Shoulders thrown back, chin raised, dressed like a prep school kid with a blatant disregard for how the uniform is supposed to be worn and a disaffected stare like he automatically thinks he's the greatest thing since Skyrim was released and you should just accept it already. Oh yeah. It's like he's channeling Mark or something.

Uh huh. [ Bucky's aggression is immediately up, taking in Ed and frowning. But hurting Charlie is a no-go area, she's practically family by now, and he's not going to let that fly. His posture changes the minute he's in reach. ]

So, the way I here it, you're owed this. [ Ed, meet Bucky Barnes' right first, you're in good company of people it knows. ]

[Oh, you did NOT just do that.

His head whips around with the impact, but instead of turning back immediately he pauses, chest heaving like he actually expended effort, and if Bucky's at all perceptive he'll notice the blue veins spiderwebbing their way down Ed's neck where they weren't a moment ago and the claws sprouting from his fingertips where before there were only blunted nails. And now he turns back, an almost reptillian movement, and smirks widely, eyes completely black, putting fangs on display.

He laughs; it doesn't sound, strictly speaking, sane.]

Seriously, man? Is that the game you really want to play?

[ His eyes widen, but Bucky is not a man who backs down, he never has been, and he doubts he'll ever learn to be. A wiser man might, because he knows this guy isn't human, he's probably out matched here, but instead of high-tailing it away, he just squares his shoulders. ]

You hurt my friend, it's going down anyway.

[A curious head tilt]

Who said anything about hurting her? She's the one who threatened to light me on fire. All I did was say I was hungry.

[He puts on an injured face, like he was the one in the right here, but it's not exactly 100% sincere.]

Y'want me to punch you again?

You think you'll land the next one?

[He's watching this time, human; a hint: you won't.]

Never backed down from a fight in my life. Ain't about to do so now.

[A cruel laugh, and he spreads his arms, smirking dangerously.]

Then go ahead. Try it. I dare you.

[He'd welcome the opening, really; careful, Bucky, it's a trap.]

[ And he's sadly walked into far worse, so he does what Ed seems to be taunting him about, aiming another punch toward him. ]

[He ducks out of the way of the punch, smooth, like he knew it was coming before it even started, and it's a moment's work to bat the arm out of the way and swipe with opposite claws, across the chest, enough to score flesh and draw blood without causing any serious damage. It's a warning, a cat playing with a mouse to see how long it can draw out the game.]

Seriously, man? God, you never take the invitation, that's just asking to get your ass beat.

[ Shit. It's unexpected, the sharp sting of pain across his chest, but Bucky only grins, teeth baring. ] I don't like jerks who think they can bully girls, no matter what they are.

[ And he isn't backing down, Charlie's his friend, and even if she weren't, Bucky would still be fighting this. Feinting to the left, Bucky's waiting to see if the guy will follow, will fall the right way for him to turn the tables and hit at the right. ]

I wasn't bullying, I was hungry; there's a difference.

Unless you're volunteering to take her place...?

[Thoroughly convinced he can outmaneuver whatever this human comes up with, Ed goes for the feint; he doesn't even have one death under his belt to tell him he should be wary. A lean and a grin, poised to pounce.]

[ Which is what Bucky wanted, moving to hit out at his now unprotected side. He's good with his fists, always has been, knows how to move and when to dodge out of the way, and he does this time, backs up, mouth twisted. ]

[Ed snarls, but it's just an irritation, a mosquito buzzing in his ear. Easily swatted to get to the blood, or so he's convinced.

So he laughs, smirks widely, and surges forward to grab for the other man's neck, to squeeze and crush, to feel the pulse under his fingers.]

Well well well, we've got a fighter here. Cool; it's a nice change.

[...From semiconscious women in a secret room? Anything would be.]

[ He's stronger than he looks, and Bucky's going to have to pull this off to make it out alive. The fingers around his neck are tight, and for a moment he sees nothing but stars, but he's been through worse, so he just rears back, aims for Ed's stomach, tries to break his grip by aiming his hits below his ribs. ]

[...Oof. A grunt and another snarl, only this time it's more serious, and after an instinctive squeeze, pricking the tips of his claws into the skin, his grip loosens, albeit fractionally. Even so, it's enough for an escape.

Of course, the forceful shove away from him probably doesn't hurt any either.]

[ Staggering back. His throat hurts as he takes a breath, can feel blood inside his collar. ] Ain't as good when it's not some dame you're pickin' on, is it?

Except that's different; that's for food.

This is for fun.

[You ready for more? How about another swipe?]

[ Moving back on light heels. ] S'a'll you got?

[And following; a step forward, and a second, then a lunge. Maybe he can disembowel; that's the hope, anyway.]

I'm not even warmed up yet.

[ He sure as hell impacts with Bucky's body, but instead of getting his claws in and tearing, or whatever the hell he's trying, they just go sprawling through the dirt. ]

[Dammit. Stupid over-estimation.

IT'S FINE. He'll just try biting, the guy's close enough, and with another lung and a shift he's mostly pinned. He'll take advantage.]

[ Holy motherfucking shit. Bucky's just trying to get a grip on anything he can, wildly flailing out with his hands to get at Ed. ]

[Ugh. You are being difficultttt. But fine. Here isn't exactly the place for this. He dodges the fist (although it still manages to catch him pretty good before he gets completely out of the way; he's definitely knocked off-balance) and lets him up with a smug smirk.]
