19th Spell ~ [Video]

[ Finally, Merlin addresses the network after coming back to the City. Those who knew him before might notice that he's gotten a bit older and, if you're perceptive, that there's definitely some added weariness to his eyes. But it's not quite that noticeable, either. ]

The City's the same as always, I see. But I guess a week doesn't really change that much.

Dancing's at least a pretty nice curse.

I don't know how many of you knew I was gone, but I'm back now. Have been for a while, actually. Who's still here and how are you doing?

Oh, and apparently Christmas coming up soon? We don't celebrate that back home so... I'm a bit curious what it's like. But I'll find out, won't I?

[ A pause, followed by a cheeky grin. ]

Maybe I should be worried about it? This is the City.

[She's probably at work again. She has a lot of lost time to make up for, plus it's busier because of the holidays.]

Are you curse today?

Because I'm not either and I like the idea of dancing with my husband because I chose to. Not because a curse told me to.

Save one for me. I'll be home in a couple hours.

[Charlie's home a little later than expected. It's hard walking home when people just want to dance. She's amused by the day, though, thanking God that this curse was a mild one.

The animals get to the door before she opens it, barking and yipping and making all manner of sounds.

Which means Charlie can't actually open the door fully without risking one or all of them running out the door. So she peeks in, eying the pets and laughing slightly at their antics.]

Phantom, go get Petrichor! Get him!

[That takes care of two of them, the aforementioned animals running into another part of the house to goof off. The puppy gets picked up and Charlie's finally able to get into the house all the way.] Yikes. What a greeting.

[There's the man she wanted to see. She grins the second she knows he's near, turning towards him and kissing him in return.]

Wouldn't change it for the world. Hello, Merlin. How was your day?

I hope they don't give a bad curse for Christmas.

I'm not sure of the Christian portion of it, but where I come from, we exchange gifts. Not that you have to!

It's, um, nice you're back, Merlin-san.

[personal profile] oceantrauma 2012-12-07 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
No one needs to. I wouldn't know what to get you in return.

But I'd want to if you did that. Besides, if you do, then Charlie-san likely will as well. And how could I not give her a gift?
oceantrauma: (What?)

[personal profile] oceantrauma 2012-12-09 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay. That could work. Though, I don't even know what you like.

harrydresden: (good people)

You must have been gone at the same time I was.

Where I come from there are a lot of lights and people on street corners ringing bells and mass treeicide.
harrydresden: (I got the power)

[personal profile] harrydresden 2012-12-09 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yep chop em down en masse and then put shiny baubles on them and lights and display them in your living room. One per home usually unless, you know, you're rich. Or weird.

To be honest it used to be a pagan thing for celebrating the Winter Solstice the Christians co-opted. Don't think many people really know but apparently it's got all kinds of symbolic meaning, evergreen and all that. The important part is that it's where you put the presents. Under the tree I mean.
