Video/Action after the sun goes down

[There's a worried looking Tohru, at first.] Korra, Jinora, I really hope you both aren't out in this! I'll be home soon. [In fact, the scenery behind her isn't far from the apartment she shares with them.]

But this is awful! They look like they're suffering, falling apart. But they're attacking other people! Why?

[She hears a scream and stops, jaw tightening. A first for some - Tohru looks downright angry. Well, as angry as she can look. The device shuts off right then.]

[Action]

[And when she shuts off the device she uses her bag to smack the ghoul in front of her that was about to grab and bite someone else. Of course, this does nothing to really hinder the ghoul but make it turn to growl at Tohru.] I'm sorry, but I can't let you hurt anyone!

[ooc: Feel free to be the person she just saved (maybe they didn't even need the help), jump in and save her, or just try to talk sense to her over video.]

You can't go alone.

I'm going to lure them to the mountain. [pointedly to Jinora] Alone. It's safer that way.

You are very strong...but are you sure you'll be alright?

And alone? How is that safer?

[It's safer because she doesn't have to worry about protecting other people.]

Just trust me, okay? And don't go outside.

[That said, she hurries out the door.]

[Tohru stands near Jinora and watches Korra leave, worrying her bottom lip. Something just doesn't feel right about that.]

[Korra leaves before Jinora can say anything in her defense. She's annoyed--no, more worried than annoyed. This is too big for anyone to handle alone.]

We'll be okay.

I know we will be. [Tohru continues looking down, and now has one hand on Jinora's shoulder.] It's Korra I'm worried about.

[Jinora wilts.]

Me too.

[Oh no! Tohru needed to be strong for Jinora right now. She couldn't let this persist.]

[She gives her a hug, then crouches down a little.]

She'll be okay, too, though. Korra is very brave and strong. She'll come back.

In the meantime, would you like some lunch? I was in the middle of making it.

[Jinora's too smart to believe in promises, but she does know that Korra's strong and always comes back. She doesn't want to disappoint Tohru, either...]

Lunch would be nice.

[Tohru won't focus on the possibilities, because the alternatives are too hard. If Korra never came back, like her mother, she'd never forgive herself. Focusing on finishing up lunch and getting Jinora a meal is easier.]

[Besides....]

Just believe in her. It's all we can do, and it's like being at her side. I can't do anything else but make sure she comes back to a warm meal. And you can make sure she comes back to you safe and sound.

I believe in her. She's the strongest person ever, but I'm her teacher, Tohru. I'm not supposed to let her do everything by herself. My dad wouldn't.

You're her- [Right. Didn't they say something about that before?]

Even so. Sometimes a student has to go off on their own to prove what they've learned, right?

[It's a strange situation. Korra was taking airbending lessons from Master Tenzin, Jinora's father, but Jinora is the only one who can teach her in the City. Ten year-olds don't usually give lessons to the Avatar, no matter how good they are.]

This is different. She's going to kill-- [Her breath catches and she can't quite finish that sentence.] It's bad, and I won't be able to help her.

[Tohru's not even sure she wants to hear the rest of the sentence. Instead, she focuses on Jinora.]

I'm sorry we couldn't make her stay. [Maybe they could have?] Maybe we should have gone with her. [But what could Tohru have done out there? She would've just been in the way.]

But we can at least help her when it's over. Can't we?

I don't want to worry about you, too! [Jinora hugs the older girl impulsively.]

She just shouldn't be alone. I can fight... I could help her.

[Tohru hugs her back, lightly patting Jinora's back.]

But it seemed like she didn't want anyone going with her. [More worry. Why would Korra want to face it all alone? When she didn't have to?]

No, because she thinks she needs to take care of everything alone.

[Jinora might be a little angry. Mostly upset, but still.]

[Oh. One of those. The ones accustomed to going it alone, like Kyo.... If the fact Tohru kept looking towards the door wasn't a give away to her thoughts, when she took a step forward, it likely was. Still, she held back. They didn't even know which way Korra went.]

Then, when she comes back, we need to show her there's value in helping each other. [Except, Tohru didn't want a 'when she gets back.' She wanted to make sure Korra understood she wasn't alone.]

[If Tohru went... well. Of course Jinora would follow, but they don't know where she went.]

How do we do that?

[~~The player would totally have her do it, but it would ruin plans!~~]

We support her. [Though part of Tohru wants to say, 'We follow her. We give her our strength.] And when she does come back, we don't take no for an answer and help her!

...unless she really, really doesn't need the help.

She won't want help.

[The girl becomes somewhat sad and reflective.] Or maybe she really doesn't need anyone.

That's why we persist!

[A sad smile.] Do you really know anyone that doesn't need anyone else? I can't think of anyone that would benefit from being completely alone. Maybe that's because I've had a lot of help, and a lot of gracious people to give me that help when I needed it.

[Jinora thinks over Tohru's words silently before coming up with a response.]

No... I think everyone needs help, but I'm tired of Korra not letting me.
