--ome on, you piece of crap. [ Even if you don't know her, Leslie sounds more than a little stressed out. Her voice even sounds a bit tight but if anyone asks, she'll blame that on the whole suddenly in an unfamiliar fountain in an even more unfamiliar city thing.

She sighs and then there's just the chatter of the people near the fountain for a moment before she realizes she got her device to work. Finally. ] I really hope you guys can hear this because this is all the warning you're gonna get: when I find you, your asses are mine. [ Apparently she thinks this is only going to be heard by a couple very specific people. ] Kidnapping isn't cool, even if it's an attempt to cheer someone up. Especially then because, surprise, it doesn't work. In fact, it just kinda pisses them off.

What about you? Do you have anyone from home?

My boyfriend turned up a couple of weeks after me. [ She sounds like she's smiling. ]

It's made everything better.

Lucky you. [ And she even sounds like she means it. Not that she's got anything against her - Shay doesn't even know the girl's name - but relationship talk just reminds her of Clarice. ] Seems like the deities might not want to make things as difficult for people as I thought.

I get the feeling they just like people here to mess with you even more.

[ She's quiet for a moment. ] But at least when you both know what's going on it's easier, there's someone to watch your back.

Yeah. I'm just thankful it's someone who usually watches my back, anyway. Ending up here with someone I can't stand would be worse than not having anybody, I'd bet.

[ She makes a noise. ] I'm Clary, by the way. If you need anyone to help you out while you're here you can look me up.

Leslie, and I appreciate it. That list's getting pretty long, though, I gotta admit. Not that that's a bad thing.
