There's an immense appeal in bringing some pompous twit to my supposed level. Reminding him that the brain isn't as simple as his textbooks and his doctorate lead him to believe.

But really, all you are is clueless boy desperate to love and be loved. [ It might sound poetic, if his tone weren't so bleak. ]

It is when you don't get anything out of it. It just eats you alive from inside out. Leaves you as something less than whole.

Karl.... [It, actually, never managed to do that with Setsuna, so he might not understand. Oh, no. He does. Maybe better than he thinks.]
That's when it twists to cruelty. When it corrupts. Turns to hatred and destruction.
But it doesn't have to be like that. That's when you just punch them for being jerks!

Punch them or ignore them, the damage is completed. Often it sticks right in to the bone. And you can't explain to the 'jerks' what they did wrong when they were simply being themselves.

You know, you can just tell someone. Then if it isn't going to work out, you can at least do yourself a favor and move on. Guess with you it's kinda late, though, huh?

[Because, last time Setsuna checked, in love, whether sane or not, there was a craving, almost a need, to be around the other person at times. He still feels that for Sara, even now.]
