His kitchen and living room are attached, so through the monitor one can see not only the front window with its curtains open, but the viva-la-whathehell going on below it.

Erik himself is leaning against the window and smoking, dressed from the day before like he hasn't been to sleep, and contemplating the unfolding scene with acerbic dispassion.]

Circumstances being what they are, this does strike me as the ideal time to mention I'm advertising my services as a locksmith. A profession coincidentally also often dealing with securities.

I didn't realize there was actually any kind of law enforcement on hand. Or that we were so pressed for entertainment rioting seems like an alternative to boredom.

[Erik isn't actually intrinsically opposed to rioting, he just feels riots should like, have a purpose. And Luke's explanation seems uh, suspect, if that enormous Kiwi actually is Odin and--look, there's only so much he can care.]

[For a telepath, Charles is honestly unused to large amounts of people in obvious distress - his life, prior to meeting Agent MacTaggert, was fairly insular - so he's been awake since the first ten people or so began gathering around and then it just got exponentially worse.

There were angry, frustrated thoughts not terribly long before it became angry, frustrated yelling. Add that to Charles being aware that Erik was awake, and also frustrated, plus his slight headache and this is how Charles appears at Erik's apartment door with a sweater pulled over his pajama top and his hair going in every single direction possible.]

I'm not sure that the hospital here has ambulances. I know it doesn't have an abundance of them, at any rate.

This sort of thing happens every now and then here. People do ridiculous things in an attempt to get at the deities or try and get out of here.

And invariably it ends badly - or at best it goes back to the status quo.

In any case, I'm not sure that the deities aren't just as trapped here as we are.
