video:

[Charlie has a broom in her hand and she is sweeping the floor of her apartment building, frowning. The device is at an odd angle on the kitchen counter, probably haphazardly put there and she's unaware it's recording.] Jesus, it's everywhere.

[Whatever she's just swept up is swept into a dustpan, Charlie crouching and disappearing from view to do so. When she's up again, she notices the device recording and she shows the dustpan full of sand.] Really? It was in my bed this morning. And my shoes.

[A sigh, a small shake of her head and she looks at the floor again. Something makes her smile and she picks the device up, pointing it at her cats. They're playing with the sand, batting it around and rolling in it, as little as there is.] At least someone in this apartment is having fun with it.

[Feed ends.]

Hollywood, then. Easy enough to play tourist and blend in with a crowd, but also plenty of little hideaways for those who don't want to walk the strip. I particularly recommend the Egyptian Theater, if you're into movies. If you like the quieter side, then the Getty Center's always a nice spot to see. Fantastic view, expansive collection, and a big enough space to "get lost," if that's what you're looking for.

Though, I suppose playing travel agent isn't the most useful topic of conversation if we're stuck here.

[ ooc: My favorite LA places, let me show you them. ]

Looks great! [ Pepper prefers the smaller, out of the way places that put up paintings by local artists and have a more eclectic and loyal customer base. She doesn't have the chance to go out for coffee very often, instead using the espresso machines at home or at work, but it's still something she enjoys. ]

What do you recommend?

Breakfast Blend sounds perfect. [ She smiles. ] I'll get you next time.

[ As they move to wait for their coffee, the familiar guitar opening to 'American Woman' starts to play over the PA system. Pepper can't help but bob her head to it. ]

[ Pepper agrees, not singing along, but tapping her foot more obviously now. ] It's a real classic.

So, Charlie, tell me about yourself. Where were you from, before you came here? Not California, obviously.

Oh, absolutely. Can't beat Lenny. For the sound or the view.

A jetsetter, eh? For business or pleasure?

Oh, I know what that's like. If not from personal experience, then from watching it.

Do you by any chance know Tony Stark? [ He seems to be building up a notoriety around here to match his at home. ]

Oh, he has his suit here. [ On the one hand, that makes things easier, if Charlie already knows about Iron Man. On the other hand, Tonyyyyy... ] Well Mr. Stark is my employer. Home and, here, I guess.

Yes. Shoes. Glad to see you have your priorities straight.
