I don't know why people become so angry over losing. Spoiler alert- it is a trait you mortals share with gods and demons alike.

Or perhaps it is not the losing I do not understand, but the insistence upon returning to lose again after being so frustrated the first time.

They return because they feel they have the trick figured out, or that they can not be fooled twice. To lose again hurts worse than the first.

No arguments here. Beware the ones that start to twitch and shake however, greed and obsession are not pretty.

Well enough since we are still working on their diet. [But no one notices random NPC vampires dying in the Underground occasionally, right?]

Unusual perhaps, but they are rather particularly different themselves.

A fine purpose for them. I'd have felt bad turning them back into stuffed creatures.

It is quite certain they are happier this way than they were before. Or leastwise there have been no complaints from them.
