[ Panic sits heavy in Raven's throat, drips into her heart like the water currently falling from her uniform. She'd had to pull herself from the water immediately, the shock of cold and lack of breath breaking only when the survival instinct had kicked it. But it's not seawater, she knows that much, knows as she sits on the steps of an unfamiliar building and watches the flooded streets with an unfamiliar horror that she is no longer on the beach. Had the teleporter brought her here? And what of her brother, of her friends?

Raven doesn't like feeling lost.

But she found the device easily, sitting awkward against the leather of her uniform. It had taken moments for her to figure out the buttons and now she stares at it. The device barely catches a flicker of blue before it settles on to the image of a blonde girl, a worried crease settling between her eyebrows. She's wearing some sort of uniform, yellow and black leather that hugs her tight and looks like it's made for protection more than anything. But it's maybe a little strange to see a girl who looks so young in something like that. ]

Is this a camera? [ Turning the device in her hands. ] I don't --.

[ She doesn't know what it is or how to use it and all she can think of is the last thing she said to Charles before they came to the beach, before they had to fight. It makes her want to cry but she knows she can't. With an exhale of breath and a disappointed sound, she talks almost to herself. ] Always falling to peices, c'mon.

Are you a shapeshifter?

[ There's a slight wondering sound to her voice. She's met other mutants but ones with the same ability? If Charles and Emma can be the same then why not Raven and this boy? ] Like ... like me?

Oh, are you? Brilliant! Yes, I shapeshift. [He sets down his device and steps back to do his girl form, then a ginger cat, then Raven's human form, and finally back to himself. The forms chase each other across his body like flickering fire.] You've rather a large span of powers, you and your friends.

I can't do animals. [ But she's smiling now, bright and almost happy. It's different to be lost in a world where she is the one lone being with powers, but to have others around her that can do much of the same things, well it comes with it a certain protection. ]

But yeah, yeah I'm a mutant too. [ Mutant and Proud. ] Did you always look like Sean?

As far as I know. [A grin.] I'm not a mutant, though, you know. Or at least that isn't my mutation.

Oh. But you have a power.

[ Charles would deal with this with more intelligence but Raven isn't a diplomat. ]

Most Jotnar who bother with it CAN shapeshift. The fire is a predilection. Being abnormally small for a male frost giant might be a mutation.

You don't look much like ... [ Raven he just said he was small for a giant. ] Like frost.

It's more a location than anything. We were born out of sweat, so it's not as if we're ice at all. Now, the Aesir. They were born from the ice. Odd, that.

[ Because sweat is totally less odd. ]

My brother would be so interested in this kind of stuff.

[For a species known as Frost Giants....nope. More odd.]
