[The broom finished sweeping the rest of the sand over the threshold and out into the street before Eagle addressed the network. ]

Does anyone know the reason why there is so much sand in the City? It was fun at first with that beach party and all but now I am really beginning to get concerned about it.
Now matter how many times I sweep out this shoppe the sand seems to return.

[A slight drizzle of sand from above catches Eagle’s attention and he steps back into the doorway of Geo’s Sweet Shoppe just as the sign above his head completes it’s transformation into sand and crashes to earth right where he had been standing. ]

Is that where all it is coming from, objects are actually turning into sand? Has anyone else had something like this happen?

Sparkles, lights... Vegas? For a candy store? Well, that is certainly a thought!

[He really can't deny that would give the shop a lot of attention! Very few candy stores have flashing casino style lighting. ]

Some one as cute as you are, don't you already get a lot of attention?
A power like that could come in handy as long as you were able to attract the right kind of guy.

No one would be able to pass it up! I mean I'm of the opinion that nobody should be able to pass up a candy store, but believe it or not there are some real weirdos out there.

[She considers that for a brief moment.] Well to be fair, I'm kind of attention-needy, and everyone knows that. So it's my own fault. But everyone is so quiet and busy lately. Hardly around. So... ya know. My brain has time to think and go into overdrive which is never a good thing. Does your brain ever overthink things and make you all crazy? Not like the psycho kind of crazy but more of the things aren't right even though they might, in the land of reality, be right kind of crazy.

I have the same opinion of them. There is nothing better than something sweet to eat.

I think... I know what you mean. Too much free time allows the mind to come up with too many things?

Ohhhh yeah, I have such a sweet tooth, especially when it doesn't have sand in it. Buffy thinks the things I bake are too sweet which is saying something cause she has a sweet tooth too.

[Yes, she has all the words. It's to make up for how little everyone else talks to her. And really, if people knew how much she didn't say and only thought, she'd get a little credit.]

Yeah, I'm a thinker. And I tend to mess things up when I think too much. And things just get confusing in my brain and then there are more thoughts to add on top of the confusing thoughts that make a big 'ol mess and... that's the definition of Dawn Summers.

Can anything ever really be called too sweet?

I have never believed it was possible to think too much. It might come out a bit confusing for others but I enjoy your unique way of looking at things.

Oh yeah. I bake a lot. I call it food experimentation cause I hardly ever use a recipe but I don't think it's ever been too sweet contrary to popular opinion. Too sweet isn't possible.

But lately I've been all chef like and trying to learn how to cook too. And that's been fun. Cause cooking and baking aren't always the same thing in the world of food experimentation. I mean you can pile the sugar in and it's nothing but you pile the salt in? Not so good.

[Her smile is audible in the tone of her voice.] I'm glad someone understands. I swear I freak myself out all the time with the confusing and the thinking and the general messing things up.

I had a bit of trouble learning how to cook myself, but with a recipe and a little guidance from Tsubaki I have managed to figure it out at least reasonably well.
How have your experiments been going? Have you had much success with a recipe yet?

Well I rock at sugary things. It's the dinner kind of cooking that I've never really tried all that much or been very good at when I have tried. I made lasagna for this household dinner the other night and Buffy and my sister said it was a little salty but good. Next up comes something made in a wok. Have you ever made anything in a wok? I just got one and it's kind of intimidating. Cookware probably shouldn't be intimidating.

A wok? No, I really haven't. I still have a tendency to leave the more complicated recipes to the experts.
We do a lot of restaurants.

Your lasagna only being a little too salty isn't bad at all. Congratulations.

Well somehow at the dinner we got on the topic of woks. And I had to find out what a wok was. After a little research, I now know what it is and I think I'll make brown rice and stir fry with it. I can invite you and your guy when I decide to get all ambitious in the kitchen! That way you can see how much I rock or how much I suck. If I suck, I usually have pizza on backorder. So there will be food regardless. Buffy, Faith and Dom will be there for sure. We'll have to see if Aya is busy or not. He missed my lasagna dinner. But it's a good group of people.

Oh no, not any more difficult. I mean you just add extra stuff, right? I could totally do that. If I'm good at anything it's at doing something a hundred and ten percent. It's the extra ten percent that can either make you or break you, by the way. I discovered that one myself.
