Sand everywhere...

[The broom finished sweeping the rest of the sand over the threshold and out into the street before Eagle addressed the network. ]

Does anyone know the reason why there is so much sand in the City? It was fun at first with that beach party and all but now I am really beginning to get concerned about it.
Now matter how many times I sweep out this shoppe the sand seems to return.

[A slight drizzle of sand from above catches Eagle’s attention and he steps back into the doorway of Geo’s Sweet Shoppe just as the sign above his head completes it’s transformation into sand and crashes to earth right where he had been standing. ]

Is that where all it is coming from, objects are actually turning into sand? Has anyone else had something like this happen?

[The Commander looked through the racks of clothing that claimed to be spring fashions for 2012. What were people thinking? ]

Our coffee maker turned into sand. Which... talk about blasphemy. But never fear, we got a new one that's still all plastic and chrome-y and good with the coffee making and the eventual caffeination that comes with the coffee making.

[Eagle would never be very bothered about the loss of a coffee maker... now if the teapot suddenly turned to sand it truly would be a tragedy! ]

My sign and our coffee maker, there really doesn't seem to be very much of a pattern to this. Have you noticed this happening very often to things?

Not all that often, really. But I'm not always miss observant girl when it comes to things and not people. Now if people started turning to sand, that'd be all creeptastic and noticeable.

That is certainly a good thing! I would much rather loose objects than people.

The last time something like this happened an entire communications tower turned to sand, I haven't noticed any buildings changing to sand either but...

[He is concerned about it. ]

I hope between my people thing and your building thing that we aren't unwittingly jinxing us all. Cause I've been the one to do the jinxy thing before and it's never a good feeling being that person in the group. Even if jinx is a fun word to say sometimes.

I don't believe in jinxes. I believe we all make our our luck. If anything like what we were talking about actually does happen we will just have to locate the source of the problem and find a way to solve it.

Oh I believe in them. I believe in lots of things cause if I ever said I didn't believe in them then poof, they'd prove themselves to be real. That's just how things happen. But I'm with you on the finding a way to solve whatever comes our way. I'm all about the problem solving. Although I'm afraid I don't have a way to save your sign from being all sandy.

No, I really didn't think there would be a way to save that. Once it has turned to sand there never seems to be any way to reverse the process.

[Eagle pauses as he watches some of the grains of sand tumble down the street. ]

Besides, it looks as if parts of it have already blown away.

Ooo a reversal spell. I wonder if I could work one of those. Probably not without knowing exactly how the sign looked before it went all beachy on you. Okay, so strike that idea. But hey, there are probably some good sign makers here in the City. I mean there are a lot of signs cause... businesses.

[I love Dawn's way with words and so does Eagle. That is why he laughs. It was a very logical argument arrived at in a round-about fashion.]

I'm sure there are at least a few sign makers around!

[Unless their equipment has also turn to... well, maybe that is something better not thought on too long. ]

I will certainly have to look for one of them in order to make a replacement.

[Eagle just goes over and pulls out a simple t-shirt and a pair of jeans. It is the kind of outfit he has seen so many people in the city wearing. ]

If I were you I'd request sparkles and lights. Nothing catches a persons attention like big flashy and sparkling lights. Just look at Vegas! It's all flashy and calls to all the adults in the world like sirens once called to the sailors.

[And she's about to switch topics on you, Eagle. But I think you're used to her rambling by now and her random topical changes.] I think it'd be fun to be a siren. Cause then you could be all look at me look at me, I'm beautiful! Come here boys! And you'd get all the attention. Minus the killing part at the end. Cause killer doesn't look good on anybody.

[He really can't deny that would give the shop a lot of attention! Very few candy stores have flashing casino style lighting. ]
