. ]
[ The meandering appears to be random, but to anyone watching closely (or long enough) a discernible pattern emerges: a simple grid layout with delays between returns to certain points. He's checking back, double checking, too. Mostly, he can be found with his tricorder, occasionally peering quizzically at it, or observing a few people at the central arrival square. (Maybe he's even observing you.) ]
[text]
[ Once he gets the hang of the network, he opts for a simple text post. No need to unnecessarily alarm anyone who is unfamiliar with aliens, and furthermore, no need to bring attention to his presence. Khan may have unexpected allies. ]
Greetings. I am a recent arrival.
What is the highest level of technology available here? Is it freely available to the populace? Where might I find parts?
Your assistance is appreciated.

[But that's an earlier Spock. The reasons he stops is because they've walked through their own fire, in a small hospital room waiting to see if the cure worked. The moment Janeway and Kirk told him temporal anomalies he was angry and worried at the same time, and keeping a successful lid on it.]
Doctor.
[The problem here is: he doesn't know when McCoy's from. A reference, perhaps, to see if it's before or after. The hint of warmth in his voice indicates... well. Something, he hopes.]
There is a 87.52% probability that I win our chess matches.

but that doesn't last long. ]
Welcome to the City, asshole.
[ he face morphs back into the usual state of exasperation and irritability. yeah, if anyone can make him simultaneously annoyed and relieved just by existing, it's spock ( right after jim ).
but now, to business. ]
I'm gonna have to ask you to be a little sensitive with the rest of 'em, if you can. Uhura doesn't know much past Nibiru, and Chekov's even further back, though I think Jim's told him a few things to clear up the suspicious looks he gives us once in a while. Ask your captain about that when you get to talking to him. And Jim, he - [ he sighs, crosses his arms, he wants to lay this all down as delicately as he possibly can, but there's really no way. ] - the last thing he remembers is saving the ship.
I told him a bit about what happened after, the cure and the ship being fit for duty after a year. Just enough to ease him.
[ no details on those two weeks, aside from a doctor's diagnosis. no talk of what spock did to khan. nothing much on what happens after he wakes up. ]

[His relief at them being from the same point or similar is momentary, and they are back to staring (affectionate) daggers at each other. It's uncomfortable that only he and McCoy have to keep secrets from the rest of the crew, but they had no choice over that particular circumstance. Chekov, he doubts the ensign will ask him much, much of the crew apart from Jim, McCoy, and Nyota found him extremely intimidating.]
[Speaking of Nyota - before Nibiru. She will have questions. They might lead to the same arguments, thankfully he knows how to quickly resolve them.]
[Jim.. is a different problem. They're looking at a repeat of that year, where he hasn't managed to get anything together at all, when the pain of losing Pike and dying for the crew is still raw. This has been accomplished somewhat, back home, but here, the circumstances are all new, and the variables unknown. With someone as unpredictable as Jim Kirk, this could be a problem. (Luckily?) Spock has McCoy for this. They both saw sides of each other they hadn't cared to before, and whatever comes, they will have to face it.]
[And Spock wonders how much he knows about Khan - knows what happened immediately after that fateful moment in the engine room.]
Affirmative. I shall exercise.. caution.
[His brow furrows briefly in worry, he doesn't like having to be the one to keep things from Jim - who was perceptive and bothersome - but if it was necessary (and logical), it would be done.]

[ he briefly considers telling him about khan, but chucks that out of the window right away. spock would bolt right the fuck out of here and hunt him down, which is the last thing they next right now. it's gonna have to be on jim to restrsin him. ]
You were here previously. Another 'you', from a different point of time, but from the same universe. I'm not explaining that, either. [ so reliable, isn't he? ] But the last time you were here, you needed me to tell you that I saved Jim because you were about to have a breakdown. So, that's - you've talked, alright? But not in grave detail. He didn't ask a lot of questions, and you were in shock.

I have no memory of either coming here or of that conversation. A repeat of the circumstances is unlikely but may be inevitable.
[excuse u he's not having a breakdown why would he even do that in front of you]
action » wow i shouldn't be tagging half asleep sorry about the mistakes
It's like you don't know your own captain.

yet. just pointing out a fact.dryly: ] Although worrying about staging another emotional intervention on your behalf should be the last thing on my mind right now, shouldn't it?

[Then again, he doesn't know Khan's here.]
May I speak to Lt. Uhura and the Captain?
action »
I'll be the judge of that.
[ but he does open the door behind him and speaks back to let him in. ]
They're in the second room.
action »
Thank you, Doctor.

wehe forgets. ]After you've been briefed, come back to me so I can give you a medical examination. No excuses, Spock.
[ ( although, chances are, before he can even say a word, spock might already have one foot out the door. bones and jim will have to do something about that. ) ]
