[ action - closed to housemates ]
[When she hadn't been able to find Miles, Korra had panicked. She's been getting trouble in the Underground for what her child self did over the weekend, and her first thought was those scumbags had dragged her young housemate into it. She'd been halfway to the Underground to go break some noses when she remembered the Hall of the Missing.

That's where she found him.

Now she's trudging back into the beach house, trying to figure out the best way to break this to Jinora.]


[ voice ]

Uh... [Man she hates making public posts. She coughs awkwardly.] If any of you knew Miles Morales... he's left the City.

[A long moment of silence before the feed clicks off.]

[For a moment Tohru's expression falls as well, then she takes a breath and smiles instead. It's not as bright as her usual, but it's a smile.]

Isn't that good, though? Isn't it best he goes home? [It doesn't last, seeing Korra's expression.] Is it bad for him?

[anatural]

No. No, it's great for him. It just sucks for the rest of us.

action;

[riceballfruit]

[Of course! Korra probably misses him. How could Tohru be so callous?!]

I-I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do?

action;

[anatural]

[That gets Tohru a funny look -- equal parts confusion, mild annoyance, and bemused affection.]

Not really.

[beat]

Don't you miss him too?

action;

[riceballfruit]

Of course I do.

[She's trying to smile, though. Maybe, after knowing her for a while, it could be noticed her smile doesn't reach her eyes, it's lacking the stunning cheer.] But it's better for him if he went home. It would be better for us all.

[But her voice doesn't sound completely convinced. Having to watch her friends go home, the idea does make her sad, but she'll smile, hoping no one will worry she might be upset by it.]

When the time comes, I would miss you terribly, but I would want you to go home knowing that I'll be happy for you, too.

How are you real?

R-real? Do I seem fake? Or do you mean am I'm transparent and a ghost? Am I fading? [Tohru looks frantically at herself, wide eyed, and completely sincere about suddenly wondering if there's a curse.]

[That gets a laugh out of Korra -- not much, but genuine.]

No. [She stands up and claps Tohru on the shoulder.] You're just the nicest person I know.

[She puts her hands up, eyes wide and confused.]

Me? Ah, no.... I mean, I want to be nice, but everyone is nice, really. They all just show it in different ways.

[anatural]

Trust me, Tohru, nobody is as nice as you are.

I-I guess I should say thank you instead of arguing about it. Doesn't seem fair to you to keep doing that.

[anatural]

Exactly. [She wraps her arm around Tohru's shoulders.] You should always listen to me when I'm right.

Uh, y-yes, Korra.

You ready for dinner?

[anatural]

What're we having? [In other words, yes.]
