--ome on, you piece of crap. [ Even if you don't know her, Leslie sounds more than a little stressed out. Her voice even sounds a bit tight but if anyone asks, she'll blame that on the whole suddenly in an unfamiliar fountain in an even more unfamiliar city thing.

She sighs and then there's just the chatter of the people near the fountain for a moment before she realizes she got her device to work. Finally. ] I really hope you guys can hear this because this is all the warning you're gonna get: when I find you, your asses are mine. [ Apparently she thinks this is only going to be heard by a couple very specific people. ] Kidnapping isn't cool, even if it's an attempt to cheer someone up. Especially then because, surprise, it doesn't work. In fact, it just kinda pisses them off.

ooc: As stated, she's in the fountain, so feel free to have your characters run into her there!

[ Then that's on the agenda for one of these days. He'll figure it out, and hopefully sooner rather than later the sad tinge to her smile will be gone. ]

You think? [ Awh come on. ] It's not quite as nice. Yet. I'm hoping to fix it up a bit. [ Between the two of them, they've got plenty of style. ]

[ She'll get there. Eventually. ]

That's what I said, wasn't it? [ But she nudges him lightly in the side with her elbow before slipping her hands into her pockets. ] Good thing I'm here, then, so you've got a second opinion on everything.

[ He'll be around, at least. ]

Yeah, good thing. Someone to tell me if the picture frames are even.

Exactly. [ She's wondering just how much stuff he's accumulated in a few days, though. ] So this room of mine, is it furnished or do I need to sleep on the floor until I can get a bed?

There's a bed. [ That came with the apartment. He doesn't, however, have a second set of sheets yet. He makes a face. ] And there may be a blanket.

[ That gets the tiniest huff of amusement. ] A blanket? Wow. Who knew you were staying at the Ritz? [ She's trying to be in a good mood. Really. It feels weird, though, when all she wants to do is curl up in bed, cry, and hide from the world for a while. ]

Well, if I'd known you were coming I woulda put the champagne in the fridge. [ He's just glad she's not actually crying right now. He hates seeing her cry. ]

You could always stick it in the freezer for a while when we get there.

I'd have to go buy some, first. [ And if he had any of the money they have here? He would. ]

Don't spend money on account of me. Letting me crash in your bed tonight so I definitely have a blanket instead of maybe is enough. [ Teasing! ]

Sure. [ Honestly, Shay. What did you expect? You just got here and you're not doing so well. Yeah, you can have the bed. ]

But only if you take a shower first. Who knows what's in that fountain.

I was kidding, Kelly. [ She won't take his bed from him, especially if part of the reason he's giving it up is because she's a mess. That's bordering way too close to pity for her comfort level. ] I'll be fine.

I wasn't. [ Take the bed, silly. It's not pity if you'd do the same for him, is it? ]

[ She just gives him a Look, even if she's touched by his offer. Even if she had to joke about it for him to do so. ] I'm not taking your bed. Even for a night.

Stubborn. [ His lips are quirking into a smile again. He's missed her, all right. ]

C'mon, we're almost there. [ Shower, first, then bar? ]

'Cause you're such a pushover. [ Please. She knows better.

Definitely shower first. Shay would like to feel and look human again rather than resembling a soaked puppy. ]

Never said that.

[ And look, they've managed to reach his place. It's still... pretty bare, but it has the essentials. ]

Shower's all yours. I'm gonna bring you a towel and a shirt?

[ Bare is fine for now. Honestly, all Shay wants is a hot shower and a comfortable bed. (And ice cream and alcohol, but they'll get to that.)

She nods. ] Sounds good. [ Sounds more than good, actually. After giving Kelly's arm a brief squeeze of appreciation, Shay makes her way to what she assumes is the bathroom, already stripping out of her soaked clothes before she even gets in there and closes the door.

Though she wants to stay under the hot water forever, Shay figures she'll make the shower quick instead. If she stays in there for too long, the desire to break down completely will be too strong; best not to risk that. ]

[ They'll definitely get to the alcohol. God knows the first thing he did after getting here was finding a bar and spending the rest of the day there.

He goes to find her that towel and a shirt of his. It's a relief to have her here, to have the ticking quiet down and disappear. ]

How's it going? [ Quick question not so much to check up on her as to let her know that he's in the bathroom as well to drop off the towel and shirt. ]

[ Shay, thankfully, wasn't so lost in her thoughts that she heard the door and didn't jump when Kelly spoke up. She was lost enough that she hadn't actually done much other than stand under the spray of the water and stare at the bottom of the shower. ]

About the same way most showers do. [ She peeks her head out for a moment. ] You really need better shampoo.

My hair doesn't need any of that fancy stuff and you know it. [ Said with a quick grin, because that's familiar territory. He'll drop more money on bodywash and aftershave than any other kind of toiletries combined. ]

Lucky you. [ Maybe, if she were more butch, Shay would cut her hair shorter so she wouldn't have to deal with it as much. Unfortunately, she's not.

Pulling the shower curtain closed again, Shay makes quick work of finishing her shower. ] How long do you think we're gonna be stuck here, Kelly? [ Not that she's dying to get back home, to the apartment full of things that'll just remind her of what she lost. ]

[ Leaning against the doorframe for while she's still talking. ] No idea. Some people say they've been here for years, so could be any amount of time.

[ Which he's not incredibly happy to hear. ] But we'll be back to the time we came from, anyway.

I don't know which is worse, being stuck here indefinitely or going back home. [ She tries to sound sarcastic, like she's just joking, but it's a little hard. The wounds are too fresh. At least she's in the shower so he can't see the way she tears up again, how she moves her face under the spray of the water to try to keep them from falling. ]

[ Damn, girl. Stop making him worry about you? ] I bet they've got a strip club somewhere around here, too.
