Okay... this is strange.

[Saya glances over her shoulder, then focuses on her device with fair alarm.] First the waitress this morning told me I must have a hollow leg whatever that means, and then when I tried to stand up my leg was all weird. [She reaches down and thumps on it, and it produces a lovely echo.]

Then someone asked if I felt under the weather and... [She pans the device up to a very dark raincloud that appears to be localized only in the few square feet above her head.]

What kind of a curse is this?

((OOC: why, a Simon Says curse, of course! Saya must follow all "orders" today, with everything being taken literally. Be horrible to her please!))

[His expression startles her, though she's fairly sure it's not meant for her.]

...Setsuna? It's okay, really. [She doesn't want him to be mad at Karl because of her, especially when her feelings for Karl can be hot or cold depending on the moment.] He's probably just trying to get me riled up.

[He frowns to that. Okay, huh? It didn't seem okay a little while ago.]

[Setsuna does, however, calm a little.]

[Calming is good, though she does keep rambling just a little.] I wish he wouldn't do things like this, but he's not all bad. At least I don't think so. [He did protect her, in his way...]

[Moving along.] I guess I should get inside before I get arrested or something.

[Well, that stings. But while Setsuna feels a little jealous, hearing her talk like that about Karl, he nods his head. It was the very thing he tried to explain to her in the beginning - he's not all bad. No.]

[Eyes studying the ground, Setsuna nods. She should get hidden, a change of clothes, away from people who can talk and do something else.]

[And now she's done talking about Karl, because she'd very much like to stop being confused.]

[However, Setsuna's studious look downward has her feeling some unpleasant twinge.] Does it look that bad?

[His attention goes straight to her once more and he shakes his head. Quite the opposite!]

[It's purely selfish moment, but Saya has lots of those, so she's happy to take advantage -- with a pleased smile.] Okay, good.

Can you help me get somewhere? Maybe we can fly? [They'll have to get significantly closer for that, but it beats walking past strangers.]

[The Karl topic still nags at him, but there's nothing he can do about it now.]

[Instead, he nods to her and gets closer to pick her up.]

[Saya lets him gather her up despite her very mixed feelings about it. Neither self-indulgent joy at being this close to him nor regret at perhaps pushing him too much seem able to plant themselves firmly in the forefront.]

You always rescue me. [Without really intending it, she reaches up to brush his cheek with her fingertips.]

[He doesn't really know what to say, even if he could talk. He rescues her by some impulse he can't explain. All he wants is for her to be safe and sound.]

[Even as he feels her fingertips lightly against his skin, Setsuna, in turn, tries to catch her hand before it leaves his face, to hold it. But maybe they'll just miss each other.]

[He manages to catch her hand just as she was ready to retract it. The contact catches her by surprise, an adrenaline rush that she can't quite identify.]

[But she does try to smile.] I like when you rescue me. But I'm scared you'll get hurt one day.

[He feels a swell of guilt to that. Setsuna wants to shake his head, no, he won't get hurt, but he does have a bad record of wracking up damages. She doesn't even know what happened with Kira.]

[Instead, he just holds her hand, gives it a squeeze before reluctantly letting. He needs to properly hold her for flight.]
