Actually I've never tried to eat magic. Does it have a taste?

But when I use magic to make food, it generally tastes as it should. So I guess it depends on what I'm making?

You cook with it? Huh, I never thought about trying that. Of course I'm not great at cooking without magic, so maybe it's for the best.

No, no. MAKE. I cook the old-fashioned style. Sort of like I do stage magic the old-fashioned way. There's something very gratifying about it.

But who knows? If you can't cook without it, maybe cooking WITH it is your calling?

Uh... what like something from nothing? Or is this a sorcerer's apprentice thing where everything sort of... makes it for you?

Nah, I think I pretty much stop at potions, which you know, don't have to taste good. And pizza. I can do pizza.

That's one way to put it.

I can do that, yeah. That's usually what I do. I don't like, turn a chair into a cheesecake or anything. Or, I don't know, take all the ingredients and say what I want.

But tasting good makes it go down easier. But pizza is an acceptable answer, as well.

I can't make something from nothing unless it's an illusion. But I can mix stuff together I suppose. I got in trouble when I was an apprentice for doing the whole broom sweeping thing. But that one can be handy in all kinds of ways you never realized.

Pizza is easy and delicious. If I have to make it at home that's my go-to.

Haha, really? You got to be a genuine apprentice? You lucky devil, you. (It's okay, I think everyone with the ability to do so has tried a cliche or two, but I will never confess to mine. I like to look like a bad ass.)

I like Indian and Thai food. But those can be a bit of an ordeal to make.

It's kind of how it works where I come from. If you don't have someone around to mentor you, generally things don't go well. Kids aren't great at controlling bad impulses. So yeah, we do the master and apprentice thing.

Heh, 90% of wizardry is making them think you know more than you do. Can't ruin the all knowing image.

I suppose I'm inclined to agree with that. Phenomenal cosmic powers or just okay cosmic powers and kids -- especially teens -- don't usually mix well.

I've seem what some of those kids become. I was hoping to expand our outreach but shit sorta hit the fan a little while back so we'll see what happens.
